Why can't I just feel differently about her reaction without it being ridiculous. I'm fine with you thinking it was acceptable without putting you down for that opinion.
If you can't see how some people would be put off by what she did, I don't know what to say.

The "correct" media optics play would to announce she's having food catered in, and she will set up a table and spend the entire night talking to each and every person there with their concerns, but on a pure one on one basis for 15 minutes each, so she can personalize and empathize with their specific situations. And while they are waiting and eating, she'll have staffers interview each one and write down their concerns.
Then put a security detail by each exit, implying no one is going to leave until she's done.
That would silence the room. Immediately.
She failed to command the room. Thus she failed period. That's true no matter her political leaning. Never allow anyone else to control the room. Never allow anyone else to frame the narrative. Never allow anyone else to set the "pace" of engagement.

You are more than correct here. It's unfortunate so much partisanship is avoiding your main point.
I am not against a former bartender being part of Congress, just like, as a matter of substance, I'm not opposed to a former McDonald's assistant manager being an elected official ( I would prefer any number of them over Lauren Boebert though). I do believe there is something to be said about life experience and the practical utility of professional politics as a "Second Career"
Amy Klobuchar and Katie Porter had actual careers before politics. And it shows. So what if they are Democrats. They didn't need to be professional politicians to make a living. That's the biggest argument against types like Boebert, MTG and Cawthorne. And yes, even AOC and Ilhan Omar types.
If AOC spent 15 years as a bartender first, then that's an entirely different ballgame. If she had to try to raise kids on a bartender's wages in NY, that's a different story and situation.
AOC's lack of real practical life experience shows.
Jamie Foxx is quietly known for helping give Ed Sheeran get a start here in America. When asked about it, Foxx simply said he understood what it was like to be a starving artist when no one wanted to give him a real chance. Sheeran lived in Foxx's own home for months in the beginning. AOC has no extended context with the working class. It's why she's so tone deaf to the actual working class. It's why she can violate Congressional rules and violate FEC standards to take a free dress for the Met Gala and take a "free ticket" to said same event, while denouncing the "rich"

FWIW - I'm more of a centrist liberal but AOC has absolutely won me over with her passion, hard work, and political acumen. I used to believe she was likely a flash in the pan but I'm convinced she's a future leader of not only the Democratic Party, but possibly a candidate for President.

When they're part of the little people they all talk about "fair share" and all kinds of Bolshevik nonsense, but once they're IN the party power structure they realize the wealth and power they can get so it doesn't become about the little people anymore, it becomes about them. LOL..if you can find me a Tesla 3 lease for 350 a month shoot me a PM. Was looking at them and the best deal I found from Tesla 3 for a lease was 519.00 a month with 5 grand down payment and only 10K miles a year and that`s a joke. I put 18-20k miles on a year.
