My second fav, and often I'll go with a couple of each. Hard to beat a good el pastor, but I'm a barbacoa guy - a bit more clean and crisp a taste.when compared to a good pastor, meh
Thanks for reminding me. Added carnitas to ranking. When done correctly, carnitas are the best, followed closely by chicaron. Watch out though; some places will try to pass off pork rinds instead of using real chicarones. :X
this. Al Pastor is where it's atwhen compared to a good pastor, meh
I need to try cabeza. Bet that's amazing. Don't know if I'll ever be on the lengua bandwagon.Real street taco rankings:
1) Cabeza
2) Al Pastor
3) Barbacoa
4) Carnitas
5) Lengua
If you like brisket, you’d like it. If it is cooked properly it as awesome.I need to try cabeza. Bet that's amazing. Don't know if I'll ever be on the lengua bandwagon.
Of courseI have a question: is it possible to get truly good tacos outside of TX, NM, AZ & Ca?
Discuss.
It didn't used to be but I feel that has changed in the last 5-6 years. But, finding cabrito, cabeza, lengua, ojo, and some of the better options is going to require enough Mexican population to support them. So good tacos in Chicago in 2019? Probably. Lincoln, Nebraska? Not so much.I have a question: is it possible to get truly good tacos outside of TX, NM, AZ & Ca?

Yes, but there is greater probability of getting good to great in the states you mentioned..... just higher number of better tacos.I have a question: is it possible to get truly good tacos outside of TX, NM, AZ & Ca?
