Any news on Vincent Jackson trade rumors? (1 Viewer)

From Shanahan:

"That's another rumor that comes up, and it's a rumor. There's no credence to it," Shanahan said after practice Wednesday.Asked if he'd like to the lay the rumor to rest, Shanahan said, "I think I just did."

I wonder what VJ is doing? He's 30 minutes away from finding out whether he will be making 300k or many millions this year.
His agents compromised at the last minute with the Jets after playing hardball with Revis, so there is some hope for him unless SD's GM decides against trading him.

I don't think it's VJs demands that are holding this up, it's what AJ wants from the prospective team.

Chargers made the Superbowl in the 90's without AJ. Its just too bad they ran up against a good 49ers team
IMO these teams are alot better than that one year wonder squad. Sure the SB was sweet but the AFC was very weak then, No Brady no Manning, just the buffalo billsThat 49er team was great, perhaps one of the greatest of all time. no one was beating them that season

Anyone think we'll get an NFL Network Breaking News that says........... WR Vincent Jackson is still a Charger and nothing has changed. LOL

Yeah, there was also a somewhat miraculous win in the AFCC game against the Steelers to get to the big game. Sorry to bring that one up Steeler fans.

Another Hacksaw report:

Mike Shanahan denies Redskins are about to do deal to acquire VJ...WTEM-980 reported deal about to happen..They're owned by Snyder

Funny thing could be, if VJ gets traded, there will be a 50% chance he pulls a hammy/groin and miss some game for being just out of football shape.

Marcia, Marcia, Marcia!!!

That is how the rest of the league feels right now. It's all about Vincent, Vincent, Vincent............... and he ain't sexy like Marcia!

I'd say that it's a big factor. A team has to give up compensation to SD and big money to Jackson.

Neither Smith, nor his agents are saints. Clash of the egos and that's why the situation is where it is at right now.

14 minutes!!!Only 14 more minutes!!!Ok, 13 now!!
I suspect a trade could be announced up to an hour or two after the deadline.
I agree, unless somebody makes an official statement that a deal hasn't been made I'd hang on for another hour or two163 users and counting171 userss at 3:55183 at 3:563:58 200 User(s) are reading this topic (83 Guests and 4 Anonymous Users)

Already dealing with a chronic hip injury, Vikings receiver Percy Harvin now has another migraine, according to various media reports.

Coach Brad Childress disclosed the situation on Wednesday.

The fact that the statement came with time left on a ticking clock to trade for receiver Vincent Jackson and have him miss only four games suggests that the Vikings aren't concerned about the impact of any last-minute leverage on a possible deal with the Chargers.

Either way, we'll find out soon whether anything went down. The window closes at 4:00 p.m. ET.

As to Harvin, he previously expressed confidence that doctors had made progress in getting the problem under control. If they have, there's obviously still more progress to be made.

Anyone else have Harvin AND Jackson on their team? I traded a 1st for Harvin before the season because I was worried about Jackson not playing. :wall:

time's up

nothing on nfl.com or espn.com but could be because deal is still being finalized

Even though I don't own vj I would be willing to hold the pity party for all his fantasy owners. Pin the tail on aj smith, bobbing for millions are on the agenda.
