Amazon Prime Day Deals (1 Viewer)

Oh man, Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra 512GB storage (12 GB RAM) model for $1030 (a $350 savings). I've gotten four years of use out of my Note 10 Plus, best phone I've ever owned, but it's about time. Thinking about grabbing a six-pack on the way home (and chase it with an edible) and see what happens.

My parents gave me a Ring doorbell last yrar for Christmas and I haven't even opened the box yet. Needs to be installed and I have no idea how.
you have two options

1) charge it and just hang it up
2) remove door bell and wire into ring and hang it up

its really not rocket surgery
Agreed - I rank pretty low in terms of how handy I am with home repairs, but even I was able to install the wired version.
I wasn't. Something with the wiring caused the bell to continuously go off. I tried to add the component that was supposed to prevent that and still no bueno. Plus I kept breaking the thin wire and now it's too short to really try again to connect anything. So it's battery powered for me. I added the solar plate thing and I think it may help a little bit also think the AZ sun may have fried it a bit too much.

The solar panel works great for us in the upper Midwest. I added one to my front Ring doorbell on a Prime day a year or so ago and have had to recharge that battery maybe twice since then.
I change the battery probably every 8 weeks or so.

I have the s21 Ultra and really like it. Probably going the s23 Ultra next year when it's time to upgrade if I don't take the plunge and try Apple. Both kids have while wife and I have always had Android.

Papa's got a brand new phone.
Damn, that must have been a hell of an edible.
I wish, but not yet. Four years was a good run for my Note 10+, and I have a buyer lined up for it already ($200 seems about right after a very quick scan of search results). Total damage after reselling old phone and and applying a couple of hundred in reward points is about $950 (includes 2 years of Asurion). Actually, I should be netting another $50 in rewards points with this purchase.

I know, your first post was like you were going to let the "substances" be your guide. Just having a little fun with that. But now instead you'll get to enjoy the thought of a new phone even more tonight. 😎

Yeah, I'll save the edibles and booze for phone case and a screen protector shopping.

ok, today is prime big deals day (OMGLOOKATME)

I just bought this for the car and I'm not really sure what else I need for my junk closet...
ok, got it last night and tested it out this morning. At first I was disappointed that it wasn't strong enough but when I went to shut it off it kicked up a notch and suddenly had the suction (hey oh) to not only get in the hard to reach places but to actually work as a shop vac.

With Black Friday around the corner, I'm in the market to replace one of our TVs. This is for our bedroom - doesn't need to be anything crazy. How are the Amazon Fire TVs - currently have a Samsung, I believe a 55", that is coming up on 10-11 years and has certainly seen better days - we stream through a firestick on this TV currently. Looking at the deals on Amazon and seems they have a pretty decent discount.

Budget right now is pretty tight, so price is a pretty big factor.

Any experience with these, or suggestions on other brands that won't break the bank?

Anyone find any good deals?

I'm not seeing any good deals but it probably depends what you're shopping for. I'll periodically look through my cart as their prices always change and the prime day deals are more expensive than some of the prices I've seen without prime. It's becoming more of a marketing gimmick.

I usually look for gift cards for places I would buy from anyway. Nothing yet.
Also look though previous orders in case there are items I might want to buy again. Just ordered some sketchers shoes that I like in a different color. Also a couple replacement filters for a levoit room air filter. And some comfy shorts.

Becoming???

I've found some great deals in the past. This time it just seems like standard discounts you can get throughout the year without prime.
Ex: I've been looking at Apple's AirPod pros. They were $169 a few days ago. Priced raised to $189 yesterday. Today as a "Prime Day Deal" they're $169. Thanks Amazon Prime

Got a platform for a mattress for my middle son since he’s in a house for college this year and it was a much better price than yesterday. Wife’s been getting other stuff for his room and shared areas. Prime Day is great for that. I enjoy it.

I was actually looking at that echo that’s like an alarm clock as well.

Was it a "pre Prime Day deal" a few days ago?

I bought them on Amazon June 27 and they were $199. Debating if it's worth the hassle of return and re-buy.

Doing the same - my oldest will be in a house this year, so need to pick up some cheap stuff for his room that I don't care if it truly survives a year in a college house, and some kitchen items. Picked up a crock pot that was near half price - I'll probably keep the new one and send our older one with him.

I hate that Amazon's algorithm got me, but the app sent me a notice that a fairly high-end toaster we'd been looking at was >$50 off. Genuinely good deal.

We bought a bunch at Costco as well but yeah, some of the Prime Day stuff is perfect for back to college, especially out of the dorm.

If you have an AMEX that gives you MR points, you can use as few as 1 points to get 50% off (up to $75) off at Amazon. You do have to use that card for the rest of the payment, so you forego the 5% cashback on the Amazon card if you have that. But unless you're placing a $1,500 order, it's a no brainer.

I just did it to save $75 on a Samsonite luggage set, on top of the 55% prime day discount.

Details here

ETA: you may have to be eligible for the offer, but the article above has the link to check that

Nope, just a normal price drop - under the product description it said it was the lowest price in 30 days. I thought the Prime Day deal would be lower but looks like this will be the best price. With certain products the price swings daily so you have to keep an eye out. I've seen these Pros go from 169 to 189 to 249 and back down in past month.

I use Amazon Lists for things that we're in no rush to buy. Picked up a couple of things today that were a little lower than usual price. It's fine to save a few bucks and it was easy, but I'm not scouring the Amazon home page to save a nickel on an LED bulb.

A toaster is actually one thing I need to replace, though I think I can get away with a fairly basic 4 slot toaster, but intrigued by what I can get with something higher end if it is worth it and features I'd use

Maybe check out a toaster oven. Does everything a toaster can do but so, so much more.

I'll never go back to a regular toaster again.

I'm still glued to this classic. Looks good on the countertop as well: https://www.amazon.com/Dualit-20293-2-Slice-Toaster-Chrome/dp/B00009NROG

$280, excuse me, with big prime savings, $260 toaster

Please tell me the customer "reviews" are hilarious.

That's a trap. You really want the 4 slice one - only $345!

I mean if your toaster doesn't have 16 different bread modes, each with a gluten free setting, what are you even doing?

Ordered the Amazon fire max 11 tablet for 139. I've seen it for 149, it's typically 199. With trading in one of my HD10 tablets I got it for 109. Meh, I've been curious about it for awhile so wth. The HD10 is probably the better deal at 74 today, but I use these all the time and went for the top of the line. Most reviews say it isn't that much of an upgrade over the 10, but some love the brighter bigger screen and faster processor enough to warrant the purchase.
