2025 Las Vegas Raiders thread - ☠ Jersey number is SRS BZNS ☠ (3 Viewers)

I prefer the trenches too but let me ask this... if you had the opportunity to draft a Tomlinson or a Calvin Johnson or another Kolton Miller.... which would you take?
Duh..leatherwood or Gallery.

Or………Anyone with a serious injury. Foot injuries preferred. Bonus points for life/career threatening injuries of the neck or heart.

Also…… DO. NOT. TAKE. THE. CONSENSUS. PICK.

Watch it be Will Johnson.
Gallery was pretty close to consensus and McClain absolutely was.
My bullet points are separate entities. You liked the ruggs pick. 🤮

I did and it looked to be paying off up to the accident.

I was ok with the Ruggs pick, until I wasn’t.

Yep he's a legit talent and we have a QB that can leverage that now. This should help churn out first downs, kill clock, and keep the D from having to play 90 snaps a game.

Who ya gonna cover , Brock or Jeanty ?

Good luck with that
Double both and see if the Raiders can beat you with uhhh...[opens Rolodex] Jakobi Myers and Tre Tucker[/closes Rolodex].
Myers is solid.... one of those low end #1 or high end #2 guys and Tre is at very least a field stretcher.... the real problem is we have NO WR's after them. Assuming the Oline improves (I think that is more probable than it is not with the change of scheme) Jeanty our workhorse with Mostert a good compliment to him then the first order of business for teams will be to stop the run. If you focus on that, it is going to be dang hard to keep track of Bowers and then Myers can do some damage and Tre can get down field quick. Jeanty really is a difference maker.

Somehow the Ravens, Bills, Eagles and Chiefs all end up with stud players who fell.
Great players always fall to the late 1st.... when you are winning that usually means you don't have holes to fill and then can take the BPA and keep stacking things. Eagles are on a roll. I think they are well positioned to supplant the Chefs as the next team to beat for the next few years. They have an embarrassment of riches right now.

We HAVE to go get Sanders.

Best bet to do that would have been with the Commandos or Iggles. Now they have Cleveland with two of the first four picks tomorrow.

I could see a scenario where Deion and Shede scared Cleveland off long ago, as that is probably the last place they want to go. And if so, no way they trade with Pittsburgh, so maybe they give the Raiders a decent deal to move up to keep him away from the Steelers.

Lots of speculation here, I know. Should be an interesting start tomorrow.

One intangible that I love about Jeanty in an age of transfer portals.... the dude stayed at Boise St all three years. 5.1, 6.1 and then 7 YPC.... he easily could have gone into the transfer and gone to a SEC or Big Ten and made way more NIL. There is something to be said about that and that $$$ is clearly not his primary driver.

Spytek mentioned looking to trade down tomorrow as they see a lot of good players on their board still and see if they could grab a couple of them

Here are Maxx and Jax Powers in the lead up to the Jeanty pick. It was awesome hearing them wish the pick into existence, then seeing them over the top when it happened!!!

If we don't take Sanders here are my next best alternatives:

Luther Burden WR Missouri - Maik Nabers clone. Yes I said it. He's getting h8 because of a HUGE 2024 dropoff but WR stats are a derivative of the overall offense. Missouri's passing yards went from 3,671 in 2023 to 2,535 in 2024. Drafting him would almost make me forget about Sanders. Almost.

Will Johnson CB Michigan - this was a guy I was originally listing at 6. He fell due to injury concerns but this is a top 10 talent. Huge get in the 2nd.

Mike Green EDGE Marshall - Strange story but TLDR is that he's just now coming into his own at EDGE and he's already borderline dominant. If he's got one iota of Maxx's drive and energy he'll be a superstar.

TJ Sanders DT South Carolina - Might be the best IDL pass rusher in the draft. Size/anchor/power/stamina concerns but physical maturity/growth can solve those - and if they weren't there he's be off the board by 10. I prayed for Mason Graham in the 1st but he was gone so this would be a nice consolation prize.

Honorable mention:

Nick Emmanwori S South Carolina - Freak athlete and talent. The kind of guy that shows you just how good your DC is. Coach him up and use him right and he changes how games are played. This pick scares me just a tad because there's a lot of risk. He's the kind of guy that's gotten by on talent for so long can he make the step up? Why wasn't he more dominant in college? Why did we hear about Malaki Starks as a freshman and Nick Emmanwori in November of his junior year? But the potential is worth the risk in the 2nd. How's this for a scary scouting comp - "Think a more explosive version of Kam Chancellor with better man coverage skills."? Wowza.

There's a long list of guys in this tier that are right behind the above that I wouldn't hate and would trust our FO on too but any of the above would have me doing cartwheels.

Nice list.

No TreVeyon Henderson? Obviously with Jeanty in tow he'd be superfluous but isn't he up there with the BPAs?

Jalen Milroe?

Good list. I wonder just how bad the medical is on Will Johnson. I'm hoping for Emmanwori.
