2025 Philadelphia Eagles - Schedule leak: Eagles to host TNF game week 1 vs either an NFC or AFC opponent. (8 Viewers)

Deebo's been descending since his 2021 season. Washington ranked 5th in screen pass attempts for 2024. I'd expect that to climb. It's not looking good for the 49'ers. Don't expect Brandon Ayuk to have a big year coming off an injury. The Deebo move has the potential to open up the Commander's offense even more if you believe Deebo will thrive in Washington. Will be interesting if Jayden can resuscitate Deebo's career.

Is it just me or since the SB does anyone else just not care about the combine or any of these rumors?
same same. A bit of the hunger went away perhaps.
I’ve actually been watching analyses of the Eagles’ domination in the Super Bowl. Because we’ve never seen it before and there’s no guarantee that it’ll happen again in our lifetimes.

I'm prepping myself to be disappointed by the Phillies again. Plenty of time to get psyched up for the Eagles.

Im at the point with the phillies that i hope they just have a terrible season. Tired of them getting my hopes up to lose to some random team in the playoffs. Its the same exact team plus one pitcher. They have little to no chance imo

Its going to happen again next year

Raiders are interested in letting TE Michael Mayer go. He’s on a rookie deal and turns 24. Maybe if we go after Crosby we can build a package around Mayer and Crosby could be good or even just Mayer. Goadert on zero gauranteed money and could be gone soon

Definitely interested in Mayer, he's talented but got screwed by that Bowers pick.

It's crazy how I keep seeing this as some sort of "STEAL"

5th round pick for a guy that doesn't average 800 yards receiving over a 6 year career seems about the correct value to me though.

Yeah, the Eagles only gave up a 3rd for Dotson who was much more accomplished.
Now, lets take a look at their salaries and age....

You post didn't say anything about salaries and age, just production. Honestly, the Eagles would have been better off keeping Zaccheaus over using a 3rd to get Dotson.

Darius Slay released.

I get it, but he's still a starting caliber CB. Its a shame they couldn't work out a deal for 1 more season.
They can still bring him back, but he probably won’t take the low-dollar contract the Eagles would have to pay him. He’s already going to count for $24 million in dead cap over 2025 & 2026.

Per schefty
Eagles are releasing six-time Pro-Bowl CB Darius Slay, per sources.

Slay will be designated a post-June 1 release, saving the Eagles $4.3 million against the cap.

Its not over....yet!

Its a good/smart move by the team, let him check his market value and see what it is.

He probably is NOT back, but at least they are not trying to hold him hostage like we did Bradberry

per overthecap: https://overthecap.com/player/darius-slay/2358

Dead money
2025: $9.4M
2026: $7.1M
2027: $2.0M

Makes a lot of sense for Slay as he was entering his last year with no guaranteed money. This is like Jason Peters, if he can get more money elsewhere, he should. This is a business. If he wants to come back to Philly, its prolly a steep pay cut. I don't know how he graded out through the season, but its not clear if he would be playing 100% of the time.

Unless the *immediate plan* is to put Cooper at outside in 2025, if Slay came back on a super friendly deal and basically said "lets chase B2B + a yellow jacket" and if his play was at least close to what it was last year, I see no way Vic would not have him exactly out there the same as he was this year, with just the young guys (Ringo + whoever) waiting in the wings if/when Slay were to get dinged up/hurt. He has made it clear this is his last year, so ya know, it would be a "both eyes open" kind of a deal for both sides, *hypothetically speaking* about this scenario and playing time.

Reality though, he probably is satisfied with his career and will want that last one big payday to really set off his post playing days, as far as finances being the heaviest factor.

I'm not sure about Slay if he is a legacy guy or a money guy, I think a mix of both so personally, I'd love nothing more than him coming back super cheap, trying to win B2B and if he were a part of that, he'd be a lock for a Yellow Jacket and another Eagles player from this era goes in.

I was pretty certain Slay was a goner. He's definitely got some tread left on the tires, but not enough to justify his current salary. The Eagles have holes because of FA. Once those are addressed, you can try to resign Slay for a more reasonable amount. Wouldn't shock me if Godert is the next one to fall.

Doesnt this get offset by whatever his new team pays him? Or no since it's leftover bonus money?

I'll be shocked if Goedert is an Eagle after this year.

Yeah, agree. He was already drafted when Ertz was his age. But we have NOTHING as far as a complete tight end behind him. This might finally be the year we draft one high.
