______ Passed Away Today, RIP (3 Viewers)

man there is a lot of negative stuff out there about teri bolea and his racism etc i guess i didnt ever know that about him and it sort of tarnishes things for me take that to the bank bromigos
Yeah same boat. I didn't know everything about the man and there are people who are using this moment as the time to make it known.

No way! Youre telling me a white guy born in Augusta Georgia in 1953 doesnt view everything from the same lenses as everyone else?!?!?!?!?!?

Next thing you know theyll be telling you that black folks born in Augusta Georgia in 1953 disagree with him.

it may shock you to learn that not everyone knows hulk hogans backstory as well as you do apparently for instance i did not know that he was from georgia or a hillbilly as you say until you wrote it i like many others i suspect just knew the manicured hulk hogan from california who was allegedly all about america so the news of his apparent racism and approval of dropping n bombs was rather surprising to me take that to the bank brohan

and i should add that i know lots of people who would likely be called a hillbilly from rural areas who are not racists and i guess that would surprise steadymorbin take that to the bank bromigos

I forgot how sheltered most of you are. Reality has a way of punching you in the face sometimes.

Just add him to the list of people you have never met whom you judge harshly.

I'm 50. I've never actually heard anyone say the N word in real life around me so that's good. Sheltered? Been been in two wars and worked at a prison for a decade. Still never heard it. I don't judge my entertainers. If we had a trivia on Hulk Hogan outside of wrestling I wouldn't do good. He entertained the hell out of me as a child child though.

Nobody likes people who are actual racists. Goes without saying.

If you’re referring to the jab I took at you about you” judging people harshly “ - that was about how much hate you carry around. I wasn’t suggesting that you should be understanding of racism.

Anyway…. I don’t wanna argue about Hogan anymore. I didn’t even like the WWF/WWE.

I was more of a Road Warriors, rock ‘n’ roll express, and the four Horsemen kind of kid.

More a tribute to Randy Rhodes. Mr crowley remains my favorite guitar solo. Starting at 220 in the clip. Then 430. . There are many incredible ones. Many rated higher. This just seems amazing to me. And written at age 23.

I never pass up an opportunity to discuss one of the greatest guitar players. Randy does have a ton of amazing guitar solos. I have always loved Flying High Again but lately I think the solo (and the insane fills) in I Don’t Know is my favorite.

I love how Randy’s solo tone sounds just evil enough, especially on Diary. I also find it funny that there are so many hardcore metal bands that dress up like Billy Bad *** and tune their guitars down 10 steps to be sooooo heavy. Meanwhile, Randy still smokes them all and he did it at 5’ nothing and 120 pounds wearing a woman’s blouse playing his polka dot guitar! Absolute legend.

Funny how appearances can be deceiving. Hogan in the 80s was the "Real American," eat your vegetables role model for Gen X youth while Ozzy was Satan incarnate. Fast forward 40 years and Hogan turned out to be a racist who pimped his wife out to his buddies on video while Ozzy became a universally beloved family man who raised hundreds of millions for charity. The world is an interesting place.

A guy bites the head off of one bat and one dove, then pees on the Alamo, and all of a sudden he’s pure evil.

That's about the size of it. Doing the TV show was probably the best thing that ever happened to him, it showed the world that he wasn't the spawn of Hades, but just a good hearted funny guy who happened to like to get REALLY wasted and did dumb s**t...

It has been interesting these past few days to read things about Ozzy that I had not previously known. One thing is how deep his appreciation of music went.

He has been friends with Phil Collins/Mike Rutherford/Tony Banks/Peter Gabriel for over fifty years. No one knew what exactly to make of "Genesis" when they first arrived--not even their own record label--but Ozzy loved them right from the beginning, and made it a point to compliment them in the media and amongst other groups.

There’s a lot too SWC. There’s a lot of stories not public just how terrible he was. He may have had a successful career but how he got that success was really scummy. As kids we aren’t subjected to it and Hogan was lucky to live and work in an age in his prime where maybe some of this behavior wasn’t taken seriously or technology wasn’t advanced enough to capture it.

Macho also had every right to protect mrs Elizabeth from hogan too

It really should be known as a lot don’t know about it. It’s gonna happen when Vince McMahon dies too. Apparently he’s estranged to his son Shane and his family now. Wants nothing to do with the mcmahons and he’s close to his wife’s family.

Ozzy was integral to supporting newer metal bands. Slip knot isn’t slip knot without him. So many younger artist have praised how accepting and supportive he’s been to them over the yrs.

I grew up in a small town that had racists so I heard the word as a kid, but I haven't heard people be overtly racist via a vocalized epithet of any variety since high school and not in thirty-two years since then. It has been a long, long time. Now, I saw a swastika tattoo about eight years ago and I remember it like it was yesterday. It was actually frightening considering where I was and how big the dude was. That had former prison stint written all over it and I had to actually walk by the dude in a sort of entry way.

What I'm saying is that I believe you because you DO NOT say that **** anywhere near a prison or the military if you want to walk away from that usage breathing. Even if people think it they just get a big old case of shut the heck up about it.

Yeah I got zero respect on those who drop that freely. Stephan A did a thing on this when Riley Cooper got caught at a kenny Chesney concert here in Philly. Smith went away from his usual hottakes got serious and called out his own race for still using it. No one should it makes them sound uneducated and hood etc is what he said and puts a bad image of you family etc out there. Very moving strongly worded by him too

I grew up in DC, and hear the word every hour said by a black person to another black person just as casual as can be Probably would be good for that to be dropped from street lingo, though it's usually derogatory even then. I don't hear the Native Americans taking pride calling each other Redskins. I was called cracker thousands of times growing up. I don't keep use the word like it's some kind of bond. But to each their own I guess.

People make mistakes. To me it's how repeatedly it happens. Someone messes up 1-2 times, it's a bad decision. They mess up a few times, there's an underlying issue. FWIW, the most racist place I've been to in the good ole USA is the PA/OH/WV borders. You will see more Dixie flags there than you will in Mississippi. And it's somewhat confirmed by this study https://us-inequality.sdgindex.org/rankings

You are still so full of it. No one is defending what he said in that tape, but tons of wrestlers who worked with him over the years have spoked very positively about him, before his death and after, including numerous POC in the last five days (those who actually worked with him, not some of the current talent who never worked with him). Your "I know people who know stories..." crap is so old and tired; we all know it is made up nonsense. And the fact that you are basically take the side of Randy Savage, who was known for, let's just say, mistreating Elizabeth (which was a thing long before their program with Hogan, so don't try the "he was just protecting her from the devil Terry Bollea" silliness), is nasty work. Terry Bollea was certainly an imperfect person, but I doubt any of us would want to be judged by our worst moments in life. You should probably tend to your own garden and cut back on the sanctimonious crap that you constantly spew out of your keyboard, rather than sounding like another one of the nut jobs on Twitter in the last week who seemingly get off on the death of someone they never knew. That says more about you than it does about anyone else. To be fair, it's what I expected from you.

Ryno!!!!

No!!!!!!

RIP buddy.

Growing up a kid in Oregon I just fell in love with baseball. Cubs and Braves were on nearly every night. So many good Ryne memories. He had that 4 season tear in the early 90s that was just a fantasy baseball managers dream. I stopped watching baseball a decade ago. I honestly can't name 5 MLB players right now.

That 1984 season was such a joy to watch him dominate at the plate and in the field. A real class guy - big loss to the baseball community.
This is so very sad to hear.

I met him once. His brother Del was my high school basketball coach. Ryne showed up at our practice one day in his off season to hang with his brother. We had a shoot-around. He was a very nice guy.

RIP Ryno - one of the great all time Cub players. Ryno was pure class on and off the diamond and played the game with a graceful precision. They should have won it all in '84 and it's a darn shame they didn't. I met him and his wife years ago and he was totally gracious and had a fun time giving me the business for wanting an autograph on my Bear's hat. Great memory. His legacy will live on in Cub nation for ever with the rest of the Wrigley immortals.

I'd seen the pictures on X of him in a hospital, but he had that same Ryno grin as always. Thought he might get through it. RIP.

Also - the dude would have hit 300 HRs for sure if his first wife didn't derail his marriage by sleeping with everyone in a Cubs uniform except Billy Conners. Basically 3 years wasted while he tried to come to grips with things.
