2025 College Football Thread: “maybe we can hire Jimbo back” FSU fan depressingly mutters to himself (22 Viewers)

UF's commitment to not send pressure on 3rd down will be their downfall. Pressure Beck. He's ungood
Maybe. But he's made a couple of wow throws on the run, including the TD throw to Toney in the ND game.

He's ranked as as 3rd round pick in the draft, but I'm not seeing it yet. Good recovery from Tommy John surgery.

I'm not seeing many better QBs in college than Beck.

He might not be an NFL star, but he is CURRENTLY a better QB than all the guys ranked over him.

Didn't he declare for the 2025 NFL and the NFL said "nah"?

I think there are several better NCAA QBs with much brighter NFL potential. Beck has clipboard holder written all over him. Which, what a dream job!
He's looked good when handing the ball off today.

Isn't Sellers a better Anthony Richardson?
I dunno, maybe. I'm sure he has a better chance of being the next great NFL QB than Beck. He's not playing better than Beck at the moment. Not even close really.

All I'm saying is people may be confusing Beck's NFL chances with his ability to stand behind a great college line, and win games.

Imagine somebody telling you two years ago that Bill Belichick would get crushed by UCF.

I missed that. Really? Gawd, this guy is hellbent on trashing his legacy.
Nothing he does at UNC is going to change his NFL legacy except by anyone that already hates him. That UNC roster is terrible.
I guess? Based off his last few nfl years and then this and then Brady winning in Tampa (praise god) I feel like their thing has gone from 50-50 to like 65-35.

I think the world saw plenty of Beck at Georgia standing behind a great line with NFL players all around him. They moved on from him. He has 0 TD passes today.

Meanwhile, Fernando Mendoza has 4 TDs in one half of play against a ranked team. Dante Moore had 4 TDs through the air. There are several QBs in college that are better than Beck, IMO. Nussmier is better. UW's Javon Williams is better.

No, that's fair. But between his final seasons at NE, this horrendous start at UNC and being led around like a leashed dog by a girl 40 years younger, it's getting pretty awkward for Bill.

He has all the money he could ever need and is one of the best NFL coaches in history. Why not go the way of Jimmy Johnson or Bill Cowher? He's not getting another NFL job with this effort at UNC.

Notre Dame has the worst defense in the country. Getting shredded by an awful Purdue team.
Chris Ash is getting fired tomorrow. It’s worse than a high school DC sorts of mistakes out there. I’m literally not kidding how basic of mistakes he’s making.

Didnt Notre Dame win?
Still a fair critique. Offense has to score 40 every game or risk losing after posting a top 5 defense last year. Very very broken.

The team cannot run a functional zone. A&M made half their yards last week on 6 plays. All zone. Same this week and Freeman said it was fixed. Ash is in serious trouble.

Freeman seems pretty annoyed too : https://x.com/petesampson_/status/1969565320651424025?s=46&t=MdTx4FFmmebH2Sw5eQ8I0Q

Miami Offense especially the passing game is non existent
1st and 2nd down are run and run again, lot of 3rd and 5 or longer right now, asking Beck to just get lucky on 3rd, no rhythm right now

On the flip side, the Miami Defense looks for real, the DL has been getting after them all night

Miami has 2 players mocked in the top 10 by Tankathon. RT Francis Maguigoa and DT Rueben Bain who had 77 sacks in high school. He was great as a freshman, play through injuries last year, and has been a force this year.

I haven't followed along in this thread and I don't care who needs to see this but Wisconsin is butt. Luke Fickell has turned a program that prided itself on toughness into a program that sucks. I'll take PMs to help right the ship. The country is better when Wisconsin is good

Ward had great chemistry with Restrepo who was a great college WR, even before Ward came to the U. Restrepo is on the Titan practice squad. He also had a great TE in Arroyo. But Mario doesn't have the same faith in Beck who has been off-target tonight. The Gator defense has been good this year.

1st time I've seen Florida cross midfield, Miami with several chances to put this game away and now are just one play from this becoming a fist fight heading towards the 4th
Good Job Beck

You don’t usually see QBs as bad as Lagway. Guy can’t even throw it to the flat.

He is hurt. He was super accurate last year. Missed the entire offseason with a shoulder injury that they thought might need surgery and keep him out all year. Decided to try and play through it instead. Clearly it's too much.

Didn’t they say he’s 100%?

I think that was a misquote. The Gainesville Sun put in their headline that he was 100% but in the article the actual quote from Napier was "DJ has been a 100% participant in practice here for several days".

I don't think Napier's intent with that quote was to say he was 100% healthy, but rather that he had completed in 100% of the activities in practice. They didn't even know if he'd play this season until like a week before the season opener. There's no way he went from "might miss the entire season" to 100% healthy overnight.

They should sit him then. Killing any high draft pick potential with this tape.

Miami has no confidence in Beck to throw downfield versus the Gator defense. Nussmeier didn’t have a good game either vs UF, but Beck has been bad.
