NOOOO! Don't ever do an OTA if you're rooted!Bucks said:Not so lucky here. Applied the OTA update on my Nexus 7 2013 wifi. And now couple minutes after bootup the system resets and if left alone is in a continuous reset cycle. The only way I can keep it running is if I start-up in safe mode. I was running stock Kitkat with factory bootloader/recovery but I was rooted. It seems it is resetting when some background app is loading. I've uninstalled most all of my root apps I can think of with no luck yet. Ugh!MattFancy said:Finally got the update to my Nexus 7. Still tinkering around, but it seems faster.
I've done it successfully multiple times going from JB to Kitkat, and then a couple of kitkat minor updates. Because I left everything stock it wasn't a problem, it just required re-rooting afterwards each time. I do have a full titanium backup of all apps and data I made ahead of time just in case.NOOOO! Why not break it and go to another provider?Verizon is a pain in my butt. My contract is up 12/12, so to break early is $10, for certain devices. Not the Note 4. To break contract is $125, to finish it out is $140, to pay the insurance is $100. Note 2s are selling for $120 on eBay.
So the rep told me I can add a line for $40, share the data and the extra line cost will be pro-rated and should take me to +/- $60.
What a pain.
downloading mine too. (Nexus 5 on Ting)Just got the lollipop OTA an hour ago
Smooth as silk so far
You can do this on contract exactly the same. He was just trying to get the subsidized price.Contracts suck. I haven't been on one in years. I buy my phones outright on eBay, and then sell my old device to cover some/most of the cost. It usually costs me $50-$75 out of pocket and I don't have to jump through any hoops.
I've lost 5 lbs since I installed the app this afternoon.Has anyone tried the Fit app that automatically installed?
I didn't get past the permission for access screen cuz I hate giving away location info. But I'm not a secret agent or anything so it's not too big a deal if it's worth the health benefits.
I keep missing messages in conversation view![]()
you people and the damn conversation view.![]()
That expand/collapse crap is annoying.![]()

I'm really curious how this happens. Doesn't it open the oldest unread message?I keep missing messages in conversation view![]()

I love the spigen caseJust put this neo hybrid case on my note 4. I don't know. Was way more comfortable without.

of course it's more comfortable without but you won't find a thinner case that offers as much protection imoNote 4?I love the spigen caseJust put this neo hybrid case on my note 4. I don't know. Was way more comfortable without.
Yup. Great phone huh.Note 4?I love the spigen caseJust put this neo hybrid case on my note 4. I don't know. Was way more comfortable without.
tempered glass isFinally got into the Note 4. Nice device.
I ordered the JOTO bumper case & got a glass screen cover.

What phone?Everything seems to load slower with lollipop.
I don't like it.
Can't stand conversation view. If that makes me old, so be it. But it's horrible. Hate that L will make me go download a third-party client to avoid it. If Google can allow you to shut it off on desktop email, why not on mobile?![]()

Really? My Nexus 7 seems pretty snappy. Haven't had any problems with it so far.Everything seems to load slower with lollipop.
I don't like it.
put me in the old camp. A lot of times I can tell if my email needs to be read from the sender and subject. I'm anal with un read mail. I just have a little extra work to do now to make sure it's all read. Can't stand conversation view. If that makes me old, so be it. But it's horrible. as annoying as you may be in this thread, that is pretty slick looking.Gonna share a screenshot of my home screen:

Haven't fully tweaked it out yet with Zooper, but this was a lot easier with Aviate as the launcher. If anybody wants this, PM me for the files.
ota or sideload? It also kicks me out of apps randomly. Total fail of an update. They better fix it quickly.
There is absolutely no difference between sideloading and OTA, other than how you get the file to start updating. I sideloaded both my Nexus 4 and 2012 Nexus 7. Lollipop runs great on the Nexus 4, but not so much on the 7 (the 2012 is long in the tooth, and has a bad memory design anyway).ota or sideload? It also kicks me out of apps randomly. Did mine OTA yesterday,a nd it's snappier than ever... no kicks out from apps... and msot improtantly, they FIXED THE "ONE SECOND FLASH OF CHROME/FACEBOOK" when I exit out of any app...
Also havent had the wifi issues...
The ONLY issue I have so far, is I really dont like the lockscreen "tap twice" crap... when i hit the power button I want to put in my pattern, not hit power, swipe up, then put in my pattern
Seems like a small issue, but really annoying and unecessary
odds are, and IM guessing, you have some sort of incompatible app that is causing these issues, or many of the issues in general for pplI restarted my nexus5, and the problems were fixed. But it was bad for a while.
Scrolling up and down in fbg threads is still choppy though.

if an app isnt yet updated for Lollipop it could wreak havoc on the system.
Im a minimal app kinda guy. The basics and a few necessities for me. No issues, whatsoever
