Jump on the bandwagon now

1. Vick is not as bad of a passer as everyone would like to believe

2. Mora is opening up the play book and allowing more passing plays

3. Vick's scrambling ability and Lelie's downfield threat make a perfect combo for deep plays

4. Lelie has always had the talent

5. Rumour is that Lelie will start in place of Rody White very soon

If Vick and Lelie work on some Berrian/Grossman plays you may have a top 15 WR down the stretch.

Yes laugh at me if you want but consider yourself notified

Vick sucks and I would not own a ATL WR if I was given a fee roster spot for them....ok maybe if I got a free roster spot but that would be it!

chambers and evans on bye....i decided last night to roll the dice on lelie.

why not? i agree-slight chance there is something good here.

Keep hating.

Lelie gets a chance to prove himself in ATL.

Vick proved that if he needs to he can win a game (and against a good defence).

Especially on rollouts and broken plays these two could be money

fixedLelie really isn't all that talented. All he ever did in Denver was run past DBs and every now and then he caught the ball (a lot of the time he couldn't even do that). He has very poor ball skills despite his size. He's worthless.

The Steelers pass defense horrible. Their run defense is very good. One plus the other equals the result you saw this past week, which will be a fluke. Unless they play Pittsburgh every week.

A likely change will come at receiver, where veteran WR Ashley Lelie is expected to assume the No. 2 spot held by WR Roddy White. Falcons HC Jim Mora did not announce a switch but hinted at the move. "He's a good player, and you need to get your good players on the field, and we need to keep getting him on the field," Mora said. "He just catches the ball." That's what White, a first-round pick last season, hasn't done enough of. White has had drops in nearly every game, including the first pass against the Steelers. Lelie led Falcons receivers with four catches against the Steelers for 58 yards. Three of the catches were clutch.

replacing Roddy White wouldn't be earth-shattering news considering Crumpler and Jenkins are currently the team's leading receivers on a team with a QB that has a run first mentality. Lelie would have to supplant Jenkins in order for him to gain any merit.

HC Mora: "Vick-Friendly" Offense This Week

Sal Paolantonio, ESPN

Jim Mora said that he has installed a more "Vick-friendly" offense this week as they host the Steelers. This includes curls, skinny posts, and the deep ball.

Lelie 4 for 58 :pics: get ready for more baby!!!!

C'mon do you really think Jenkins would be the #1 WR.If Lelie starts he is the #1

Lelie will never be a true WR1. ALL he can do well is run fast. He is completely ineffective on short and intermediate routes. Most of the time he struggles just to get off the line of scrimmage. He often misjudges deep balls. He doesn't use his size to his advantage. Things he should be good at, like jump balls in the end zone, he is not. He often drops easy balls. Sure, he'll show flashes of brilliance, due almost entirely to his outrunning someone, but the bottom line is that he is incredibly inconsistent.

He progressed his first 3 years in the league

Huge leap from his 2nd to 3rd year.

He had a down year in his 4th year.

Now we are in his 5th year.

So far he has had no oppotunity in ATL to be the top guy.

Sounds like Mora is willing to use him as a spark plug for the offence.

4. Lelie has always had the talent ?????????

EVERY SINGLE PERSON THAT HAS EVER HAD HIM ON HIS TEAM OR FANTASY TEAM HATES HIM. Except you. Mora Jr. will only say he's "fast"! That's it. He is the biggest tease the game has seen at WR. Antonia Bryant is up there also.

no. Crumpler is the #1otherwise, I don't think it really matters. neither has any fantasy value.Jenkins 31 targets; 15 receptions (48%) 13.1 avg 197 yds/2 tdsLelie 22 targets; 12 receptions (55%) 17.3 avg 208 yds/0 tds

He was effective against the Steelers on short and intermediate routes. Some of the stuff you say is true of his play in Denver. However, he may take the change of scenery as a chance to redeem himself. I think he's a good dynasty play as he could be had cheap.

All this optimisim that a couple of you are experiencing, all Denver fans have been there. Trust me when I warn you to temper your expectations - not only for fantasy purposes but in real football as well. Lelie just isn't a very good football player, and you'll soon realize this.

He has improved in the last three games catching the ball 7 times with 10 targets. I would want to see a game or two of him as a starter, but there could be some fantasy value there for the rest of the year. I wouldn't write him off yet.

It's all about perception ... :banned:

I am not saying he is a great player, but you simply cant do 1084/7 in the NFL and be as sorry as some are trying to paint in this thread ...

Thats not one good game, not three good games, but top-20 production over 16 games ...

I will take a flyer on that if the price is right ...

:)

Lelie was going to be the undisputed #3 in Denver if he wasn't such a frigging crybaby. He wanted to get the playing time and paycheck of a #1 receiver when he had the 3rd best WR talent on the Broncos. There is an outside chance that he could resurrect his NFL career with his newfound change of scenery. I don't think he will be any more than a weak WR4 on a fantasy team due to his situation in Atlanta. Vick has the run first mentality and when he does throw, he is going to look for the guy he is comfortable with, Mr. reliable, Alge Crumpler. Most NFL teams only look to throw deep a handful (if that) of times per game. So, I think 4 catches a game for Lelie is about what you are going to see from here on out. Yardage will vary and He'll probably have a few TDs sprinkled in there from time to time. If you are desperate due to bye weeks or very deep leagues, then maybe he is worth a flier. You may get lucky and play him on a week when he actually catches the TD pass instead of dropping it.

What a novel idea from the football genius - an offensive scheme that actually fits your QB's talents! What a concept!
