AFFL: FINANCIAL ISSUES AND CONCERNS (1 Viewer)

GREAT NEWS AFFL HAS FOUND FINANCING...to bad it is with Bear Stearns...I just thought i would save him the trouble and make up excuses for him.....
I've followed the whole thread, and Kirk; what you where owed, you were paid. So at this point you have no reason to continue with the inflammatory comments. JMO.
Well, My Brother is owed money and i am still owed some..... How much are you owed?
$16,000.
I'm guessing he wasn't expecting that answer.

3rd place only paid 10k..... WHERE OH WHERE CAN NEIL BE ????????????????? ASHES TO ASHES $23,700
Yes, and winning my league paid $3,300 and finishing 2nd in the consolation paid another $2400 and winning my Mid Season league another $250.I did talk with Neil and he assured me we will be getting paid by the purchaser after the due dilegence is completed. If he doesn't get it done, THEN I will ##### up a storm.

The ironic and funny part about Kirk repeatedly getting  is that he is taking the focus away from Neil.

I sure hope it goes through...... I number of us were ready to file a suit but the 40k winner asked that we wait. And i asked the people with me to wait and they agreed. With AFFL being an LLC it would be very hard to get his personal assets. But filing is still going to happen if he can't pay......

Kirk, you're being one of the biggest tools we've ever had on these boards. I know you're new to this community, but even for a new guy, you're way over the top. I'm basically on your side here in my thoughts about AFFL. But, you post, and I get embarrassed every single time that in some remote corner of the universe, I agree with you on something. So, from both sides...those who agree with you and those who don't...just please stop being so toolish.

What do you mean i am over the top? You been running your trap for 2 months now and are not even an AFFL player, Let alone a winner....If you don't like what i say don't read it, sweetheart.....

If I was owed a ####load of money I would be playing nice as well ! You get all rowdy and the guy might pay you becasue he has to but he will wait untill the last moment he can. After I was paid then you launch a all out attack but not before - to do that is just stupid unless all other forms of diplomacy fail totally.

That said after reading all his comments - maybe Iam just naive ( I can afford to be I am owed nothing ) - it seems he really did just totally #### up and really is scrambling daily to make it right. You think you are having bad being owed as much as you all are and in some cases over 75 K  - Imagine this guy facing jail time / lawsuits / never being out of debt his entire life -- all if he can't come up with a ####load of money soon. Granted it's his own fault though.

It is amazing how well Neil sold his imminent deal in his last post before riding off into the sunset. I think it has moved well beyond the time to get lawyer's involved.

Not everyone is owed thousands................there are more of us that were fleeced out of less than $600 or so. There isn't a legal recourse for those people that makes sense. Attorney costs would out way the recovery of the funds lost.

Judge Judy down ? Just so we can watch

Has anyone heard anything from Neil since the 12th of March? I know some people were emailing him regularly, but I haven't seen any updates from Neil or anyone speaking with him since around the 12th.

I'm just wondering if Neil finally gave up.

Wow, this was a helluva read.

I really feel sorry for the winners that have been lied to and stolen from.

Bosco , very nice post, you are a much more patient and calm person then I would be in your shoes, as are you Softball -$75k and $16k owed respectively is a lot of money to most.

I was really hoping I would get to the end and see everyone got paid, but sadly the real world doesn't usually have the happy ending.. unless your paying for it at a massage parlor.

I have never personally jumped into high stakes fantasy football, and this thread is a very good reason to continue to avoid it.

It looks like Neil has stopped contacting people, hopefully he is getting the checks ready to call with good news.

Best of luck to the people owed money.

Neil's latest email:

An update on the current status of the prize checks:

I wanted to send another update on the prize checks, as it has been a few weeks since we received the LOI for the sale of AFFL.

We are still in due diligence with the buyers. The deal is still progressing, but I do not have an exact date when the deal will close. We are working with them closely to make this process as fast as possible. They fully understand the importance of paying out the prizes as soon as possible.

I believe that they will be making a public statement very soon.

As soon as I have additional information, I will update everyone again; I am sorry this process is taking so long.

Regards,

Neil Wickham

AFFL Commissioner and CEO

Its over... if anyone was ever holding out any hope of getting their money... its over
Neil called me last week. He is working with a potential buyer. I'm guessing he'll have more info for the forum by the end of April.
This woulda been nice April Fools material.
why hasnt anyone mentioned Neils email the other day stating that he's still working with the potential buyer on the LOI, and hopes to have it resolved soon? Very believable, dont you think?Im curious if anyone has gone to the next step and contacted the US Attorney's office yet.

At least a lesson was learned out of all of this. Seems like Paul Charchian (former founder of Fanball) picked an awesome time for another little startup venture - LeagueSafe. They have an option for private leagues that are 100% free of charge and I know for a fact that my company will be using this site to secure all of our payouts this year. Stupid not to really.

Well, is Neil ever going to close his so-called "deal" and pay his winners? What is the statute of limitations on this? Why is Neil still collecting royalties for Banner Ads? I hope the FSTA has kicked him out of their organization. Is anyone suing him yet or calling the attorney generals office?

Just curious.

:hophead: Uhhhhhh...

NO!!!

any new news to report?
The guy that took 3rd overall in AFFL platinum partnered with myself and another high stakes player to create a high stakes contest with all prize money secured in an attorney trust account. It is a live/online combo event called The Fantasy Football Players Championship and is "For Players. By Players". I do not want to be seen as advertising it, so you may need to go to Google to find the domain name. So AFFL has changed more than a few lives. But NO, they have not paid anyone and sadly, probably never will.

Need to change the title of this forum from "looking for leagues" to "looking for Neil".
