______ Passed Away Today, RIP (2 Viewers)

I was more team Bailey, but Loni was obviously a beautiful woman. More importantly, an underrated actress and seemed like a good person.
My childhood gb's mom did Lonis hair a couple years for a TV show she did in SF. I remember her saying what a kind and gracious woman she was- treated everybody with equal respect, despite her stardom.

Lionel Taylor, former Denver Broncos great, dies at 89. He played professionally as a wide receiver, primarily with the Denver Broncos of American Football League (AFL). Taylor led the league in receptions for five of the first six years of the league's existence. The second player to lead a league in receptions for at least five seasons and the last to do so. He was the third wide receiver to reach 500 receptions in pro football history. He was also a longtime assistant coach in the league, winning two Super Bowls with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Astronaut Jim Lovell

Never got the chance to walk on the moon because of Apollo 13. After that mission he had flown in space more than anyone else and never flew in space again . He was a great American. RIP Jim Lovell.

Saw this the other day. One of the many artists who should have been much bigger than they were.

My uncle, the cool one I mentioned in the album thread, turned me on to Terry Reid a couple years ago. So talented. RIP.

I actually got to meet and talk to Terry Reid in 1995 who was appearing in a small club in Monrovia or Arcadia (I think). A friend of mine had gotten to know him and introduced us before the show. Told him what a big fan I was of his and found him to be very gracious and personable.

It was a small crowd at the club that night, like about 20 people but you would never know it by the show Terry put on with a pick-up band. He gave it his all and you would have thought he was performing at some sold out arena rock venue like The Forum.

Actress Danielle Spencer at 60...best known for playing Dee in What's Happening!!

Raj and Dwayne are last two standing from that show. Great afterschool memories watching that crew.
Dwayne (Haywood Nelson) was actually the one who broke the news on Instagram:

Ooooh....Im gonna tell Mama :sadbanana:
Great story in that unlike many child stars she moved on to a solid second career (as noted by others). I saw an interview about a year ago and she seemed very happy. And her Dee character was hilarious.
I crushed pretty hard on Dee.

That makes Little Earl sad.
Also a euphemism

A couple more notes about Ms. Spencer.

The cast of What's Happening!! was honored at the 2006 TV Land Awards, where Spencer was the co-winner (along with Little House on the Prairie actress Alison Arngrim) of the "Character Most in Need of a Time-Out" award.

She also played the vet in the movie "As Good as it Gets".
Also the subject of one of the best lines on Friends......

Chandler: Could you want her any more?
Ross: Who?
Chandler: Dee the sarcastic sister from What's Happening!

Bet she had the most fun of any actor on that show.

Terence Stamp, General Zod, among other roles, dead @ 87:

My favorite of his was in Fellini’s “Toby Dammit.” Probably Fellini’s most underrated work.

I first saw this as a kid and was totally amazed by it. I had no idea who Terrence Stamp was at the time but his acting was really memorable. And who can forget that little girl.

Ronnie Rondell Jr, the American stuntman who was famously set on fire for the artwork of Pink Floyd’s album, Wish You Were Here, has died aged 88.
Rondell, who also appeared in Hollywood films such as Spartacus and The Karate Kid, and TV shows such as Charlie’s Angels, passed away on August 12th at a care home in Missouri, and is survived by his wife and son.
What an iconic photograph. Shine on You Crazy Diamond-RIP

Kseniya Alexandrova, crowned Vice-Miss Russia back in 2017, was in the passenger seat of her husband's Porsche Panamera on July 5 when the elk suddenly bolted onto the road. The elk's body flew into the car, slamming directly into Alexandrova's head, knocking her unconscious, according to reports. Alexandrova slipped into a coma immediately after the crash due to suffering catastrophic head injuries. She remained in that state until passing away on August 15, according to her modeling agency.

Wow.
