So, as you might have heard, there is a big soccer match on Saturday.  Winner hits the lottery and is rewarded with untold riches - loser goes home.

Who are you backing to win?

And, for the record - this match is more important...has more on the line.

The winner stands to increase annual revenue by about £80M, while the loser basically gets nothing.

In the CL final - Madrid and Liverpool will both be richly rewarded just for making the final.

I am torn - normally I would root for Fulham here.  But Spurs are likely to get Sessegnon if Fulham remain in the Championship.

The richest game in all of soccer. Deloitte did a valuation a couple years ago and I think they estimated value to the winner at about £150mil. Obviously much more if they can stay up. I think the tradition in this game is the winning club gives all the game day revenues to the loser to soften the blow.

True story: Back in the late 90's/early 2000's, when I was first getting into English/European soccer I had to make a choice which club I was going to support. Eventually narrowed it down to Chelsea and Aston Villa.  At the time Villa was pretty consistently in the top 5-7 in England. Darius Vassell and Juan Pablo Angel were likable and fun to watch. I liked that they seemed like perennial contenders yet hadn't lifted a trophy in ages - didnt want to be a front runner! Ultimately went with Chelsea because they had a pan-continental lineup, just made an unlikely run in Europe, and signed George Weah on loan.  :banned:

So anyway I voted for Fulham. Hoping to see a renewed Fulham-Chelsea rivalry .

John Gregory's managerial career took a turn toward the weird after leaving Villa

The restaurant that I tore the light off of the ceiling at during the Portugal Eruo win, is the place we're all watching the game at.

I'm taking the light with me.

When the final whistle blew in the game I jumped up in celebration. I hit a budweiser chandelier light on the way up, caught it and proceeded to rip it off the ceiling and pump it over my head like the trophy.

They let me keep it      :suds:

Promotion/Relegation is so awesome. I love the championship playoff and the last few weeks of EPL the best part is easily the scramble for safety.

No way you can jump that high.
