Wife and I are expecting in January

If it was a boy(it's a girl)....we were seriously considering Beck as a name.

Not enough to make up for it. Every other dad I know would have been jealous of Trammell Whitaker.....now I'm left with a nerdy Star Wars reference. At least my kid ain't as whiny as Luke Skywalker.

I already have a kid named Presley and she's awesome. Looking to add a cash and then maybe a Jagger.

Expecting our second son in February. We decided on our first son's name early and easily (Donovan), but the second one is causing some consternation. Likely either Kieran or Hunter (suck it, zed).

OK, a bit of backstory here.Our parents' first names begin with E / R (males) and J / M (females) respectively. We decided early on in the marriage that (a) we wanted two kids and (b) we were going to give them first and middle names beginning with those four letters to honor the grandparents.#1 was a boy, so we went with the E-R combo. (His first name is Ethan, though in our defense it was before Ethan became insanely popular.)#2 was a girl, so the J-M combo was next and ... umm ... really, have those in the peanut gallery thought about how hard it is to give a girl a decent "J" name these days? Here are the "J" names at the top of the current SSA girls' list:1) Julia (meh)2) Jocelyn :X3) Jasmine ("Now welcoming to the stage...")4) Jade ("wanna go in the back room with me, baby?")5) Jessica (1981 called: they want their popular names back)6) Jordyn (so help me God, I'd have had to kick my own ###)The only name in the top 200 I remotely liked was Juliana ... but, let's face it, by the time she gets to 6th grade it's gonna be "Jules". I dated a "Jules" in high school and I hate "Jules". (The two facts are not necessarily unrelated.)So, I came all that way to say this: if you're looking for a "J" name, go with Juliana instead. For a floral name, please think about Lily. Or even Ivy. Juniper? Really?

BUMP.

Have a 17 month old son. We went with Jacob. Apparently it's super popular, although I don't know any Jacobs. I guess that's because they're all six years old. Anyway, we both just liked it.

We have another in on the way. Don't know the gender yet. I'm pushing really hard for Dexter. I will lose. My consolation prize will be Mordecai as a middle name. I have no idea what it means or whatever, it just sounds...awesome.

We're screwed if it's a girl. My wife likes names like Sienna, which sounds like a Mt. Range or a soda to me. Either way I can think of easy ways to call a girl named Sienna a whore.

"Heeey, I climbed mount Sienna last night!" :hi-five's his buddies:

"Someone had a nice tall glass of Sienna last night!" :hi-five's his buddies:

"Hey, I ####ed Sienna last night!" :hi-five's his buddies:

So probably hoping for another boy.

We're having a girl in June and we are at a complete loss as to what to name her. We don't have any family obligations for first names. I want to use my mother's maiden name as her middle name, but my husband and I can't seem to agree on what to call her. I feel like his suggestions are all grandmother names or stripper names and I think he thinks that my names are too boring (I like names like Katherine and Elizabeth, etc.).

This isn't as much fun as I thought it would be. :kicksrock:

Olivia

Corinne (not sure how you spell it)

Elisabeth

Morgan-- this is my wife's maiden name. her father only has daughters, so the "Morgan" name won't be passed down. thought it would be a cool way to honor the name

Jacob has been the most popular, or second most popular boys name, every year since like 1995.

So if you want to use it then you should go with Jakob, because misspelling it would be really cool and unique. Or you could add something to it, like Jacoby. Or Jakobee.

Boy: First Name - Owen (A name that I've always liked) Middle Name - Daniel (my first name)

Girl: First Name - Amelia (We liked the name 'Mia', wanted a formal first name), Middle Name - Louise (my wife's middle name)

We have 1 boy already, Connor Michael, who is an 18 mo. old.

Wow, somebody with some solid name choices. :thumbup: Maybe there is hope after all.Hmm... Owen Daniel... has sort of a ring to it. :unsure:
