I don’t find them all that different. Bombastic, misinformed, thin-skinned, and great self-promoters.

No she's unpopular with Republicans. She's popular with Democrats. Gee I wonder if Fox, amongst others, running one ridiculous smear story after another has anything to do with that?

No, it has to do with her ideas, not the coverage. She is also widely unpopular with independents who don't watch Fox News.

So i saw a headline about her accent. I just assumed it was more of the bs "latina thing" criticism being lobbed at her. After reading the comments in here i had to find the video.HellToupee said:

I think folks are hearing in her "Nothing wrong" clip what they want to hear.
BTW, there is nothing wrong with being a bartender, a janitor, a house painter, a food service worker, or a worker in retail sales. There is also nothing inherently qualifying or applicable about those job skills for legislating for the benefit of the entire country. Generally speaking I would trust someone with substantial education and with substantial executive experience and with exposure to the legislative process far more than I would a bartender. The thing is, when I look at our political landscape today, perhaps we could use a few more working class heroes. I mean they could not do any worse than what we have. Our well qualified and experience pols seem to have lead us to the very brink of disaster as they abuse their position for benefit of their friends and for forwarding their fetishes.

There is something wroooong with the waaaaay she is speakING.
NCCommish pointed out tgat it is common. I dont think there is some sinister motivation to her doing it, but she unquestionably was doing it.
You can hear the difference later in the clip when she stops and returns to her normal speech pattern.

They dont give all the numbers. How many had an unfavorable opinion? How many had no opinion? In other polls I've seen about 40% of Democrats said they hadn't formed an opinion yet.
It is my opinion. She seems to need attention and she wants to get involved in every issue and also wants to be involved in how the DNC does their job. It makes sense with her ego that she will jump in the middle of the Democratic primaries and attempt to be king/queen-maker. Diversity is a key so unless their is some kind of white male superstar on board with all her craziness, she is going to back a minority and/or woman.
It was your claim that she is popular among Democrats. There is plenty of evidence that she is not popular in the general population.

You said nothing about backing a woman and specifically limited that person to someone non white. It seemed a transparent attempt to essentially call her a racist and I thought it was intentionally provocative and inflammatory just to get a reaction.

Yeah she volunteered for Bernie and that's how show got her start. I'm guessing if Bernie is still there come the NY primary she'll be backing the old Jewish guy who incidentally is white.

That’s a very silly article.
Jews have faced some modest discrimination in the US. They couldn’t get into certain country clubs, or private housing developments. They faced bigotry in some industries.
But no Jew has ever had to drink from a separate water fountain here, or attend a segregated school. No Jew gets stopped and searched by police on a regular basis because he or she is Jewish.
It’s really strange that you would even bring this up within the context of this discussion.
What is odds about it? Hispanics and Asians have not experienced the same level of racism as blacks in this country either. Are they white too? This is a discussion in a Jewish progressive magazine, I fail to see the offense.

She’s very smart. She knows that climate change is a political winner for Democrats but the GreenNew Deal isn’t- for now.
But Pelosi doesn’t have time on her side. The problem for her is that climate change isn’t just a political issue; it’s a real issue, and unless the Democratic leadership can come up with a solution of their own the GND will become the solution by default. But the Republican situation is even worse: on this issue, like healthcare, they have NO credibility whatsoever, having done nothing but oppose.
