2025 Las Vegas Raiders thread - ☠ Jersey number is SRS BZNS ☠ (8 Viewers)

Cut Carlson..that’s lame
Screw that. He's a vet, he's earned that number. Some rook that's done nothing isn't entitled to ****. I think it's lame rookies even offer to do this, go make your own mark.
It’s a kicker….

We’ve refined the schtick in my friend/family group to simple call someone “JerkStore” and everyone gets it.

Even knowing that Coach Pete is the most positive guy on the Planet, and the fact that I was a "No RB @#6" guy, this gets me very excited.

I am a firm believer that people of a certain age should never buy jerseys of current players (I only own one sports jersey and it's a Kurt Rambis), if Jeanty is the guy Chad thinks he is I may violate that rule.

I think we now have our best back since Allen/Jackson.

Easy capt optimist I hope you’re right, but let’s not go crazy now. Let’s see him be better than McFadden first. I just he brings the joy and raider was that Crockett did

Sources: The #Raiders and 2x First-Team All-Pro punter AJ Cole have agreed to a 4-year, $15.8M extension with $11M guaranteed, making him the highest-paid punter in the NFL.Cole had one year remaining on his current deal, so he’s now under contract for the next 5 seasons at just under $20M
Take the all pro players where you can get them.

And if Jeanty wants his number he should pony up, yo.

The Athletic’s Tashan Reed reports Raiders offensive coordinator Chip Kelly is “moving receivers around a lot” in OTAs.

Kelly, entering his first year as Vegas’ OC, has moved Jakobi Meyers and rookie Jack Bech from the outside to the slot in early practices. This suggests both receivers — along with Brock Bowers — could see varied use in what is expected to be a run-first Kelly offense. Meyers in his two years with the Raiders has played from the slot at a 31 percent rate, way down from his days in New England, which saw Meyers operate from the slot on two-thirds of his routes. Bech during his breakout 2024 season at TCU ran 27 percent of his routes from the slot. In 2024, Meyers ranked 40th out of 66 qualifying receivers in yards per route run from the slot, a key measure of pass-catching efficiency. That’s bound to rise with Geno Smith under center for Vegas in 2025.

I watched a little of the presser yesterday before having to perform Daddy Taxi duties....

One thing I really enjoyed hearing was Chip talking about Mayer and indicated that they would be using more two TE sets saying something along the lines of "I checked, you can use two tight ends. So we will. You can even use three so we might do that."

Makes too much sense to me not to do. We have two tight ends that can catch. We got a RB. So, you go heavy set like that and if we run have a couple of big guys out there and then we can pass out of it too and hurt you bad. How is a defense going to defend that? Not many teams have guys who can cover both Bowers and Mayer AND hold up against them in the run game.

Yes. Did you watch Gardner Minshew, Jimmy Garopolo, Brian Hoyer and Aidan O'Connell?

Maxx on his pod mentioned Darien Porter and Thornton as impressing him.

OTAs don't mean much, but really cool to hear good things about two guys i thought might be more project types from the draft

Projects or not, this team is thin enough at their positions where they will likely be learning on the job soon. Porter, especially, I am getting hyped on, but I could see a world with Thornton as the opening day deep threat every team needs.

Jacobi Meyers said a lot of positive things about Thronton's reciever skills.

"I like him a lot, actually. I didn't know much about him coming out. But now that he's here, just seeing the different parts of his game, like, he's not just a guy that can run fast. He has some real receiver capabilities. I'm excited to help him grow and push him along and just see what he can do on the field when the pads come on".

Games I have circled as possibly attending this year: Titans, Jags, and Browns. Ticket prices are on the very low end and practical compared to the Cowgirls prices. Hopefully I've not been let down by their game play when October comes around :kicksrock:

When the Vegas deal was first on the menu, I figured a great benefit to having my home team in Vegas was going to games was going to be pretty affordable, for what you get. It's a lot more expensive to do Vegas than it used to be.

It's still better than planning trips to Indy or Detroit, but flights to Vegas, and the good hotels have really jumped in price

I may go back to road games. Vegas kinda sucks. I don’t like gambling. The tailgate blows except lot j and the prices are just stoooooopid

I have read that TE Qadir Ismail has been impressing in practices. I'll have to keep an eye on him during pre-season games to see how he looks with pads on.

yeah, I can usually get a reasonable round trip flight out of Oakland and as long as I go with my dad the rooms are comp'd at Ceasar properties for us (combo our player cards) so it takes some of the sting out. That said the Steelers game I went to 2 years ago was lame since it was basically a Steelers home game and ticket prices were ridiculous.

So, the Raiders acquired one DT in FA (Leki Fotu) and drafted 4th & 6th round DTs.

This is FBGs depth charts for the DL:
LDE: Maxx Crosby, Charles Snowden, Ovie Oghoufo, Jah Joyner
RDE: Malcolm Koonce, Tyree Wilson, Andre Carter, Jahfari Harvey
LDT: Christian Wilkins (Q), Leki Fotu, Tonka Hemingway, Anthony Booker, Zachary Carter, Treven Ma'ae
RDT: Adam Butler (Q), Jonah Laulu, JJ Pegues, Laki Tasi

Looking at this I see a DE rotation of Maxx (they need to get him to come off the field more. 95%+ snap counts are way too much), Koonce (because we all hope he is a gem) and Tyree.

No one else on the roster is screaming for a massive opportunity.

My prediction/belief is: Graham and Carroll love Tyree and he has a huge breakout season. I predict double digit sacks. He had 4.5 on a 50% snap rate last year, I predict 10+ on an 80% snap rate and Koonce becomes the rotation guy.

Seriously, why else didn't they address such a thin position?

FLAG PLANTED!!!
