Hard to believe he was 80.  I think he was the first Ranger to have his number retired.

Yes, Mr. Ranger was the first to have his number retired back in 1979. The fact that only 9 numbers have been retired shows how he stands in Ranger lore (although Henrik Lundqvist will make it 10 numbers this coming season).

Rod was ever-present around MSG forever, even in recent years - had no idea he was even sick. :(  Universally viewed by the hockey community as a real classy guy.

An old drummer friend of mine (touring pro guy...he played for Paul Young and a zillion others) posted something on LinkedIn not long ago congratulating a friend of his who was going to be filling in for Watts on upcoming Stones gigs/tour. Got me thinking and worried about Watts as I hadn't heard anything about his health... RIP- an absolute legend and one of the coolest seeming dudes out there.

I saw the Stones in Boston in 2013 or 2014, whenever their 50 and counting tour took place.  Mick was getting around plenty well then still.

He had some kind of procedure a few months ago, said he was good but doctor encouraged him to sit out this tour.   

It is a bummer because I had tickets to see the Stones last year but Covid ruined that.   But I'll be going this October and I expect there will be a tribute to Charlie...

I stumbled upon him years ago when I stopped watching regular TV and caught Brit TV game shows and this guy and his odd-ball comedy.  He would just go off the reservation and everyone would go with him to this odd Sean Locke world that was ...

RIP -

It's not the people, it's the construct.  We can't even do Password or Hollywood Squares right anymore.  Funny, smart people given the time and space to be naturally funny.  It's all quick one-liners, that aren't that funny.  You can see in the Brit videos, the brilliant people are the producers.  They set up the funny stuff.  The funny people work it.

Our producers don't have the patience for funny, on those types of shows.

All I will say in response is, attend the Just for Laughs comedy festival in Montreal or watch videos from it. You will see amazing comedians from all over the world. They may not be as famous as some of their American counterparts, but they are just as funny.
