Elandon Roberts is heading to Pit… hope Tindall makes an Impression. Long hasnt played 16 games yet, seems silly to think he will in Miami.
YES !!!!!

It's tough because Aaron was such an elite passer. How much of his decline has been due to system vs talent? How much has it been with all the drama and distractions he's causing? With the weapons the Jets have and that defense, I could easily see either QB elevating them to SB contender status. They've done a really good job building that roster.fully agree, as a Dolphins fan I always preferred AR on the jets to LJ.

My thoughts were long term. 26 vs 39 y/o. I doubt LJ plays until he's 40... but the trepidation is realIt's tough because Aaron was such an elite passer. LJ would be their better move long term, but Aaron gives more upside this year if he gets his crap together (big if IMO).
Cedric Wilson to the back of the line. Or another team? Berrios has been very good as a KR. And Slot wr.Braxton Berrios, get on the bus with Mike White and Dan Fenney.... you're a Miami Dolphin
some new draft picks would be nice.Cedric Wilson to the back of the line.
Always like more late round picks to watch get ignored by the networks on draft daysome new draft picks would be nice.Cedric Wilson to the back of the line.
"I think there's a reason Tyreek Hill is stoked about the move and calling him Wes Welker 2.0. The play speed and toughness will avail him in Miami. The WR3 battle between Cedrick Wilson, Erik Ezukanma, and Braxton Berrios will be fun to see unfold."Braxton Berrios, get on the bus with Mike White and Dan Fenney.... you're a Miami Dolphin
the lack of a quality OL addition is a glaring weakness/miss. For me At least.Hard to find fault with anything miami has done so far. I’m in NY btw today and a jet fan said to me “getting mike white was a good move for Miami. If he didn’t get hurt we wouldn’t have needed Rodgers “. Seems like a pretty interesting obser from a jets fan.

4 days in. Plenty of o line competition. Sure, it’s reported they are looking for a right tackle. Because they were decimated by injuries is the story...Also don’t understand how the Special Teams coach from last year is still employed?
We have plenty of frontline guys, you need a Swiss army knife sometimes and that's how I view BerriosCouldn’t agree more.the lack of a quality OL addition is a glaring weakness/miss. Like the Honey Nut Berrios addition. Felt like we led the league in fair catches last year - also don’t want to see Hill and/or Waddle returning kicks. Berrios fills that role.

He’s a textbook example of a fairly strong IDP player who’s actually kind of terrible in RL. In tackle-heavy leagues at least.Baker is going the opposite way of the guy he should be covering, his awareness in Madden is like under 50 vs passes.
But he is good vs the run and the stats would point to that.
My trepidation revolves around going all in all but everywhere else. Turning the OL OC was a positive but was hoping for a solid addition vs what seems like bandaids at this point.4 days in

And agreed, yeah I need to relax I just see a window and remember last years OL
Reed is backup material at best per this in depth analysis from a Broncos writer. Mostly coverage sacks. Still could use an edge rusher to complement Phillips and Chubb. I wonder if 7th rounder from last year, Cameron Goode, is still in their plans. He was good in training camp last year. With few draft picks, marginal vets have a good chance to make the team.Malik Reed OLB 1 yr deal, played with Fangio previously (career best year according to Miami Herald)
We added a coverage LB and coverage safety. Plus Ramsey and Fangio. I'm not worried about Gesicki. AVG would be a nice keep, buy we need to spend $$ on OL.Van Ginkel visited with the Patriots
Please not another one to the Patriots, we already have to battle Mike Gesicki twice now

Brandon Shell. But he played well enough in 2022 to get interest from other teams including the Billls just now. That's the catch. Anyone who's decent will expect $$ or more than a 1-year committment.Got any targets? We added a coverage LB and coverage safety. Plus Ramsey and Fangio. I'm not worried about Gesicki. Agree and disagree. We can't hold on to them any ways so my theory is burn them before Ross has a chance to screw up again.@Ministry of Pain Don't give up a future #1 when you have an injury prone QB and unproven backups. I think Miami will be good in 2023, but I don't think a big tradeup in this year's draft will give us a difference maker. I'd rather stay at 2.20 and select a player who falls.
Agreed, but not the way you think. This draft is deep at some positions and Miami is going to need "cheap replacement level players" to handle this top heavy team, so a trade down makes as much sense as a trade up. Assuming Miami is picking from the deeper positions, it may make more sense to get some 2024 picks than utilize the 2023 ones.Agree and disagree. I am simply suggesting that if someone falls down the boards and Miami wants to make a move, they still have options.
The more QBs and WRs and RBs and Cornerbacks fill up the Top 20, the better things start to look for Miami trading their way into the 1st Round.
What do you expect the 2024 1st Rd pick to be? Top 10, I would hope not. Top 20? Still will be a disappointing season if that pick isn't 28-32
Grier hit the gas pedal when he traded for Waddle and Hill, then he went after Chubb and Ramsey
We are at the end of a total rebuild that started back in 2019/2020, it's 2023 and here we are

You talk of Ross "screwing up the picks" but it was really just the Brady nonsense. Ross was also the guy who wanted the Dolphins to trade down and take Lamar Jackson way back when. (not here to get into a discussion of ross and his pluses and minuses, but he wants to win a championship. That is for sure)
Ask yourself with this roster, where is a "this year starter" going to come in the draft? O line? Maybe, LB? Maybe. RB? Likely not at this point but I'd say maybe 25% chance there. QB? No Edge rusher? Maybe. So if you don't have a guy you love, get some 2024 picks when you are going to need "cheap depth" as the rent comes due.
Looks like they are bringing Van Ginkel back on a 1 year deal.
Chubb, Phillips, Van Ginkle and Reed on the edge linbackers with Baker, Long, Riley and Tindall inside.
Now about the RT issue?
Dolphins basically up against the cap. Need to make a move to bring him back. Wonder who gets the restructure? My bet is C williams or BakerLooks like they are bringing Van Ginkel back on a 1 year deal.

Report: LB Andrew Van Ginkel plans to re-sign with Dolphins
The Miami Dolphins have done a great job retaining a number of their own free agents from the 2022 roster so far this offseason. On Tuesday, Dolphins Wire's Jason Sarney broke the news that linebacker Andrew Van Ginkel plans to return to the Dolphins for…dolphinswire.usatoday.com
Perfect match for Fangio's system
71% of the snaps in 2021 to 29% in 2022.
11 passes deflected in '20-'21, almost 10 sacks, 16 TFL and 30 QB Hits when he was a bigger part of the game plan.
I think just being back in the regular rotation will put him in positions to make plays.
Exotic blitz packages with Phillips, Chubb Van Ginkel as the 3rd guy, just 1 or 2 big DL inside and the rest more the Edge/Blitz types coming from all over.
I love that he is coming back, better than almost anyone they could sign right now
Van Ginkel os capable of doing a lot more than he showed last year. I could see him challenge for minutes and starting time
Makes sense. His base is 10 mil. If you figure the top 5 guys are making about 20 mil each it would have to be a 5 year 100 million dollar or so. You'd definitely have to backload some of the guarantees...Please pay/extend Wilkins - like yesterday.
Agreed with the above by smack and gator... it's timethe next person the brinks truck is backing up for has to be Wilkins.
I posted but you were way ahead on this one. I like the move plus Van Ginkel in the slots behind Phillips and Chubb, we will have depth and the ability to put heat on the QB13 sacks in 2 seasons under Fangio

Mentioned many times last year Miami would go as far as the Defense and injuries allowed… I hope injuries have a minimal impact this season because if the players learn the system, the D shouldn’t be a limiting factor.I posted but you were way ahead on this one. This defense is going to look a lot different than it did in '22
Tua might only have to drive half the field to score on several drives a game.
Miami should rip the cover off a defense and then bring the heat when teams are forced the throw

You bring up an excellent point if you are eluding to Miami perhaps getting their hands on one of the Rookie QBs that falls because one of them won't go Top 10, almost guarantee it. Some of those teams would like to have a stab in the 2nd Rd, but high 1st is a lot for at least 1 or perhaps 2 of those top 4 that get kicked around. I like the Hooker kid and he can be had well after those other 4 are gone. I think he was excellent in turning the Tennessee program around as he was graduating, good stuff.I saw somewhere someone posted the Family Guy video “you could have this boat or the mystery box (that could be a boat)” referencing drafting Richardson over trading for Lamar.![]()
