Anybody else benching Megatron this week? (1 Viewer)

Questionable already, gametime decision and I think even if he plays it's going to tough sledding against Haden and the Cleveland secondary. I'm starting Steve Smith against the crappy Vikings secondary with confidence instead. I just can't see him having a big game tomorrow if he even plays.

FOX's Jay Glazer suggests Calvin Johnson (knee) could play limited snaps if he's active for Sunday's game against the Browns.

Limited snaps lol. So he'll put up 20 instead of 30.

Reminds me of the threads from 2 seasons ago when people were benching Megatron because of 2 games under 10 points in a row. He then put up 35 on people's benches.

There's a difference in benching him because he had a couple of tough games and benching him because he can't play. He missed last week, it's not a small injury. On top of that from rotoworld this morning: "Per Glazer, the team is "hopeful he can help on 3rd down and red zone.". That sure doesn't sound good.

Crazy talk. If Calvin plays, he should be in you're lineup. No questions asked.

He's a game time decision. Just watch the pregame shows and adjust accordingly. This isn't difficult.

Starting Calvin and getting 2 points in limited action I can deal with. Benching him & he ends up with a typical Calvin game will have me sick till at least Wednesday.

I'm benching him for Blackmon. It's a start 2 WR league and I also have Dez. I would normally subscribe to the general sentiment of "active then play Calvin" but in this specific situation with Haden and Blackmon matchup, I'm going against it.

I'm already at peace is he does blow up on my bench. Just shows me that he's healthy enough going forward, which is the most important thing.

Gotta disagree. If your option is a gimpy, limited Calvin lining up against Haden, or Blackmon, I'd roll Blackmon out against Denver every time.

There's also the impact Calvin has on the rest of your roster. Last week, Reggie Bush was bottled up with Calvin out. If Calvin sits today, I'll roll with Giovani, if Calvin starts Reggie starts.

there seems to be some talk that he could play, yet stay sidelined on running plays. So that wouldn't really help out Reggie. This is all just speculation at this point of course.

I wouldn't be surprised if Cleveland won 13-10, or something like that. That Cleveland D is legitimate. At home vs. a hobbled Calvin.

If you have a decent option for Calvin (someone mentioned Blackmon), I'd go with the other option. If you have a decent option for Reggie (someone mentioned Gio), I'd go with the other option. I'd figure out another option for Stafford as well.

GL All.

He can effectively be my flex this week so if he's active I'm rolling with him. The other options are a gimpy Darren McFadden or Tin Ginn.

Steve Smith OP? I'm debating starting Denarius Moore over Smith, and only leaving Smith in because Smith is playing MIN. He has been terrible for FF this year.

Not everyone likes winning in their leagues I guess. Benching your studs when there's speculation is certainly not the formula for winning.

I'm hesitantly starting him over Allen-SD. I'm sticking with the never bench your studs rule on this one, and also another rule which is don't ever bench your #1 pick.

I just don't like the gimpy, 3rd down, decoy talk, because it's very valid. The Haden matchup is also very valid. The combination could equal a very "meh" outing for Calvin this week. I honestly would rather they rest him, but they tried that last week and it got them a loss because they had zero respect for the passing game w/o Calvin. They NEED him on the field. I need him to do more than just be out there.

f***. it's between him and Vernon Davis at home against ARI for me. Can't believe I'm really thinking about it! :-/

NFL countdown just made it sound pretty optimistic. Not only is he playing, but he's starting. Not sure there was ever a difference. The said it with conviction though. Sounds like he's fine.

If Calvin lays an egg this week i'm coming back to this thread and i'm going to be totally unreasonable. And i know better.
