2025 Miami Dolphins - 1-6, Currently hold the #2 pick in the draft. (22 Viewers)

My stance has not changed today
Tight game, think Miami will have a good chance to win in the 4th Q
Sanders' leg could play a critical role in the outcome of this game
Please Lord keep Tua healthy, that's all MoP ask of you, they can overcome all obstacles but they cannot replace Tua

Go Phins!

We're on to Cleveland at Hard Rock

Revenge game fro Brissett
Revenge game for the paying fans in the stands

MMcD needs to clean up some things, as a rookie HC

… that said. I feel like we’ve been waiting for this for a long long time. an offense that is a threat to score on every possession and a defense that holds when the chips are down

You need one of these and then I thought of this song which got kind of big on Miami Vice

The offense is fun to watch.

What the hell happened to our Defense? Roberts & Baker haven't been able to cover a RB or QB out of the backfield all year long - it's pathetic. They need to seriously upgrade LBers going into next year. After a 1-7 start last year the defense did turn it around the 2nd half. Can only hope they do the same after the much needed BYE coming next weekend after the Browns come to town.

Other than the blocked punt the special teams unit has not been so special this year at all.

Love Wilson already

One of the biggest surprises to me is how meh it's been.
TBH tho I don't want anyone else returning punts, until the playoffs at least ... everyone else is too valuable in their main roles.

Aside from 2 throws - the underthrow to Waddle at the end of the game, and perhaps the throw to Smythe on the drive before - Tua was making good throws, many were big time like the TD to Waddle. Yes, Wilson looks like a good complement to Mostert.

On defense, Kohou made a great stop on a WR screen squeezing between players, and seemed to be in close contact with the WRs throughout. X got burned again for a TD on a perfect pass from Fields. Wilkins made some nice stops, Phillips came close many times and his punt block was the difference in the game. But the LBs ... maybe it's time in the next 2 games vs CLE and HOU to see what Tindall has.

I would love to do a summary of my thoughts about the game but I am overwhelmed with emotion this morning.
I understand others feeling shocked this morning that we are 6-3, talking Playoffs, heck with Buffalo losing, we're only .5 game behind them, have the same number of wins and we have already beaten Buffalo at Hard Rock. We're not just talking a 3-week Road Tour to get to the Championship, we're talking potentially winning the Division and a possible home game Round 1, actually ALL of IT, home field and the whole 9 yards, all of it is there for the taking and on the table, all Miami has to do is win.
You say well that's obvious for all teams but Miami is now 12-1 over Tua's last 13-14 games? Marino went 14-2 once, he's getting very close to doing some really special things here in Miami.
I think Tua might be better than Kirk Cousins, i mention Kirk because i watched him yesterday, that guy is tiny on the video of him flying home with his team. We say Tua is not big enough but the Vikes have had success for a few years now with Cousins and they have stuck with him despite disappointments and they are now being hyped as a SB contender.

I'll break down more Xs and Os in other posts, I'm pleased they won the game, they were up 35-25 and looked like they were in control and then they did some peculiar things late. I don't know how you pass over a FG try despite missing the one earlier, it was about an XP attempt, extend to 6 and force Chicago to score a TD, thought the Bears were going to get in FG range at least and send us to OT 35-35 but that didn't happen.

So nice that we won another close road game. I'm not being sarcastic, this is a new thing for Miami and I'm thrilled we are winning road games. B2B Motown and Chi-town, i'll take it especially when we saw Detroit knock off Aaron Rodgers and the Packers(Christmas-Hard Rock) and the Bears had recently marched into Foxboro in a Primetime slot and won by like 20 points so don't tell me a couple close wins vs the NFC North isn't a good barometer for this team, ********! They already beat Bills and Ravens, it's good to see them handle their business vs teams on paper they should beat.

I don't care about the style points right now...but there were plenty of style point on offense

Fact is Miami had the same issue with Fields in the preseason game we played against him last year, and to be honest, this team has no answer for a running QB not names Lamar.

Now, with that being said, Miami's O is as legit as they come, and the combo of Tua, Mike McD, and all that speed are really something to watch and enjoy.

Tua evaluation as I have been very slow to praise or criticize, mostly just want to observe.
Imagine if Tua had Coach McDaniels when he first entered the league? He's playing catch up to prove he's the right guy in Year 3 but he was behind due to very poor offensive coaching. That **** they ran with 2 guys as OC, then some combo, guys that were coaching the OL were fired early on, Flores was running things old school and was not interested in having a prolific offense at all. Phins are under New Management, at least in the coaching and we are finding out that Tua could be very special. I'm not 100% there yet, I just know we function and play a lot better when he is on the field, let's just go with that for now.

If I saw this once I saw it 10x or more throughout, Tua stepping up into a pocket where the Center and Guards were creating huge open lanes for Tua to throw straight down the middle of the field. Between the numbers is where he makes his living and he does it very well.

-My 1st thought, why don't defenses blitz Tua right up the middle and not allow him to be comfortable? He's just throwing quick and pinpoint darts thru the middle of the defense. That's exactly what Tua and coaching staff design for him to do/succeed and it seems to be working. He's not throwing over DL/LB, Tua is throwing the ball and sometimes there isn't anyone in front of him, I was in shock sometimes. Is that normal or something you see other teams design?

No sacks, no turnovers, Tua lost the ball once but Miami recovered and of course there were no interceptions and not really any balls that were close to being picked off, he was on the money yesterday. I think Tua completed his first 11 or 12 passes, that's incredible.

Is Kohou, the undrafted rookie from Texas AM Commerce, our #1 CB?

>>Highest-graded #Dolphins in their Week 9 victory at Chicago:
WR, Tyreek Hill - 93.3
WR, Jaylen Waddle - 85.4
QB, Tua Tagovailoa- 81.3
CB, Kader Kohou - 81.2<<

The OL gave up no sacks, the running game looked decent, I'd like to know what these guys graded out at.
Brandon Shell has taken Austin Jackson's starting spot IMO.
Greg little started at LG, could not have been a severe downgrade from Liam
Eich and Jackson have a lot of experience and starts under their belts at this point, well Jackson not so much this season.
One of them and only one of them can be the starting LG, likely Eich whenever he returns but I would push Jackson over to LG where he was decent and let him learn more alongside Armstead while we can still squeeze a few more regular season starts out of him.

Was delighted Armstead could start for us and he needs the upcoming Bye week as much as anyone.
Maybe even give him the Texans game off before the long road trip out West, like after Cleveland he doesn't have to lift a finger for 2-3 weeks, that might help him out.

I'd never even heard of that school until he signed. Still don't know what their mascot is.

He moved from Africa to America at age nine and had trouble with the language when he arrived. His first language is French.
Kohou’s motivation is his parents, who came to this country “with nothing.”

He's an interesting guy and slowly pushing Byron Jones off his starting spot and maybe the team come 2023.
I hope is and when Jones can play again for Miami, i hope they ease him in as the Nickelback and let Kohou remain the starter until he proves he can't do the job.

LOOK at the movement by Brandon Shell to clear the way for Mostert's rushing TD!
If you scroll up a couple post, I bolded the part to match what you have on video.
Again, outstanding stuff you are posting up in here.

I think that is Angelo Blackson-DT that he knocks out of there.
Shell is a prime example of a savvy veteran that lines up to the right of Hunt-PFF darling and Connor Williams at Center, also high rank on PFF and maybe that elevates Shell's game or he has confidence he doesn't need to help those guys and can focus on whoever is in front of him. I like his technique and he looks menacing when he is sitting in his stance ready to block. I cannot warm up to Jackson jumping back in there at RT.

MMcD presser...
No change on Byron Jones
Austin Jackson will be on the practice field
Cleveland-Bye-Houston...I'd like to see where we are in 3 weeks on this front.
Jackson can be on the practice field, next guy up or No 6 with plenty of snaps under his belt at this point but I would not hand him back the Right Tackle spot, Brandon Shell has earned the right to keep it for now.

Can only ask my Dolphin breathern:

12 team 1 pt ppr dynasty league in it’s 18 year.

I have been offered:

Tua
Tony
Hockenson

For

Olave
Pickett
Conklin

Jeeez…….I am rebuilding. Have two first rounders next year.

I took Olave, London and Pierce this year.

Olave is talented but I don't see the Saints with many answers right now at QB, and they win enough games they never have the No 1 pick.
Conklin is having some success but at the expense of talented WRs that need more targets, his stock is up right now, good time to flip him.
Tua is a big upgrade over Pickett, gigantic
Kadarius Toney in Kansas City? Chance to have Mahomes throwing him the ball?
Hock landed on a good situation right now.

But you'rerebuilding, this puts you into more of a win now mode at QB and TE, but you'll be stronger there when your WRs and RBs are better
I would do the deal and then trade those great pieces off for draft picks, you can get more I would think than the talent you are shipping
MoP don't Dynasty, Redraft only but that is what i would do.

If this is one qb it's the Olave/Pickett side by far. As much as I love Tua right now, he's not a fantasy difference maker and outside of that QBs don't have much value. Olave and Pickett the two best fantasy players in the deal by far.

Agree. We turned it down.

I have a stable of QB’s

Kenny Pickett
Trey Lance
Zach Wilson
Mac Jones

Rebuilding the WR’s
Olave
London
Claypool
Pierce
Renfrow

RB’s are weak
Sanders
Williams
Gibson

So we have 2 1st rounders next year and one of them has a good shot at being the #1 overall

The rebuild continues in 2023

Johnathan Abraham, former 1st Rd pick of the LVR has been released
I would like to have a look at him, Dolphins need another body at Safety and this is the kind of cut/release after the trade deadline that you jump on. If he sucks that bad we can cut him just like Vegas but it's worth a look.

2 tweet Thread Per Mike Lucas

The Dolphins have allowed two 100-yard rushers this year & both were QBs (Lamar - 119 & Fields - 178).

Miami is holding opposing RBs to just 55.4 yards per game.

Nick Chubb averages 105.1 rushing yards per game. Something's gotta give...

RBs yards vs. Miami this year:
D. Harris - 48
J. Hill - 16
Z. Moss - 46
J. Mixon - 61
B. Hall - 97
D. Cook - 77
N. Harris - 65
J. Williams - 53
D. Montgomery - 36
