2025 Green Bay Packers Thread (2 Viewers)

Losing Reed for 6-8 weeks is a blow, but Kraft stepped up and looked great. Was nice to see Musgrave looking healthy with his opportunities too.

The story has to be the D though. Holy hell is that defensive front nasty. Gary and Parsons were knowns, but LVN, Wyatt, Wooden are holding their own. All that talk about not being able to stop the run should end now too. Really like what i saw from Nixon, the amount of pressure they're getting is his best friend, but he still had himself a game. Joe Barry is finally being erased from my memory.

I don't know what Flacco is gonna do next week, but it's not looking good for him.

To quote the Packer faithful "Thank you Jerry"!!

They get a 9 day mini bye now and it comes at a good time from the looks of things. It’s nice to get a preview of the future OL but they need Tom and Banks back asap.
It's nice to see the depth on display and showing they can win and not skip a beat with some of those guys, but definitely want to get those starters healed up and back into the lineup. Mini bye is certainly appreciated right now.

Packers are a helluva good team right now.
Hopefully they aren’t peaking too early
I don't think so. Injuries can and will happen, but they should get both Reed and Watson back in time for the Eagles in November.

If anything i think they continue to get better and better as the year goes along. Parsons hasn't even gotten going yet. Lots of good reasons to be optimistic that they're just getting going.

Feeling really good watching the lions beat up the bears. If the lions are the same team they've been and the Packers made them look like the old 0-16 lions, oh baby how good is Green Bay? Giddy up!!

Two weeks in and Green Bay looks like the best team in the NFL and certainly the NFC. It's a great day to be alive.

lol man c’mon this is bad juju.
You're probably right lol. I don't want losing to the Browns on my head. But after playing Detroit and Washington, and seeing Philly play twice my eyes sure like what they're seeing.

Eta my lions fan neighbor waited to put up his lions flag till this morning. Can't say i blame him lol.

As much as I hate to admit it, they look absolutely incredible in all areas. That defense might end up being the best in the league if they stay healthy. Once again, envious of what your squad is able to do.

Wise words from X - "There's a lot of motherf****** that start off 2-0 and late in the season they don't be worth sh*t."

. Wise words indeed.

We can pump the brakes and let it play out, but i like the odds.

Don't want to look past Cleveland this weekend and they have a great D so I'm happy to see the Oline appears healthy again.

Looking like Kraft is gonna miss this one and that sucks, but I'm interested to see what Musgrave can do as the man at TE. No Reed, no Kraft puts him in a good position to see a lot of potential targets.

Jordy upholding Brian Branch's suspension is really the icing on the cake. Such sweet poetic justice.

I'll go back to shutting up now. Running my mouth didn't get my desired result :bag:

(Still in first place though :football:)

So quiet in here for a team of this caliber and sitting in first place in the conference half way through the season. Guess that's a good thing since complaining gets more coverage and outside of the expected growing pains there's not a lot to be upset about. Great QB play, check (yes Jordan Love is playing at a very high level, the naysayers can drop it now). Great D, check (so much for a worse run D :D, Parsons is worth every penny and then some). Great coaching, check. Talent everywhere, check.

Super fun team to watch this year on both sides of the ball. Too many games playing down to the level of their competition, but they broke free from that last game which was great to see.

Schedule gets pretty tough in the second half of the season and I'm looking forward to this team taking on the challenge.

Go Pack Go!!!!!

How are you guys feeling about the #1 team in the conference at the halfway point coming into Lambeau for MNF? Seems like the recipe to beat Micah is still to have a run heavy offense, mistake free football.

I see what you did there. I feel pretty good honestly. Green Bay has a really bad habit of playing to the level of their competition.

No offense to the defending champs, but they haven't impressed much either, just like the entire NFL this season. Most teams so far this year has shown the ability to beat or be beat by any team on a given Sunday.

No excuses for yesterday, that's as bad a beat as it gets and the Green Bay offense was anemic. The defense will be just fine however and i look forward to that run heavy mistake free football if they can pull it off.

Eta. Losing Kraft for the year sucks very very badly and somebody better, maybe multiple somebody's better show up and fill the void. He was far and away the best player on offense.

I expect Saquon to run for about 45 yards……and to also have at least two wheel routes for 40+ yards each……

Plus an AJ Brown on field orgasma explosion

Appreciate the response a little tongue in cheek there from me haha.

Yeah, my team really hasn't impressed me much this year. Got a guy I work with that lives in GB, die hard guy, we were talking before the weekend games happened how surprised I was by Green Bays run defense, I think they were 1/2 overall and 4th against YPC.

Losing Kraft and Golden in the same week, I'm curious what you guys think might be the game plan. Personally, had Kraft in half my dynos so its crushing me. Musgrave I thought would be a guy but he is like, fair to say, Christian Watson health wise just as a TE?

Should be a fun game with a really big TV audience watching.

I've enjoyed watching the way you guys play and LaFleur coaching from afar over the years.

And last but not least, thanks for getting Micah out of the division :P

I'm looking forward to this game a lot. I think it'll say a lot about both teams the rest of the way.

I would imagine the game plan is a heavy dose of Jacobs (who also appears dinged up) and play great D

Musgrave was the guy that was supposed to be Kraft (maybe not the blocking part). He's had some freakish type injuries and not really the way Watson was always suffering from hammy issues prior to the ACL. He's not going to be Kraft, but i think he can step in and be a respectable fill in at TE.

Love needs to drop the Rodgers act. The fade away floaters off the back foot isn't the same. He needs to work on that and by work on that i mean stop doing it.

And I'm glad to have Parsons aboard. Guys 100mph at all times and even if it doesn't show up every week on the stat line he's highly disruptive.

The run D overall has been very stout. For all the warts that have popped up here and there they knew what they had behind Clark and the young guys filled in nicely.

Eta. I was hoping to see Reed back this week. They need him very badly with the Kraft injury.

Does anyone here EVER consider not starting Josh Jacobs....?

Out of my entire roster this year, he's pretty much as close to a "Must-Start" player as I've got. But recently, he's been extremely TD-dependent. If not for his two TD's in Weeks 8 and 9, he'd have put up some mediocre points for me. His yards per-carry has been leaving a lot to be desired this season.

I've also got Q. Judkins, K. Williams, and D. Swift at my disposal at RB. (Yes.... I am in a small league and am able to stockpile some good players. But it's a curse as well as a blessing, as I can easily make the wrong Start/Sit on any given week).

He had 15 tds last year. He has 10 tds this year. Your overthinking it. He is a set and forget RB.

Finally gave up on their defense for fantasy. They haven’t done squat. I thought they would be better for fantasy than they are.

Green Bay has one ugly looking injury report. Feeling a little less good about this one than I did earlier in the week. Gonna have to win games like this if they are gonna make a run come playoff time, but this game is gonna be a challenge and the depth continues to get tested.

Yup. They really should have taken care of business last week to get a “W.” This is a tough game.

I’ll be at Lambeau on Monday night with a co-worker, along with his son and mine. My buddy is from Philly and is a huge Eagles fan.

I’m hedging my emotional bets because I have Saquon, AJ Brown and Zach Baun on my fantasy team. So I want a Packer win, but if we lose will settle for Saquon and AJ going wild. Which means four Jalen Hurts tush push TDs are the likely outcome.

Man, something in the air makes me also feel like this is incoming
Do you think it might have to do with the fact it was the Packers that were the team to propose banning it?
Did i read your center might be out? If that's accurate how much does that hurt the tush push?
Nah, the replacement center can still facilitate a false start by the rest of the O-line. ;)

Yeah Cam Jurgens has been out for a minute, Brett Toth is the backup center. The team has sort of switched the offense to involve more under center plays, in part (IMO) bc Brett Toth is not a center, and he has issues with shotgun snaps. Its really actually helped the offense grow a little bit bc the play action is much easier to sell when you have Saquon behind the line under center.

W that said, There is a little drop off maybe in execution of the Tush Push, but the key to it is the cohesion/timing of the line and the technique more than one single player.

It's widely speculated in local sports media that the NFL asked the Packers to propose the ban. They were the perfect team to do it. They don't have an individual owner to blame and their GM Mark Murphy was retiring. They were also coming off hosting the draft.

Yeah we all know it was Uncle Roger that wants it gone. What a toolish move by him.

It's clearer and clearer. Jordan Love is not the guy.

And LaFleur might not be either. Too many years of doing too little with more.

He was working with a skeleton crew at WR. In the 3rd quarter on the PHI 40 they went for it on 4th and 9, but the defensive back turned WR had the ball hit him in the numbers that he dropped for a 1st down. That was a big play. That drop may have led to LaFleur's inconsistent decision making. Because then, in the 4th, again at the PHI 40 he punted on 4th and 11. Philly scored on that next possession.

Also, when you have the ball 4th and 1, I don't understand why teams continue to run outside. If there was only a play they could run that is almost automatic to get one yard. Who knows, maybe someday a team will design such a play.

That play would be cool but it probably would get called for illegal procedure every time

I think i agree on both points. I know this is a young team, but the inconsistency isn't new. There's no way of knowing what team will show up on a given week. The defense isn't a concern, but the offense seems to be regressing after the promise the 2023 season showed.

Love lacks the "it" factor. He's good but not the kind of qb to lift up the team around him. Even with a great D it's not enough to grind out the close games and win.

LaFleur is so predictable. There's very little creativity with this offense.

Coming into this season i was really excited, first two weeks things sure looked like it was going to be one to remember. Losing to the Browns and Panthers, while dropping two in a row at home is dog ****. If they can find a way into the playoffs it sure has the feel of a one and done team.

💯
This has been a basic, predictable and boring offense for far too many games now. Either Love isn't smart enough to run a more complicated offense, or LaFleur really isn't that bright of an offensive mind and his success only came from having Aaron Rodgers. All of this could be true, but I highly doubt none of it is.

I'm not sure about Love not being the answer. But for an offensive coach the Packer's offense sure lacks creativity or imagination.
The product they're putting on the field is incredibly boring. It's hard to make it through the 1st quarter. Before halftime I've switched over to Golden Girls reruns.
