2025 Miami Dolphins - Week 2; Time to burn it down? (34 Viewers)

Anyone that wants the mic, please take it
I am truly speechless at the moment but come Sunrise I'm sure I'll have a few things to say

-We simply need to hope-pray-karma-whatever but we need to try and ensure that this team stays as healthy as possible
I don't care if we drop a game here and there, just don't lose major playmakers for the season, that's really my only wish at this point

When healthy, Miami can beat anyone
At full strength taking the field, very hard to beat and imagine if they had Ramsey on top of everything else.

None of the recent Miami draft picks have looked as good as Achane since maybe Waddle or Tua, just keeping it real
-I hope Mostert remains healthy, we need him and Achance will have more challenging weeks vs better defenses

Connor Williams-please just be leaving the game because it was a blowout. Despite his snap mishaps with Tua, he clears the field and allows for easy throws.
Jaelan Phillips- Oblique, please don't start accumulating multiple injuries

To Ahmed: "Stay Down!"

Tua Tagovailoa in Weeks 1-3 the past two seasons:

20222023
W-L 3-03-0
Comp/Att72/10172/101
TD-INT8-28-2

#truestorybro
THIS is exactly why I’m not get too crazy with this years start. IF Tua does down again there is no one on the roster that can do what Tua does.

The biggest difference from last years start to this year is the play of the OLine which has been great. McDaniel also designing plays with so much motion pre snap it leads to Tua getting rid of the ball so quickly the defense doesn’t have time to get anywhere near him.

Onto Buffalo

Game balls all around . . .

LT - Terron Armstead
LG - Isaiah Wynn
C - Connor Williams
RG - Robert Hunt
LG - Austin Jackson

And please tell me there is another backup C option besides Eichenberg.

OL w/Run Blocking and Pass Blocking grades...
LT - 75/88
LG - 51/80
C - 71/58
RG - 65/85
RT - 51/74...this spot has risen up the rankings lately, something like 42/68 now which is close to the middle, AJ was a lost cause, looks somewhat competent right now.

Achane and Mostert graded at like 94 and 92
Hill was a 95 Tua like an 88

On the Defense, both Howard and Chubb graded very low. Howard is one of the lowest rated starting cornerbacks right now. His ability to make interceptions only thing saving his bacon this season. I'm not seeing the guy that was striking fear into opposing QBs like 2-3 years ago.

Thanks for the info, I appreciate it.

I put zero stock in their grading. Yes X has slipped some Kader has grown exponentially and soon Ramsey.

Cracraft injury wont get headlines but it’ll hurt if he‘s out an extended amount.
Anderson whatever his name is seems like he is ready to fill in any moment they call his number.
I never cared for him but he has jets and Tua throws one of the most catchable balls in the NFL
Tua had more TDs (4) than he did Incompletions (3) vs Denver

Interestingly I saw a comment that I believe is a credible theory ... BC Waddle was out, Chosen was brought up to fill in for Hill had something happened. Next week with Waddle and Hill we'll see EZE

Mostert gets hurt soon.
Achane stats were in a blowout don't expect that every week.
Wilson comes back soon?

Dolphins fan love what I'm seeing. home games here in s florida will cripple the opposition in sept and oct.
too much heat.
let's see them beat the Bills and some other AFC teams

Achane was a direct reason why it was a blowout.

Keep that ****ty karma outta here. Your gonna spoil the juju.

Sometimes the best moves are the ones you don't make, thinking of Dalvin Cook. OTOH, we drafted Achane and picked up Chris Brooks as an UDFA. Let's see what they do versus a real defense this week in Buffalo.
This second year in the offense MMcD seemingly has more answers and pivots when opponents focus on taking away an aspect of the offense.
It’s soo much fun to watch… what’s the defense gonna do? man or zone? light boxes or standard front? How does MMcD a pivot?

I overlooked Brooks 9-66 on the ground

'81-'82 Miami RBs before Marino arrived
Tony Nathan
Andra Franklin
Woody Bennett
Tommy Vigorito
Eddie Hill

And the point is there have been times when there was actually multiple guys that did multiple things in different games and situations. Shula almost always had 2 to 3 RBs he was working with and never put the team in a position where 1 RB went down and the season was over, they weren't built like that.

I see Mostert-Achane-Brooks and WIlson will be coming off IR and then Ahmed looks decent when he gets a few touches, this RB stable looks solid right now with some big time playmakers walking around. in there. Lot of speed, like to see one of them as a power back, would just be cruel to teams after trying to run after all that speed and then just hammer them in the 2nd Half.

I've said a lot of complimentary things, it's time to look at the defense and I want to point out a couple things that have me asking questions as we go to Buffalo

Up 14-0, awesome but then Denver marches straight down the field and it's 14-7...Miami scores again however.
Up 21-7, awesome but then Denver marches straight down the field and this time they settle for a FG which was a mistake.

-Now up 21-10, McDaniel decides to go for it on 4th and 1 on his own 34, the play call was lousy I thought with a FB-Ingold plunge and we turn the ball over
-Denver ends up going the wrong way with the ball. Phins blow it open from there.

I don't think McDaniel should go for it in that situation but you are free to disagree
I'm still concerned if we have to rely on our defense to win a game vs some of the better teams.

At Buffalo...I'm not putting all the eggs into this one basket. Win-Lose, we likely will face this team 3 times including Game #17 in January at Hard Rock, pace yourself
NY Giants...1:00 game at Hard Rock, Miami will be a 6+ fav
CAROLINA,,,1:00 game at Hard Rock, Miami will be 7-10 pt favs likely
at Philly...I'm not scared but they have an incredible DL, we'll need to be full strength that night but again it's just 1 game
NEW ENGLAND...1:00 game at Hard Rock, not too worried about this one
at KC/Germany...I am interested to see how we stack up mid season vs the Chiefs

Miami could end up 8-1/7-2, 6-3 likely is the worst they would finish this part of the schedule unless someone pulls a big upset on us at Hard Rock, seems unlikely
Miami has a 5 game stretch after that where they should easily be favored in all 5 games including the Jets twice, I'm sure they will try and play us hard but they have no offense.

I don't want to get everyone overly hyped but we could be looking at something like 11-3 as we finish with Dallas, Baltimore and Buffalo, I think Miami will compete and win a couple of those final 3 games. We could be looking at an AFC East Crown this year. The KC game could help determine home field, a game or two at Hard Rock in the Playoffs would be a huge advantage for the Phins, that stadium is becoming louder and louder.

Bills week - always fun. Nice to be playing Buffalo in September in what looks to be decent weather.

Hoping Connor Williams can play - do not want to see any Eichenberg action. And someone please put a hat on Milano every play.

And this will sound like a broken record form last years Bills game - RUN THE DAMN BALL. Do not get away from the run game.

So far, I'm not convinced Fangio is doing a good job. It could be the players are not doing a good job. LAC runs for over 200 yards, and then Mac and Russell move the ball through the air, although we got sacks against Jones and put pressure on Wilson. Allen will be a big challenge for Fangio.

Stop counting those chickens MOP - it’s Bills week and a W would set them up nicely.

Defense is definitely a work in progress. When they blitz (like the end of the Chargers game) they have great success. Fangio doesn’t seem to like to blitz to offen though ?!?

Really looking forward to getting Jalen Ramsey back.

Reminds me of the 1992 and 1994 Dolphins in huge way.

Great balanced offense.
Solid defense but with some vulnerability.

Buffalo in the way!!!! This time we get over that hump IMO. We just got such good juju going….something special is happening right now….that stadium Sunday….I have not felt that kind of love and togetherness from the fan base since 1994.

Bottom line is when we have needed a stop so far, we have gotten a stop. The first two games we were bend but don't break, and game three as the same when it mattered.

I'm more scared of a pass rush like the one the Bengals had last night that anything else I've seen so far, and to be completey fair, The Eagles and Bills games will be a good test.

You guys are gonna destroy the Chiefs in Germany. That will be a statement game for the Dolphins.

To me you are guys are clearly the class of the AFC right now.

I was hoping you might pop in here, I wanted to invite you in as an Assistant Head Fanatic to lead us in a positive direction. Most of us have never experienced what it's like to be a weekly favorite as a Miami fan. I joke about you always predicting KC to lose every week or win by the narrowest of margins but I also can understand where it started as a Chiefs fan. Prior to Mahomes, much like Miami after some very early Super Bowl success and a history going back to the AFL...was Montana about the highlight prior to Mahomes? Priest Holmes era perhaps?

If he have half the success of the Chiefs the last 5 seasons, this city is going to erupt.
You all got 2 Lombardi Trophies over that period.
We have a lot of work to do on Defense

Yeah, I still carry a lot of angst in my gut for literally a lifetime of nut kicks. So even now, it's hard to break that pattern each week even though I know our team is pretty good.

We actually had a couple of pretty good eras.

1. The Marty years. Year after year of championship caliber defense but never the QB to take us over the top. Nut kick after nut kick, and then Montana comes in at the end and he gets concussed in the playoff game at Buffalo and BAM - another nut kick.

2. The Vermeil years. An all-world offense but a terrible defense. Home field advantage over and over and defense just awful.

We have names for all the debacles here:

The Lin Elliott Game
The Peyton Manning no punt game
The Jeff Triplette game
The BS Hold game
The How Do We Lose to The Colts After Leading By a Billion Points Game

It's ingrained man. Deep into my soul.

But Mahomes. Patrick Mahomes. Like a soothing aloe vera lotion on a sunburn. Little by little the pit in the stomach goes away thanks to that hero.

The Dolphins are right there. They literally have speed to burn. Honestly, if they keep Tua upright there is not a defense that can stop that offense. Your defense basically needs 3 stops a game all year and you guys will win the Super Bowl.

When the Chiefs won their (2) Super Bowls with Mahomes, our D would be considered middle of the road if you look at the stats. But they made their 3-4 stops a game to turn the possession metric back to the Chiefs. That's all they needed.

I think the Dolphins are the same way.

And we might get Ramsey back in December, good lord willing and the creek don't rise...

Win or lose this week I love this story
"7th Outbreak" starts a little bit before the 5 minute mark, it's something ALL NFL fans should hear because it says a lot and changes how I view a lot of QBs
I already knew many don't do well throwing it downfield and live off check down and short stick routes hoping the WR breaks a tackle or slips thru for the FD but the ball itself never crosses the necessary yardage needed to either convert a FD or score a TD, it's always a short pass.

-I found that extremely interesting and I'm still listening to him

Awesome !

Loving McDaniel more & more with each passing day. We only 3 games in and it’s early but here are the things I’ve noticed which has improved from last year.

1. Getting plays called in on time. Last year was a mess - delay of game, false starts, etc. Have not noticed any of that so far this year.
2. Sticking with running the ball. So many times last year it felt like they just abandoned the run mid game - especially against the Bills In their 3 matchups.
3. The Oline has drastically improved. Credit to McDaniel again for bringing in Butch Barry and the job he’s done with the Oline.

Makes me laugh every time the coach goes for it on 4th down - regardless of field position. It didn’t work this past week with Ingold getting stuffed but he gets that 1st down most of the time. McDaniel has been going for it ever since they hired hIm - dude is fearless.

And…..Gentlemen….I was wrong about Tua. This scheme is damn near perfection for his skill set.

But what is impressing me the most is his command of the offense….and he truly became a leader of men.

Period.
I would like to find my own words but this nails a lot of my feelings.

-Buddy of mine turned 40 yesterday and I turn 50 in April, he's like a younger brother to me.
-In honor of his 40th BDay and while he is celebrating in the Bahamas right now,
I went ahead and ordered the Tua jersey in the old school Miami colors FOR ME, not for him
My wife and son bought me one a couple years ago and I returned it but had a long standing credit at the NFL Shop

-Vapor FUSE edition, gonna look en fuego on Gameday
-I was so close to ordering the Achane jersey, would like to send one to MoP Jr
