Are you kidding? Tubby's job was seriously in jeopardy?
Of course it was. The team had imploded in the Big 10 schedule in 2010 and 2011, and this third year they go from being ranked #8 earlier to not receiving a single vote in rankings last week. It's remarkable with this talent they could go from shoe-in NCAA to maybe on the outside looking in over 5 weeks, but it is a reoccuring issue. How it happened, struggling to get to 50 points with these scorers, is tough to watch. I don't personally agree he should be let go because I remember well the failure of previous post-Clem Haskins coaches. However, no way was Tubby generally considered untouchable after losing 8 of 11 with this roster. I don't see how they can miss the NCAA now,
but let's say they lose the last 3 and do miss, I think there is legit chance he would be gone. Let's face it, the team has proved it is capable of playing Duke close and beating MSU and Indiana, but (in my scenario) loses 12 games? The great wins make the losses that much more inexplicable, and that has to reflect on coaching.
