Just some great life advice here. Wish these damn things were not so expensive in the southeast. So I'm at the trader joe in April, see the 4 pack of avocado and think i'll pick this up and make some guac. What am I? a chef? No, I'm not. So at about the 4 day mark i realize my $3 purchase is about to go in the bin unless I do something like eat the things. I cut one in half, remove the pit, take the peel(?) off and apply a little salt. Wow. That's pretty good. i'll have another. And another. and another. And here i am 250 of the ####ers later.
My cholesterol dropped from 177 to 143 and from what doc says the good cholesterol went up(hdl?). I sleep better. Richard has been standing seemingly all the time. My poops slide out almost undetected. I met a friend out for drinks on preseason Monday, I was in this great mood. Why? It was a preseason Monday. Oh yeah, i've been choking down 2 avocados a day for 4 months.
In conclusion: where these green suckers been all my life?
Well at least until poop starts sliding out your Richard and you die from it being infected.Just some great life advice here. I love meat & avocados, but the green ####er will never be a substitute for meat!I started with salt but I just eat them plain now. Make sure they're ripe or they can cause stomach pain and they can be tough to poop out, like unripe bananas. Learned that the hard way.Maybe my favorite thing about them is I can eat them first thing in the morning or for lunch or for dinner or for a late night snack. I decided last month to never buy meat for home (unless I really wanted it) and just eat these. I'll eat meat out but the avocados at home make for a nice substitute.I want to try this. I love guacamole but have never really had plain avacado. Do you just eat them plain with salt? Any other easy daily recipes.
My dear friend, do I have something for you! TA DA!!!!!So I'm at the trader joe in April, see the 4 pack of avocado and think i'll pick this up and make some guac. What am I? a chef? No, I'm not. You can freeze them.MTskibum said:I have an avacado tree and this year was the first year we got a solid harvest.
It is almost 25 feet tall now. The only problem is they all became ripe at the same time.
Did you buy it or grow it from a seed? Did you have to graft or do you have multiples?MTskibum said:I have an avacado tree and this year was the first year we got a solid harvest.

I bought a 25 gallon pancho avacado 6 years ago.Did you buy it or grow it from a seed? Did you have to graft or do you have multiples?
Miss BrongLove the surprise poll. But it shoulda had this.
I have two avocado trees off my lanai that produce zillions. Reach out and grab them all day long if I want. I've got to try this. If an avocado a day will keep the Imodium A.D away, I'm in!
Neighbor has this big, black lab (Count Blackula) who's super smart, and that thing has figured out how to peel the skin off fallen avocados and eat them; it's crazy. Every morning he goes to the bushes under the avocado tree and finds one (uno), sits down, and has breakfast. I walk him a lot and have always wondered why his poops are so spectacular. Who knew???
Yeah, I'm going to try this soon.
