2025 Miami Dolphins - 1-6, Currently hold the #2 pick in the draft. (3 Viewers)

I’m not sure there has ever been a bigger home cooking game than this one. No flags on the eagles? I saw at least 3-4 dpi, and about 3 holds on Chubb and a few on Phillips.

hard to win when you revert back to the philbin o line.
didn't see it like that, though will willingly admit they will almost always call that missed facemask. Seemed like Miami had a bunch NOT called too, like the very obvious offside on Tyreek on the last drive. 0 for Philly seems more flukey then anything.

Otherwise, lot to like about y'alls team, and I'll be rooting for them up until (and possibly in depending on who against) the SuperBowl. Still think they're the best team in the AFC right now and tonights game would have been tougher/closer with a fully healthy Miami squad. best of luck to you guys!

Let's start here and I'm not blaming Tua only for the loss last night but we can't have this
Turnovers on drives where we should at least get a FG and cut it to 24-20

We take a Pick-6 and a huge momentum swing, tie it up 17-17 and then get outscored 14-0 rest of the night, offense disappeared
And we let them take the lead right back after we had the Pick-6, I don't understand
Losing sucks

The irony of X having to miss time due to his groin while simultaneously impregnating 5 different women, that's pretty rich.

The int by Tua was dpi against mosert as the lb ran through him. Miami played a heck of a game considering the injuries, a bad drop by hill for a walk in td, and the refs being color blind to Kelly green. As i said before the game, this one doesnt matter. Miami vs KC will matter but even then, no Ramsey. we let the face mask vs Ced Wilson go bc of the pick 6 that happened but come on.

Tua throws to “spots” on the field. If those spots are “muddy” you have the chance for an int.

the defense gave up 31 so it is hard to say they played great but I am beginning to see the design coming together.

Although there was DPI it was a poor decision and a even worse throw.

That was a **** fart throw and Tua has to shoulder some responsibility on that one. He does try and force a tad too much to Tyreek.

Count me as someone who thinks our defensive scheme has to have both Ramsey and X healthy otherwise we look pretty bad….we play way too far off the ball and can’t simply think our front 4 is adequate enough to generate consistent pressure.

It was either poor play design or poor execution. You don't have two receivers that far down the field so close to each other.

Coach McDaniel needs to answer why plays aren't schemed or aimed more for other players. No TE targets. No targets to Ingold. I know they were held in for blocking, but Ingold has caught all 3 targets (57 yards) and Julian Hill showed ability to chip and then run a pattern with YAC in preseason. Cam Smith, 2nd rounder, is still in witness protection per Barry Jackson. We miss Cracraft, believe it or not.

Agreed there were some big missed calls, but it is really the O-line injuries that doom this team. Some unfortunate ones on defense too.

I will agree there were some missed calls. On both sides. Eagles probably should have had a couple calls go against them. Dolphins, if I recall, most of their penalties were in the trenches. False starts/offsides/holding calls for the most part. Both teams were in the bottom of penalties per game. The Dolphins had 10 penalties against them, which was a season high. The season high before last night was 8, which was also a loss, against the Bills.

Missing 3 OL and both CB’s and yet still had a chance to tie the game up with 11 minutes left.

Thought Long and Chubb played great games. Trying to understand how the Eagles had 0 penalties called on them and the Dolphins had 11?

Wasn’t expecting a W. Now take care of NE at home next week.

Edit to add: I’ve seen enough of Eli Apple & Eichenberg.

Yeah. Not looking to get into a a long back and forth on the penalties like folks are with clips online this AM. I've seen some that should have been called both ways, for sure.

I think Miami's O-Line issues are a reason for some of those problems getting plays off/false starts.

-I appreciate what you are saying BUT Raheem Mostert should not be the target down the field and if he is, he better be wide open
Because you are going to get exactly what you got there, he's not a WR and he isn't going to fight for the ball in the same way to create the "DPi"

you are probably the only person on earth who feels a need to question McDaniel on offensive play calling

They had 2 shots at the wheel route (one with Ahmed) so they obviously saw something they wanted to exploit. The throw was late. Mostert had separation earlier in the route. And I agree with the announcers that something as off in the route to have both players within a few yards of each other. Slay doesn't pick that off otherwise. Mostert probably didn't even see Slay. He was fighting with his defender

Come on man......when you are forcing throws between 3 guys.....you gotta look elsewhere. We look great on offense....that’s not play calling...that’s Tua making that decision...he has 3 reads....he locks in a little too much at times on Tyreek....that’s all.

We have so many weapons......use em.

Last night was more a product of fraudulent officiating and a decimated OL. But again....I would like to see some other targets used when Tyreek is doubled and tripled.

My take aways from last night:
  • As stated by everyone else the home field calls were crazy. If it had been 10-4 in calls I would say ok. I'm sure the line changes did cause Miami some issues but the blatant no calls against Philly take it to a new level.
  • 3 backups on the OL, both outside CB's out, Waddle dinged early and no Achane and I'm not really surprised at the result.
  • The defense at times started to show something.
  • Eagles D Line is really, really good.
  • Eagles offense is overated. Most of their bigger plays were on broken plays. What they do really well is push the QB for 2 yards.
  • If Collinsworth could have been anymore of an Eagle fanboy last night he would have had a jersey on.
If they meet again in the big game and everyone is healthy I think Miami wins it.

And Hurts is tied with Jimmy G for the most INTs this season with 8 and has lost 2 fumbles. He doesn't protect the football very well. The fact that theyre 6-1 despite Hurts giving away turnovers like theyre Halloween candy is pretty impressive though.

Just saying it's hard to lobby for less with Hill. Hill was targeted 15 times yesterday. Caught 11. Had one blatant drop on a slant that should have been a TD and had another TD called back. I don't get the ask for fewer targets to Hill. Dude just gets open. Waddle? Hurt, missed time, still connected easily on 5 of 6 targets. They've been highly efficient with their targets. He did have 5 targets to C. Wilson/Barrios. And 6 targets to their 3 backs. The only one missing out is TE targets. My guess? They are keeping them in as extra blockers to keep Tua upright. Seems like a good strategy to me.

Ok let me clarify.

I love Hill being fed….however Tua has had a tendency when he has thrown picks or maybe taken a sack to lock onto him a tad too much. That’s all.

He absolutely is the number one guy in the offense.

But when we get into the post season….we will definitely need to have a couple of other guys step up.

But I am not complaining at all overall. He is uncover-able one on one and I expect teams to start forcing other reads.

Overall though? We are a special offense no question. And when Achane gets back? Oh boy.

I can't argue the refs were not great. I think overall some calls were missed, but you guys also had a lot of easy calls like holding, false starts, offsides and delays of game. The only obvious non call to me was the facemask/DPI play.

The bolded is kinda funny b/c we were the 2nd overall ranked Offense in terms of yardage coming into the game, and we could have ran the score up a bit more on you guys to end the game, like you guys did Denver, but I guess we wanted to be a little more courteous. Coming into this weekend, the combined record of the teams you beat were 5-28, and to date, your only two losses were against teams with winning records. And argument could be make that actually the Dolphins offense is overrated.

Good game and we both had a lot of guys injured, albeit probably at more important positions for you guys. If we see each other again it'll be a pretty big deal, so let's see how it plays out the rest of the season. You guys have a good team, I would be very concerned with the offensive line play/depth come playoff time.

Patriots
Vikings
Rams
Bucs
Jets

16-23

Weak sauce.

We played two very tough teams on the road…..if you think your playing tough teams with that crap above…..welcome to the NFL. Jets have a legit defense….I will give you that.

Total mediocrity save for:

Eagles
49ers
Chiefs
Dolphins
Lions
Cowboys
Ravens

And the Lions got shellacked yesterday….guess they are frauds.

Its week to week man…..last night there so many non calls they did not even talk about.

Hope we see each other in the last game of the year.

We are not going to be that team that complains about flags, that was not the lead in this morning
However, i do agree with Swamp that it was a bit odd to see such a discrepancy in the game.

I also don't want to make excuses with injures, all teams get them but we are down Start-LT, STart-LG and Start-Center from the 3rd play on offense last night, 2 were down already coming into the game and Liam Eichenberg is the 39th ranked Center out of 39 according to PFF

Quite frankly it's shocking Miami competed but the bigger story IMHO is how Miami was held to 10 points on Offense
Shut OUT in the 2nd Half, Refs couldn't have done all that by themselves.

@ LAC 2-4
@ NE 2-5
DEN 2-5
NYG 2-5
CAR 0-7

5 Wins against a combined 8-26 record in the NFL

2 Losses against Buffalo 4-3 and Philly 6-1
I believe more than you……but I have my concerns with this scheme on defense.
I was just listing out the teams they have beaten and I was surprised when you look at it.
And I might have added a loss for Carolina, changes nothing.
Looks another one fo those subpar teams is rolling into Hard Rock this weekend.

Wonder if the game in Germany would be in jeopardy if the ME situation intensifies?
Why would it? All regular activities and sports events are obviously going on as normal in Germany.
Travel, safety.. There is a lot of unrest in Germany over the ME conflict right now, plus in 2 weeks who know where we will be.
I live in Germany. The game will go ahead as planned. Everything else would be a completely unexpected turn of events.

Jones coming back is pretty big. Ramsey could be elevated this week as well, and Needham either has to be elevated or put on IR for the year.

BTW, most Tua danger throws/Ints seem to be in the Waddle or Mosert areas of the field. Tyreek is so wide damn open that the only way you intecept a ball headed to him is if it caroms off his helmet and bounces 6 yards in the air.

Starting LG - Isaiah Wynn will be out "several weeks" with his quad injury

-Per McDaniel
Hopefully he heals up soon. Unfortunately he's always struggled to stay healthy (only 1 healthy season in 6 years so far). I see he's down to 3 penalty flags in 7 games played now that he's in his rightful position at guard, a big improvement over his 9 flags in 9 games as a tackle last season.

BTW I expect your guys to smoke us this week. Pats almost always struggle in Miami, and have yet to beat Tua.

Wonder what is available in the trade market on the OL? Seems like teams don't really sell lineman when tanking like the do WR, RB and CB.
They should be scouting that Titans OL. Those guys are just giving players away, although only to one team.

I know its a pipe dream, but can you imagine Derick Henry running against light boxes on every down?

Miami could be players at the deadline, but for what exactly? A Center? LB? Pass rush? If anything, I could see them trying to deal Ogbah to someone in exchange for someone else, but this isn't the NBA.

Lavonte David wont cost much and can help this year. Brian Burns will cost a lot but will help for many years. Akeim Hicks can help and would cost nothing. If they could find a center or guard that would be sweet. I have no idea who that might be, but anyone competent could help right now. Liam hasnt been terrible for the past 2 games but I am not ready to trust him at all, and Conner is great but can he stay on the field? Armstead needs to retire, sadly. No way we can count on him. Anything we get from him is a bonus IMO.

I will be shocked if they dont add a piece or two. Its this year or next, then we have to pay the piper.

You never really have to "pay the piper" as long as Ross is willing to write big checks. Connor being hurt in a contract year isn't great for him. Miami should draft a center next year.

RB will be on a rookie deal for the next few years. The Tua and Wilkins contracts will be the bellweather as to how long our window is.

Its pretty vital that they take advantage of this roster while Tua is on a rookie deal. Assuming nothing crazy happens, he's about to get a monster deal which will mean we cannot afford a lot of the talent we are seeing around him now. So if we cant win with all that talent around him, how can we expect to win when we can no longer afford it? Plus, Tyreek is done after 2025 I believe. Simply not replaceable. We have this year and next, and then maybe if everything goes perfectly we have 2025.

I am 52, lifelong die-hard idiot fan. I just want one. I just want to feel what that feels like, one time. I want my poor adult kids to feel it too. I dragged them into this mess.

I really hope they add a few pieces this season and go all in.

I'm with you 200 percent. Not sure what a Tua extension would look like, so I cannot comment there. Miami is in the "conversation" which we haven't been in since Shula. Now we need some "luck" bc that is really what it boils down to.

Tua is playing for $4M this season, that is the last of the 4yr/$30M deal he got as a rookie
I never thought he would actually take the field for so little coin but things have unfolded in this way

Tua will never play for the 5th Yr Option next season, my guess is Tua resets the market for QB salary, h'ell get at least what Herbert got from LAC
Salary Cap is estimated North of $250-$255M next year
We also need to sign Christian Wilkins and Robert Hunt, perhaps Connor Williams and Austin Jackson if we want to keep an OL in tact

Then lets get a MLB and an interior OL before the deadline and make it happen. There are no dominant teams this year. This is the year we can do it. Get back Ramsey and Achane, maybe Armstead and Wynn, keep the rest of the squad healthy and add 2 pieces and we are right there.

-I can give you an idea of what it's going to look like...
Hurts 5yr/$255M w/$180M guaranteed, $23M signing bonus
LJackson 5yr/$260M w/$185 guaranteed, $75M singing bonus...he got the most upfront it would seem after he waited a little while
Herbert 5yr/$262M w/$218M guaranteed, $16M signing bonus
Burrow 5yr/$275M w/$$219M guaranteed, $40M signing bonus

5yr/$300M, w/$200M+ guaranteed, $50M+ signing bonus sound about right?
