On Thursday Kalif DNP, LaPorta was limited, everyone else (including Anzalone & Ragnow) practiced in full, plus Houston has been activated. Looking pretty good health wise.

Finally waived waived Julian Okwara. Okwara has been inactive for eight games this season.

In four seasons with the Lions, Okwara has amassed nine sacks and 54 tackles in 38 games played.

Thought he was going to get cut at the end of camp. He did have 3 sacks v scrubs in PS3, but I would have preferred they kept another CB. But loyalty is a thing around Allen Park.

Don’t think they can resign him to the practice squad bc that’s frozen for the postseason, but wouldn’t surprise me if he’s on the 90 man in a few months. Always a head scratcher for guys like him, Will Harris & Cabinda but have to trust Brad & Dan.

Starling Thomas was a starting CB for the Cardinals by season end.
Many were disappointed that he was waived in relation to who was kept.

Any idea Bobby what his PFF rating was?

Not good lol. Struggled in coverage (40s & 50s) most games. But heckuva competitor, I still think with his speed he could be a good developmental player. Great on Special Teams.

@justin_rogers Dan Campbell said the team is undecided if James Houston will be active this week.

8 sacks & 11 QB hits on 92 pass rush snaps as a rookie.
Very efficient but he's also quite raw and probably isn't ready to help in any situation except obvious pass rushing downs.

Hoping they get him some reps, we’ll need him next week, too.

18 weeks since he last played.

3rd and long on defense has been the bane of my existence seemingly forever. If he can help out even a few plays that would be a plus.

You guys doing a Lions post-season scramble tournament in Cancun or something?

Lions roster moves:

Re-signed LB Julian Okwara to the Practice Squad.

Elevated DL Tyson Alualu and FB Jason Cabinda from the Practice Squad to the Active/Inactive list.

Clean injury report:

Kalif Raymond is out
James Houston IV questionable
Sam LaPorta questionable

MCDC wouldn’t say for sure if the Problem would inactive or not

[Pelissero] Lions COO Mike Disner withdrew from the #Panthers GM search, per source. He’s staying in Detroit.

Looks like gates at Ford Field will be opening at noon tomorrow.

I assume there’s going to be a stadium watch party if the Lions win. I’ll probably come for that if it happens.
But dang! So close to a Packers win!

Can't believe the Pack missed an easy FG.
Anyone else find it hard to go against a lifetime of rooting against that franchise, even if it would have meant a potential home championship game?

I would never root for them

FTP

I watched it this morning and this is how I felt. I’d rather go on the road to the 9ers than the prospect of losing an NFC conference game home to Packers and them taking our thunder. FTP. Landing on another what looks like class QB. Hate them. Forgetting about rookie pay scale this is the way to bring a QB in imo… unless so obviously amazing, sitting for 1-2 years to learn and develop just makes complete sense ala Mahomes/Love

Our division is going to be a nightmare next season so it’s good that we actually went ahead and won it this year. Its going to very much look like the AFC North going forward for the next while

Don't overestimate the Bears and Vikings. Both organizations are still a mess. The Bears will probably move on from Fields, so will have to use their draft Capitol hoping to get lucky on drafting a QB, which has proved to be a crapshoot. Minnesota is also a mess QB, with the fans ready to run Cousins out of town and no viable replacement on the team.

Unfortunately, the Packers will be a very good team. Our best chance though for the SB was having them come to Ford Field vice going to SF. We still have a tough game against TB today, so let's take one game at a time.

The trajectory of the Lions is still very much upward. This team is not close to peaking, as we will add three or four pieces next year to bolster our defensive weakness In the off-season. Losing Ben Johnson will be a blow, but Dan Campbell has amassed an infrastructure which will provide continuity from within. The Lions and Packers will be solidly in the playoffs for years to come.

Agree with the overall essence. Couple of things ….

I definitely wasn’t looking past the Buccs. Been a Lions fan ( and a fan of quite a few other teams/sports that vary between bad to the nearly men ) way too long to do that.

I’d rather mentally overestimate than underestimate. Causes no harm to anyone else. Bears D looks very good, they ended the season well and have lots of capital. IF they move on from Fields it’s because they will see it as an instant lateral move at QB at worst and probably very quickly an upgrade. Division games are tough and we split 1-1 this season with a close win at home. Vikings let’s see. Obviously fell apart towards end but IF Cousins does return there then they will be an above average to good team. Of course, we are better than both with more room to grow, just saying division is going to be tough.

It was interesting watching the 9ers last night. Packers succeeded in the run game which would give me a lot of hope for ours should we face them. Through the air they found yards as well. Purdy did not look great to me either, it’s still to be established how he will fare across multiple playoff games. They looked less dominant than I expected overall and I’m not sure how much of that was the Packers and how much of it was them. To me it seems like we might matchup worse with Packers as Love looks like the better QB for making the kind of throws that we consistently yield massive plays to. Having said that, I’m also fairly certain that I don’t really know very much 😂 Can’t underestimate the effect of being at home and in a dome for Goff and the O

Unreal...On my way to the game. Last second my daughter who has seasons called and said get ready I am picking you up in an hour.

I said What? Her husband is from out of state and does not have the emotional ties we do said "I was there last week..take your Dad today as it means more to him!"

Now my wife and other daughter are pissed because they want to go.

Seeing Cynthia Frelund from The NFLN live from The Elwood is surreal to me, like this is really ####ing happening surreal!!!! I park for Lions & Tigers games off Gratiot by the Courts as the lots sits where my great grandfather's pharmacy was in the early 1900s and The Elwood is our lunch spot be for entering Comerica through the OF gate. LETS GO LIONS

Do you remember who she picked? Her numbers are usually pretty solid.

As a Bears fan I went through this last night. I found myself temporarily rooting for the Packers, just so the Lions would get another home game, but then I just couldn't keep it up. I just hate (am jealous of) the Packers so much..............either way, though, I'm rooting for a Lions/Bills superbowl. Would be really happy to see the Lions pull it off, as I feel they are built the right way.
