We shall see. In any case, it was more important that LV loses this game to get that rebuild going. There is a lot to be said in favor of consistently winning one score games.

Winning them yes... not surviving them. There is a lot to be said in favor of consistently winning one score games.
They can not win like they have with that line and the refs actually calling illegal formations and holding. Their line can't play SB level ball without the cheating. It looks like the NFL finally said "look guys, we can't act like we don't see it when it is so blatant anymore... we have to unfortunately call these against Swift's team"The Chiefs are getting lucky wins but are not winning a game in the playoffs. SB winning teams crush teams like the Raiders and Panthers.Well.... with a depleted roster we took them to the end and should have won. Kind of best of both worlds.... the team is fighting and getting better and we keep a record towards a higher pick.
Now if the refs continue to enforce false starts, illegal formation and off sides against the Chefs all of which they tend to ignore.... this Chef team will not get the SB again.
11 of them? 14-0 since the Raiders beat them last Christmas.Winning them yes... not surviving them. There is a lot to be said in favor of consistently winning one score games.

Must draft moves without a name is how bottom teams stay bottom teams.Like I said up thread, I’m happy to have AOC do well, put up a fight and show a spark. I want him to be our backup QB next year….but we must draft a potential franchise QB in the top of the 1st round next draft. Let AOC and the rook fight it out.
Pressure mounting
Tom Telesco, Las Vegas Raiders
Telesco is still in his first season with the Raiders, but they are 2-9 and have taken steps backward. That creates scrutiny around Telesco and Antonio Pierce, who was hired as the permanent head coach in January after an encouraging interim stint. Pierce is on the shakiest footing, though he continues to argue that a weak quarterback situation is the biggest thing holding the Raiders back. Gardner Minshew was 2-7 this season before suffering a broken collarbone on Sunday; the Raiders are preparing to start Aidan O’Connell (0-2) Friday for the first time since he suffered a broken thumb Oct. 20.
Could Tom Brady, who now has great influence within the organization as a minority owner, want his own guy running the show at coach and GM? If so, that could lead to a short stint for Telesco as well. For now, though, the GM can hang his hat on the fact that he drafted promising starters with his first three selections last spring (tight end Brock Bowers, center Jackson Powers-Johnson and right tackle Delmar Glaze).
Sanders or Ward. Draft one. End of story.Must draft moves without a name is how bottom teams stay bottom teams.Like I said up thread, I’m happy to have AOC do well, put up a fight and show a spark. I want him to be our backup QB next year….but we must draft a potential franchise QB in the top of the 1st round next draft. Let AOC and the rook fight it out.
AOC is awful bro.The more the offense plays getting away from Getsy's trainwreck offense and under AOC the more potential I see in it. Now, do I want an upgrade over AOC? Yes but let's say we are in a position to reach for a QB and pray or grab an other playmaker like Bowers and roll with AOC then sign me up for the later. Telesco made a pretty good pick in Herbie and pretty good picks (including Bowers) so I am not going to riot if we don't draft a QB in the 1st. But all that said, yes, I would very much like an All Pro QB
I feel your pain... as a Bears fan, they are inventing to ways to lose each week and the Raiders one upped them this week.Such a raider loss.![]()
I put it on coaches for not getting the play in. And AOC for clapping for the play. The guard and center were simply reacting to AOC clapping. So dumb. But in a way I’m glad they lost.
Seems only normal to discuss the week’s opponent, especially when it’s the most hated rival. Not sure why people care what posters discuss in here. It is a discussion board.Who gives a **** about the Chefs and how they win or barely win or get so much help from the refs to win take that **** to their thread.
The cupboard isn't bare. This isn't the typical 2 win team, and it doesn't feel nearly like prior 2 win seasons have. This seems like the kind of team that everyone looks at in the spring and says "you know, most teams that lose that many 1 score games regress to the mean and that means ...". A lot depends on what we do at QB of course, and we need to bring in a real offensive system and staff, but this could be a less dire recovery than it looks like for a 2 win team. We have some pieces in place and we just need to keep stacking pieces up.
Was just coming in to post this--with a twist. AOC should have started from the get-go this season. He was the incumbent going in and Minshew did nothing to earn the starting role. I'm still stunned Pierce went with Minshew considering AOC played a large part in him getting the "permanent" head coaching gig. But as we've seen all season, if there's a fork in the road and one way is heaven and the other is hell, Pierce will choose the latter.Like I said up thread, I’m happy to have AOC do well, put up a fight and show a spark. I want him to be our backup QB next year….but we must draft a potential franchise QB in the top of the 1st round next draft. Let AOC and the rook fight it out.
Yea, losing Kingsbury was rough and then we were stuck with Getsy. The wide zone may work but I think you need a more athletic Oline. The change really messed up our line play and that system is way too much east/west running. Notice how much north/south running we were doing with the Turners in charge. I think we will see improved offensive play as the Turners are able to install a better offensive system that is more fitting.IMO the Raiders screwed up the vibe and momentum they had last season and going into this season. The team was pumped to get back at it all off season, then the Raiders let the OC go and hired the train wreck from Chicago . They replaced AOC with the hippie , and that was the nail in the coffin , bye bye good vibes .Hello reinvent itself .
Not just better than Getsy.... tons better than Getsy. Is the greatest offensive mind that the game has ever seen? No. But in comparison to Getsy, there is no comparison.I think we should put the "too bad we missed out on Kingsbury" narrative to bed. Once again we're seeing a Kingsbury offense start hit and fade down the stretch. That was his m.o. in Arizona and Texas Tech before that. For whatever reason he can't sustain momentum in his offenses.
Better than Getsy, sure but not a franchise savior.
Obviously AP doesn't have the connection to Forbes as he did with Jones but Jack was a big get off waivers. What do we have to lose? I agree 100%. Put the waiver request in and let's see. Worst case happens we cut him.Commanders releasing 2023 1st round pick (and I thought Young was bad) CB Emmanuel Forbes, we need to go get him and see what he's got. He's got a ton of talent to get selected there and we need all the juice we can add. His cap number is only $2.1M and $2.3M the next two years so take a peek at what he's got.
You just don't ever pass a chance to pick at Telesco do you? We're in here celebrating a potentially monumental draft success (you asked a couple months ago how we feel about his first year - well the answer is ECSTATIC) and you're just digging up reasons to toss shade at the guy. He's only listed as a "pressure mounting" because of the Tom Brady Control Freak narrative which may or may not be pure ********. Give it a rest.

I am fine with you. Your posts in the past have been thoughtful and informative. You haven't just taken cheap shots but you have your position. Posting an article from The Athletic is fair game in my view. You just don't ever pass a chance to pick at Telesco do you? I posted an article referencing the Raiders GM in the Raiders thread. I didn't write it. I was surprised to read it. I figured Raiders fans might be interested, and it might stimulate some discussion.
Feel free to ignore it and/or ignore me.
There are dozens of articles every day referencing the Raiders GM, coaches, former CEO's (here's a cool one!), cheerleaders, players, owner, and all other things Raider yet the only ones you post are the ones that shed negative light on Telesco. It's clear you're not after Raider dialogue, but negative Telesco dialogue that happens to coincide with his Raider employment.I posted an article referencing the Raiders GM in the Raiders thread. That's only part of the problem. The other is accountability but that's a double-edged sword. There are zero consequences of being a terrible ref. If you do create consequences, you need a feeder program to replace the incompetent ones from. That's not at all difficult/impossible to do, it's just an expensive one with no revenue attached to it.The NFL needs to make refs full time employees
Telesco is not the problem. The last decade of drafts, coaches, and GMs are the problem. It takes years to dig out of a talent hole.I am damn happy with this draft and it is hard to see firing a GM after this draft class even with a crappy record. You don't fire GM's after one year and even more so when they knocked their draft out of the park.

Interesting and makes sense. As a casual observer of football for 7 decades I know a false start kills everything that follows it. But about everything I've read and heard about this play in the press says they ended up getting the call right so I don't know.Raiders Officiating DEBACLE Is Even WORSE Than You Think
This is pretty wild regarding the last play of the Raiders /Chiefs Black Friday game
Inadvertent whistle also kills the play and everything that follows. The whistle clearly blows before the fumble recovery.Interesting and makes sense. I think it's telling how O'Connell clutches his head in an "oh, no" sign of resignation when he's on the ground like he thinks the game is over. VERY reminiscent to how one Thomas Edward Patrick Brady Jr. slowly walked off the field in resignation like he thought the game was over when Woodson knocked the ball from his hands and Biekert recovered it.
Funny how the Raiders got "screwed" in both circumstances.
The refs helped the Raiders this time! LV does not need do anything stupid such as win more football games this season. This is nothing that every other coach in the league does. Everyone wants three more yards, or to put it on the other hash, or to bleed it down to 3 seconds. I don't actually like it either, I'd prefer to kick on 3rd down with 6 seconds so that if there's a bad snap you can cover it up, call timeout, and reload it. But to blame AP for this is silly.Something that fries me about the last play that has nothing to do with clapping or the refs or anything of that nature. It's the fact the Raiders are scared to death of Mahomes (or at least Pierce is). Sure, he did something amazing with 13 seconds left in one game and has engineered a number of awesome drives in the waning moments of other games.
But in this case there's 16 seconds left with a kick still to come (that's at least 3 seconds, if not 4 or 5). Then there's a kickoff that just HAS to be put in the field of play to run more time off the clock. So what are we looking at then, 8 seconds to go, 10 if you're extremely generous? Sure the clown for KC can fair catch the kickoff back at the, say, 10 or 15, and give Mahomes, maybe, his precious 13 seconds (but probably less). I'd take my chances he can't get 50 yards with whatever time is remaining.
Not to mention the weather has affected the other kicker tremendously and it's not Butker that would be kicking but some guy who's been hurt and in street clothes since Week 7.
But far be it for Pierce to be that forward thinking. Instead, he thought he had to get another 3-5 seconds off the clock before the kick. Asinine. He may be from Compton but he coaches like he's from Mayberry.
I'm excited/nervous for the next draft. Having four picks in the top 80 is exciting and can speed up a rebuilt, but we have to hit on them or I might die of old age before we make the playoffs again.Telesco is not the problem. Always. My boy had a play that was killed because of an 'inadvertent whistle' though I think the ref just plain got it wrong and blew it too early. There was a backwards pass that we blew up and recovered the football. The play was whistled dead before the recovery.Inadvertent whistle also kills the play and everything that follows. RB- though it could be just because of going to the wide zone under Getsy destroyed the running game and isn't the RB's fault.... but still, we could upgrade there.Admittedly, I haven't spent much time watching the team this year. Other than QB what do you think our biggest needs are?

That's a good list. I was really surprised Zamir flamed out. A new WR is a must, with a ton of cap space, maybe Tee Higgins is in play.RB- though it could be just because of going to the wide zone under Getsy destroyed the running game and isn't the RB's fault.... but still, we could upgrade there.Admittedly, I haven't spent much time watching the team this year. WR- Meyer is a borderline #1, Tucker is a good speed guy and seems to be developing further but Turner is a depth guy. We need more top end WR talent and depth.
OL- I actually like the potential of our OL with LT- Miller, LG- Powers-Johnson, C- James, RG- Parham, RT- Munford/Glaze but Miller is starting to get up there in age and LG/RT is more promise than production right now. You can always upgrade OL.
CB- Maybe.... it is hard to tell because of injuries. But worst-case scenario, if you add to CB then you add depth.
Depth- pretty much everywhere.
Yeah I hope we take a hard hard look over the last few games. We know what Mattison is, a solid performer, but let's see if Zeus can be more.Zamir's performance has to be more about the play calling of Getsy. While sample size was/is small, the drop off is shocking
I agree. What we saw from him last year and then this year was night and day. But it was a small sampling last year and a small sampling this year so it is hard for me to be definitive. Mattison is decent but I think we know what he is. Abdullah put in some good work this last game but I wonder if he is blocking the development of Laube. I really like what I see from McCormick. He balled out in pre-season and was balling out when he got the chance in this last game. I have to assume his passpro is what is holding him back.Zamir's performance has to be more about the play calling of Getsy. While sample size was/is small, the drop off is shocking
It's not really a big deal. I understand it was an "on the field" comparison. But, seriously? You have the Todd Christiansen comparison staring you in the face and you go with Aaron Josef Hernandez, the bus driving double murderer. Come on, man.During his Wednesday press conference, Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce was asked if there’s a tight end Bowers reminds him of.
“No, not this one. This guy is different,” ...
“No, because his body type is different. I mean, I think there was some comparisons early on to Aaron Hernandez, of that type,
Straight outa ComptonReally Antonio? This is the best you could come up with when talking about how special Brock Bowers is?
