If you take his combined 2 seasons in TB, he played 15 games, 87 receptions, 1030 yards and 8 TDs. That's less than a full season of games. Not bad for a guy who was considered the #3 WR in TB. Plus they won a Super Bowl, which Brady was all about, so I'm pretty sure Brady is OK with it despite the way it ended. Would have been perfect if Brady had retired after 2020.

Tyreek, although something of a lunatic is not completely bat-shiot crazy like AB was.

I would be fine with any one Lockett, Cooper or Allen filling that FA TBD slot. Sure they are all old, but they can all still contribute to a run first, TE centric offence. If the o-line can show some improvement, which is not out of the question, this offence can be solid. I’m more worried about the defence coming together.

Meyers is a top end WR2 and Bowers is the best TE in the league. If you added a premier RB to that, you can get by with a less than ideal WR1 which Lockett, Cooper or Allen are now at this point in their careers.

For the defense, really the only player that I really wanted to retain that we didn't was Spillane. I would have preferred to retain Moehrig and Hobbs but not at the contracts that they got. Chaisson was a "I would like to keep him for his potential" but with Koonce back it isn't a huge hit to the defense. Graham knows all these guys very well so I am sure they knew what they wanted and didn't want from his perspective. Retaining Koonce and Butler was huge and at the price we got them, bargains. Adding Chinn at his price point is awesome. Johnson, Roberts and Stokes... I am not exactly over the moon on them but hopeful they will be good enough. The big difference for this team will be having Koonce and Wilkins back (hopefully 100%) because if they are good to go along with Crosby, that is one of the best starting 4 defensive lines in the league.

AB is probably the best WR of the 2010s, I can't think of one I would take over him.

The point is AB in 2020 didn't do much to ensure that SB victory. And they still win it with someone else manning that position. Scottie Miller had as much impact as AB towards that AB win. At that point in his career, through every fault of his own, he was, at most, a replacement level player.

I’m excited to see the front four together for a whole season and agree they are one of the best in the league. It is the back half linebackers and secondary that has me worried. I’m also hopeful they change their scheme or philosophy this season, especially on third down. We seem to regularly sit back on 3rd and long which I’m sure sets the team back mentally too. A healthy line will help that but an overall more aggressive scheme is what I’m hoping to see.

The only guy I could see right now the Raiders taking over the best player in the draft, Jeanty, is Jalon Walker. He's a MAN.
I'm nervous about those chess piece type guys, they never really pan out, but he's something.

That's what $81M in cap space will do. Not to mention that they have nothing but Maye and Henry on the offensive side of the ball (they also pay Rhamondre a decent salary), and you've got a recipe for spending on defense and non-premium positions like LB.

Veteran DL Leki Fotu is signing with the #Raiders, per source.- On IR Most of last year.

Free agent nose tackle Leki Fotu has agreed to terms with the Raiders, Tom Pelissero of NFL Media reports.

Fotu, 26, recently visited the Raiders and Bills last week.

The Cardinals drafted Fotu in the fourth round in 2020, and he spent his first four seasons in Arizona. Fotu started 21 of the 56 games he played for the Cardinals.

He totaled 89 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, seven quarterback hits, 3.5 sacks, three pass defensed, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery with the Cardinals.

A year ago, Fotu signed with the Jets as a free agent.

He appeared in only two games with one start last season, making three tackles.

I don't think Spotrac has Wilkins modified contract yet. We have $50m after the contract restructure, and Wilkins cap number is down to $18m from $33m. The Restructure makes it harder to move on from Wilkins if he has a down year and impacted the cap for next year. I don't know why they made this move unless they are going to sign a bunch of left over free agents after the draft. Or a big trade?

Not really. Unused cap space rolls over, so it he's a $20M hit this year, or $5M this year and $15M dead year next, it's still the same $20M over two years. This just frees up $15M this year but there doesn't look like any use for it now? Had they done this in early March and then splurged more in FA I would get it, but this just looks like spinning dimes.

Geno's extension is coming and just because they didn't splash money around in the over spending days of free agency doesn't mean that they aren't going to be making more moves. The more cash you have to spend the more flexibility you have to make moves as they come.

Curious move since they didn't need the cap space when they did it and don't appear to have any plans to spend much more. We're currently 10th in cap space with over $36M available. Geno's already on the books for 2025 so any extension isn't likely to impact it either. Very odd IMO.

I don't think Spotrac has Wilkins modified contract yet. We have $50m after the contract restructure, and Wilkins cap number is down to $18m from $33m. The Restructure makes it harder to move on from Wilkins if he has a down year and impacted the cap for next year. I don't know why they made this move unless they are going to sign a bunch of left over free agents after the draft. Or a big trade?

Geno's extension is coming and just because they didn't splash money around in the over spending days of free agency doesn't mean that they aren't going to be making more moves. The more cash you have to spend the more flexibility you have to make moves as they come.

Yup. I am not 100% Geno gets a legit extension, I could see something with a similar structure to Darnold that looks good on paper but is actually a 1-2 year "prove it" deal.

But there are now quite a few talented veterans who likely priced themselves out of the initial market and now realize the money is drying up.

Some veterans like Scherff or Simmons (Amari & Diggs) may have enough of a war chest to wait until injuries start hitting teams when OTAs begin.

Younger guys like Jedrick Willis, Asante Samuel and Julian Blackmon may have more financial incentive to take a deal sooner than later. I would love the Raiders to go after all three of those guys.

Pretty much agree with all that but I'm willing to take a swing on Amari. I don't expect a dominant #1 WR or even a true #1 anymore but, IMO people are overly optimistic on Tre Tucker. I'm not, he seems like a one trick pony/gadget guy. He's a lot more Tavon Austin than Wes Welker IMO. Jakobi needs help at WR. Bowers is great but, IMO, not enough.

Lockett makes sense for more so the relationship connections to Carroll and Smith but he is a bit up there in age but more importantly has shown a steady decline in production.

Agreed except we need more than one WR. We have Meyers and Tucker now. Granted, having Bowers is kind of a cheat code that helps but we are woefully thin at WR right now. (It also makes me confused on why we reportedly shoped Mayer considering if we are that thin at WR why not keep two good TE's and go 12 personnel a lot?).

I like Lockett as an addition, not a solution.

Your point is very well-taken, but I think they go Jeanty. You can't go into a season with Zamir White, Sincere McCormick, Raheem Mostert, and Dylan Laube as your running back room on a Pete Carroll-coached team. Mostert is the best of those and I think he'll be thirty-three.

Well, maybe you can take a guy later on in the draft to compete with those guys, I guess, but do you really think Carroll is going to abide that without protestation? I was going to say something about Brady, but he functioned without a good RB room for years. Aside from Corey Dillon, NE totally skimped at RB.

There was a ton of talk in here, by people more knowledgeable than I about such things, that Luke Getsy really did Zamir a disservice switching to a zone blocking scheme. Apparently Zamir can excel in a power blocking scheme (or maybe it's the other way around) if the last four games in 2023 are any indication.

He probably isn't a game changer but with a good scheme and competent QB play he can probably manage the position and he has some upside.

Tets draft stock has sermingly been falling. I have seen several times that he struggles against press which scares the crap out of me for any NFL receiver but more so for a bigger guy that isn't known for elite speed. If you can't get off the line, you can't be a NFL receiver.
