4(102) Jordan Cameron, TE, Cleveland (1 Viewer)

jordan opened the year with 2 good games where gordon didn't play, then followed those up with 2 incredible games when gordon did play and was targeted heavily.

after that he fell off a cliff.

I didn't even keep him for 3 bux.
In other words, Cameron was a mega-stud while Hoyer was QB.Well, guess who the Browns named as their starting QB last week. Hoyer has a bigger man-crush on Cameron than I do.
yeah, for 2 weeks when hoyer threw the ball 92x and cameron ran more routes in that norv turner offense than any other te in the league.

you don't see any change to any of these things this year?

how long do you expect hoyer to hold off manziel?

rotoworld takes liberties on par with TMZ on its headlines sometimes

rotoworld headline...... The Chronicle-Telegram confirms Jordan Cameron is set for a "much larger role" with Josh Gordon suspended for the entire season.
click the link to the story and it is 99% about josh gordon with a half sentence thrown in in which the columnist states "Austin and Burleson have battled injuries in recent years, while the diminutive Hawkins is not suited for every-down action, meaning Pro Bowl tight end Jordan Cameron will be forced into a much larger role."

wtf is that confirming rotoworld????? it's just some guys opinion not a quote from the team... lame

If Manziel gets the start at any point this year, he'd be wise to warm up to the big guy as well. Cameron is likely to be the only open receiver on the field wearing a Browns uniform.

We can go back and forth all you want. All I'm saying is that I'm buying on Cameron's talent plus the recently-increased opportunity.

well, they only actually quoted "much larger role"

if you read the story no where in the story is any team source "confirming" cameron's role.... my porblem is with the use of the word "confirms"... when its really just a writers opinion... it'd be different if it was league or team sources confirm cameron will be used more ...

I'm thinking about him, in an upcoming keeper draft. Due to circumstances that are completely boring to all of you, I will probably be choosing between him and a 2nd tier WR.

Going back and reading this thread is nerve-wracking. Huge start, with a lot of quiet games afterwards.

But I think I am bullish. I think he might be a Garcon this year, just a pure target monster. Austin=hamstrings, I fully expect him to pull up lame before October, and Hawkins isn't a #1 target. Real small sample size, but Hoyer looked to him when he was playing. But really, which QB isn't going to go to Cameron this year.

Could see him leading NFL TEs in receptions.

As a Cameron owner, I would not be a fan of Manzier coming in. I think Cameron takes a big hit if that guy is in there.

BUT ... with the increased targets will come increased coverage esp when the defense doesn't have to double team Gordon

It's true, but the routes he's running, how much can a safety sag down to him? For years, Gates was the only game in town in San Diego, but his mid-range stuff was always there.

Can't really roll a zone to him, he's not a split end. Teams will, occasionally, I am sure, cover him with a LB and a safety, but defensive coordinators won't be pulling safetys down from deep coverage that often. Eventually, they'll get burned deep.

Didn't Manziel make a lot of short 1-read throws in college?
Not sure but I fear those TDs inside the 10 will totally disappear and be come Manziel running.
yeah, but on the plus side he can't lose many td if the team only scores like 1 a game.

I really feel like the biggest issue with Cameron this season is the fact that Chud and Norv are gone. Isnt little Schottie the OC now? if so that is bad...very bad.

What is the estimate on Cameron's recovery?
the injury hasn't been reported... the AC joint re-injury is a guess by beat reporters/cameron.... it could be worse...
Or it could not be worse....to be fair in your comment to purestrength. Nobody knows anything basically.
it is known he tried to go out and play in the 2nd half but was unable to keep playing because of pain... anytime you cant play its not a good thing

FWIW (and it's likely not much), the guys on "the drive" here in Denver (104.3 FM) said they were surprised that Gerell Robinson didn't make the final 53 roster. Don't know much about the guy and have a hard time believing he'd make much of any impact moving teams in week 2 and trying to learn a new system.

Here's to a speedy recovery or some better pre game medication.

Rotoworld:

Jordan Cameron called himself "all good" after an MRI on his shoulder only showed a sprained AC joint.

The news was positive, but Cameron's shoulder has been an issue since training camp. "Yeah, it's all good," he insisted. "Right now, it's just a day-by-day thing. Just seeing how it feels when I wake up, and we'll go from there." Cameron insists the shoulder injuries aren't "chronic," deeming the aggravation "kind of an unlucky deal." Cameron is questionable for Week 2. Fantasy owners shouldn't mind if the Browns hold him out against the Saints in an effort to keep Cameron healthy for a sustained stretch.

Jordan Cameron (shoulder) was limited in Wednesday's practice.

Advice: It's an improvement from last week, when Cameron didn't practice at all. Cameron remains questionable for Week 3, but is now on track to return for Sunday's matchup with the Ravens.

Anyone thinking this may become a chronic issue? I picked up Ertz off of the WW last week as a fill-in, but now thinking of trading off Cameron. What's his going rate of return? Possible Jeffrey for Cameron? Trying to gauge the scenario as our bench is small (3 spots) and I already have two on there due to injuries (Dmartin, Tate). Wondering if I could get a decent WR2 or RB2 to plug into a Flex spot if possible.

Is this a 6-team league?

What kind of weak league are you in that Ertz was on the WW? He should be a top 5 starter in your league.

I don't know why they'd play him with a bye next week. A chronic shoulder problem and you can rest it two more weeks while only missing one game.

Rotoworld:

The Akron Beacon Journal suggests Jordan Cameron (shoulder) "probably has a good shot at playing" in Week 3 against Baltimore.

Cameron returned to a limited practice Wednesday after sitting out all of last week. "[My shoulder] feels good," Cameron said after the practice. "It feels better. ... I’m going to wake up in the morning, and we’ll take it from there." Cameron aggravated an August shoulder injury on a 47-yard reception in the Browns' opener. Cameron finished 2013 with 80 catches for 917 yards and seven touchdowns, going to the Pro Bowl as a 25-year-old first-year starter. When healthy, he is an elite fantasy tight end.

pretty dumb if you ask me... the guy has already re-injured it once... take another game off and come back stronger week 5....

To win a football game?

They're 1-1, playing a divisional game, and have limited receiving options.

Shoot up the shoulder, play against the Ravens, and rest next week.

AC joint injury is very painful and limits mobility, shooting it up wont help a ton because he could stress it further and not know he is tearing it until it seperates and his collarbone isnt attached anymore

This absolutely contradicts what Jene Bramel said on his podcast

I think I'm going to be leaning towards listening to DOCTOR Jene on this one.

well, have to look at the positives i guess.... 7 targets is not bad.... the next four weeks they go up against #### d's, call me overly optimistic.... but he's a decent buy low right now

I think he has had a tough time getting started. He got knocked out the first game, missed the second week. Played the 3rd week limited, had a bye the 4th week. Back again this week..... so really next week is his first back to back week of football.

Patient owners will be rewarded.

This does make some sense, and add that he hurt his shoulder in pre-season. Still, I don't have much faith that Hoyer will lock into him as he did last year, and once Gordon comes back in about 6 weeks, Cameron will probably go back to playing a cameo role in the passing game.

HAve not watched any of the Browns games at all. Is it that he isn't being targeted because he is facing bracketed coverage or jsut being ignored? Maybe Gordon coming back helps him, not hurts him.

Graham injured/ on a bye. Kelce on a bye. Welcome to my lineup Jordan Cameron.

PS: Will probably drop you after week 6.
