Anyone else going to a home today... (1 Viewer)

I'm going to one today - and I don't care - I'm finding a TV and will watch - or at least keep an eye on things. Too much at stake to not have the games nearby.

I hate going to places where there is no Internet access and you have to look like a dork carrying a wireless laptop to watch the stats.

yes. fortunately it will only effect me watching the cowboys-jets game. even though thats the game where i have the most players represented.

alcohol should help the situation.

-biz-

this exact scenario is why i got a slignbox and a windows mobile phone. If this were to happen to me again, i will be watching on my cell phone! :-)

I stay at home where I'm the King and dictate the action. Holidays are for enjoyment not punishment. LOL, I don't understand why some of you die hard fans put yourselves through this.

Long Live the King! :moneybag:

Unless you are a Falcons, Jets, Colts,Cowboys,Lions or Packers fan....I don't see why this would be a big deal. These games are horrible matchups. That being said, I know people who don't follow football.....but I don't know anyone who would be adament about the games not being on in some form....but if your watching games on laptops, portable phones, TV watches or any other form of portable technology they have today...you need help.

This is a sad, sad thread. I'm glad I gave up fnatasy football a year ago. I'm no longer a stat junkie like some of you sad fellows. I watch games for the sheer enjoyment of teh actual game, not to watch the stats of Shaun McDonald or some other poor schlep.

 Gotta love a fellow Texan.... this is EXACTLY the way it is at my house, too. If the relatives dont like it, they can hang out in the guest house. I will visit at halftime. GO COWBOYS!!!

:bye: I'm with you and I guess we're in the minority. Yet the wife has served me finely, as I recline in my lazzzzzzy boy, watch the game and surf the web. Life is good when your King. ;)

Yet.. you're posting on a fantasy football message board. Cut the cord already. Sad indeed.

make her drive her own car.I have sirius so I can listen to the game on the way home.

Obviously, he's either a liar or he was REALLY BAD at fatasy football.

not sure i get this, family and friends mean a heck of alot more than watching some football game. if you watch or don't watch it has NO bearing on the game......have a good time with your family and read about it in the paper later.

My friends and family mean alot to me as well but I don't see how that should stop me from watching the game as well. A good host cares about the comfort of their guests so they will have the game on. Besides, it is unamerican not thave the games on during Thanksgiving. Thousands of people are putting off their Thanksgiving so that we can watch the game. I don't think I could make so little of their efforts by not watching the game.

To me, it's all about respect. If your hosts know that some of the guests watch football, they should provide that even if it's in the basement, etc.. To not give you the opportunity to be comfortable in their home is being a rude host. If I was having some guests over Saturday night and I knew they were big NBA fans and there was a big game on - they would have access to a TV even though I HATE the NBA. It's just part of being a good host.

I stopped playing two years ago. With two kids, work, and all the curve balls life throws at you doesn't allow me to give FF the time it needs to be at the top. I have won a few championships and I do miss it sometimes. I still come here because I have been on FBG's since old yeller and I enjoy all the football talk.

my wife's family will be doing Xmas on the Sunday before Xmas, week 16 of the NFL. Her family will NOT turn on a TV to watch football. She better hope I am not in any FF SB, if so I might get :goodposting: that morning.

My BiL is not into sports. It sucks, but that's the way it is. Other than that gigantic flaw, he is a great guy. Also, he and my sister are kind enough to host Thanksgiving and Christmas for 18 people every year. I'm not about to walk into his house and start demanding what to put on the television. Besides, my plan worked just fine. We were at his house from 1-6, then the g/f and I went to see "American Gangster"... and by the time I got home, I watched all three games in a little over an hour, fast-forwading through commercials and huddles. I managed not to hear anything about any of the games all day long.In response to the bolded comment at the top, five of my ten players were going in these games. Just HAD to watch.
