Antonio Bryant called out ESPN's Emmitt Smith and Trent Dilfer for depicting him as a player with "off-field baggage" during Monday night's loss to Carolina."I'm a real person and that bull---- Emmitt said on the TV about 'get my life right'...Trent Dilfer mentioned something about getting my life right outside of football. Last time I checked, man, don't be a hypocrite," Bryant said. "A lot of y'all can't really walk on the same side of the street I can walk on and still go put on a suit. So remember that, before you disrespect me like that on TV."
Wat?He's got the "they don't walk on the same side of the street" right.

I hope Emmitt and Dilfer disrespect him the same way this week. I could use another big performance out of him.

I think he's implying that Dilfer and Emmitt might have some "off field" issues of their own.

Actually i totally understand Bryants beef with them.

They are former players and should know not to say those things about him.

He was playing out of his mind and to have them mention his personal life was out of place

So it would have been ok for them to mention his personal life had he rocked 3 catches for 26 yards?Either way it doesn't matter. A guy gets paid millions of dollars to do something in front of millions of people, then his life's fair game. Not an ideal situation, but its what it is. The fact that Emmit and Trent are former players is irrelevant. They are **current** broadcasters. Their job is to talk about stuff like this and lend their insight regarding the player.

The fact that he had a major day was the reason they were commenting on why this doesnt happen more often and they brought up the personal stuff. Thinking about it now they were right to bring it up because that could be why he isnt a star, but i understand Bryant being upset with those comments, especially coming from Dilfer a guy who did nothing besides take a few snaps for a SB winning team

I don't understand why Bryant is upset unless he is just insane. If you have issues like he's had with teams and the law, they're going to talk about it on TV.

BTW, Dilfer has done a lot more on NFL football fields than Antonio Bryant has and Bryant sure as hell has no business comparing himself to Emmitt Smith.

This guy is a time bomb just waiting to go off again. I sure as hell won't touch him him in next year's drafts.

They couldn't talk about his personal issues if he didn't have personal issues. That's Bryant's fault.

He's making a bid to resurrect his career with his hands. He should take care not to undo it with his mouth.

I don't remember either of those two being suspended/arrested like he has. could be wrong though.....
Right, but that doesn't mean they're saints off the field. Keep in mind that the public only knows about a fraction of what goes on behind closed doors.

Well Emmitt should be arrested for impersonating a football analyst. It is absolutely amazing this guy still has a job.
I'm sure his public speaking mistakes were merely an amorition.

I can understand why he is upset with them bringing up old news. Am I mistaken or has he not had any issues all year?

Wow, the whole year you say? What an angel. If you don't want people mentioning your troubled past...don't have one. Or put it so far behind you it's ancient history. But in the meantime he should do what he's been doing and collect a real payday in the offseason.

From what I heard from some ESPN guys at the Gold Coast Indy this year, Emmitt's already been told he's a goner come season's end.
