4th annual FBG chess tourney- Congrats to Kasparov! 1st place (2 Viewers)

It takes about 15 seconds to send me the games to load into lichess

Send em over please.
Explain how again? I don't see the three dots in the upper right corner you're talking about.
Hmm

Once you finish a game, if you click on it and open the board. Is there a button somewhere that has options? One of the drop down options should be "Email PGN"

Maybe you have a different type of phone (I use an android), it definitely exists within the app though.

I think it has been since the last tourney since I've played, but I'd be up for it if there is still space.

Welcome! I hope we get to play. Your games are always super interesting and fun. Good luck!

So what are the best resources to improve one's game? Totally getting hooked now.
Besides books....

ChessNetwork (watch his games, he gives commentary/instruction during them)

Chess Club and Scholastic Center of St Louis - check their lectures - filed under "Beginner" in the playlists

and

chesstempo.com - go to the Tactics Trainer (actually every resource there is useful)
I forgot to add to this...

PLAY a lot

Register at lichess.org and play a ton. The site offers instant analysis on your games, and it's free.

Also, I forgot to recommend John Bartholomew's youtube channel right now as well. Currently my favorite, but I think the 2 you posted above are best if your just starting to get your game back (SBob and Pickles probably know of others).

Already finished 7 and 5 in progress. I'm doing well against D and E class. This game against Tim should be a good barometer of where I am.

Thanks k, good to be back! Haven't played since the last time we had one of these, so should be fun to knock off the rust a little.

Good morning and bump.

John Bender playing very well in our fun game, will likely beat me. He's a very good player.
I really feel like I missed a sac on f3 a few moves back. Hope you don't mind me taking my time. We got into a really sharp position (as is typical in the kings indian)

eminence is displaying a level of chess equal to his skills at everything else. Our first moves (em is black)

1. d4. Nc6

2. f4. Nxd4

3. Qxd4

Which is part of the reason I'll probably lose. Sharp positions are my biggest weakness. I try to avoid them. All of my openings are designed to be as closed as possible, to avoid tactics.

And there you go, nice win Bender.
That was def a horrific blunder but if you counter attack my queen with your pawn you might be able to sac the queen for 2 pieces there (doesn't help that you already sacked to bust up my kings pawns though). Will load it into lichess and post when I can. I didn't calculate past my Re5 move

I assume I made a quite a few inaccuracies myself

Nice game

and here we go with your ####### Stonewall Dutch (I lied and have nothing prepared for it - although I might prepare something if we get matched up in the tourney).

Good win - only thing I know about this opening is to fianchetto my kings bishop but that's where my knowledge ends.

ETA: was hoping you'd try a Ragozine here instead where I know my stuff.

In a true masterpiece game against eminence, I set a record for myself by queening 5 pawns, and having a total of 6 queens on the board at the same time. I have emailed this game to John Bender so that he can analyze it.
