Amazon Prime Day Deals (1 Viewer)

I feel like I did pretty good this year.

Needed an EGO blower to complete my merge over to the EGO brand. Came with the 5.0 ah batter with is overkill, but having all the tools now its nice to have. Typically $280, got for $195. The battery alone is about $160. My kid has picked up a yard down the street so he's stressing out the battery powered tools.

Then found a Callaway range finder. $300 down to $170.
Dayum. I didnt see any Ego stuff on there (I didnt specifically look for those). My Ego lawn collection is pretty well maxed out, but I'm always on the hunt for a deal on those.

I intentionally tried to stay away from Prime Day this time around. The only thing I really flirted with buying is a drone, but I kept asking myself what I would actually use it for after the initial fun of spying on my neighbors wore off. There were a ton of them for sale, but I never pulled the trigger.

Have you tried non-EGO batteries? Wondering if they are worth the discount...

I have not

Dyson was the best thing I ever got my wife. Uses it almost every day. They're spendy but some have decent discounts and a clean home is very nice. And with pets, no-brainer, worth it.
Disagree. Plenty of other, less expensive options. Check reviews. See Shark for example.

Just purchased a cordless Shark from Costco a few months ago. Cannot ever see going back to corded.
The Dyson is also cordless, btw, but I have not compared the two. I just know she loves the damn thing, which is great by me.

Cordless is the way to go!

Glad she likes it. Take care.

that little $100 tube amp arrived in a day. the new klipsch speakers came yesterday. they probably need some break in time, which means i'm not impressed yet. for $125 still a steal, and a helluva desktop set up for $225. but the amp, goodness it is good. i did side by side comparisons with my two avrs on their main speakers. it crushes an old onkyo. much cleaner through the same speakers. so much so i'm taking the onkyo to the goodwill today. well, maybe. i'm going to try it as a pre amp for my two off brand aiyima chinese amps and see how that works. the little amp also bested a fairly new mid-range ($800) denon avr on some derned good speakers in my main tv room. it wasn't really close either, and the denon is much better than the onkyo. 🤷‍♂️

this little booger punches way above it's weight class

Bought 3 firesticks. Gonna be here this afternoon. Thanks for the reminder fellas.

Got a bunch of stuff for son going to college. Pretty happy with the prices for everything we got. Also grabbed one more fire stick.

Tell me why the firestick is so great and you gotta have multiples of them. Aren't they just a USB that stores streaming apps? You still have to pay for the app subscriptions, right?

I guess I just don't get the reason to get one of these things.

For me they're easy to hack and side load IPTV apps and Grey Market streaming apps like Kodi and Cinema HD.

Basically I pay about $7/mo for:

26,000 live TV channels
(basically every channel in the world including sports packages and PPV) ($5/mo)

Pretty much Every movie and TV show ever made on demand, unlimited, in 1080p or 4K. ($2/mo)
Can you explain how to do this and/or point to any tutorials/blogs/etc you used to set it up?

Not one iota of regret for purchasing a new Kindle Paperwhite (signature edition). Not one.

25 hours is the over/under on lifetime usage.

kodi is still around?
Yes but it's still not the best option from UX standpoint
What are you using? I am using Tivimate and it has worked well for me as easy to use and nice guide setup.
I've been using plex, but with google changing their storage policy I'm not able to add to it.
Are you able to use plex for Live TV? I used to use plex for my media, but didn't not know if it could be used for live TV

the quality was poor, but yes. i wouldn't rely on it.

I bought a new ring doorbell as its time to replace and upgrade my old one, two Wyze cam floodlight cameras for the backyard, an electric mop, a fence mount for a new Mevo camera I recently bought to stream my kids softball games, a pair of earplugs for going to concerts, and a few other small things.

I really wanted to go with a tube amp and bookshelf speakers for my office set-up, but I was challenged to find a nice pairing. If I found this a few months back I'd be all over it. I went with the Klipsch The Fives instead. Built-in amplification. For what I need it for, it works great, but not as cool as a tube amp. (y)

My parents gave me a Ring doorbell last yrar for Christmas and I haven't even opened the box yet. Needs to be installed and I have no idea how.

you have two options

1) charge it and just hang it up
2) remove door bell and wire into ring and hang it up

its really not rocket surgery

Agreed - I rank pretty low in terms of how handy I am with home repairs, but even I was able to install the wired version.

I wasn't. Something with the wiring caused the bell to continuously go off. I tried to add the component that was supposed to prevent that and still no bueno. Plus I kept breaking the thin wire and now it's too short to really try again to connect anything. So it's battery powered for me. I added the solar plate thing and I think it may help a little bit also think the AZ sun may have fried it a bit too much.

The solar panel works great for us in the upper Midwest. I added one to my front Ring doorbell on a Prime day a year or so ago and have had to recharge that battery maybe twice since then.

I hesitate to post this b/c I know it seems like a lot of money but I was looking for a good deal on a large spinning disk for storage when I stumbled across this 8TB Samsung SSD for $320, normally it's $400+.

ps: Well, this is hilarious to me. I am 100% certain this was $399 yesterday on NewEgg but for the next 11 hours it's the same price over on NewEgg. Ah well. :)
