Bragging, venting, crowing, grieving... (1 Viewer)

Started Burleson on Thursday in my Divisional championship game worth $1000. Gordon and Jefferies made up for it today.

So, apparently the league rules were changed sometime between last year and now (and this is the 20th year of the league) and tie breaker went from being point differential to head to head. So, despite being 2nd highest scorer in the entire league I will drop to 7th place and out of the playoffs based on a fluke loss in week 2. We need a rule to reward great teams with crappy schedules. My actual record will be 7-6. If I played any of the other 12 schedules my worst record would be 9-4. I am done with this stupid game. Not only that but this year we agreed to go from 8 teams make the playoffs to 6 teams make the playoffs to avoid unworthy teams making it (we have had sub .500 teams make it in the past. Well this year we have a good team (mine) get burned by it. FML.

In FFPC, going against Jeffery, Decker and Newton in the championship game. Over 130 points between those three alone. Looks like I'll be settling for second...

In a PPR league, does it get any better than this for the 2 WR, TE, and flex postions?

C Johnson, A Johnson, J Graham, A Jeffery

:pickle:

2 week cumulative playoff, first round: ERIC F. DECKER decided to come out and play. That was some fun stuff.

I'm now sitting on a 38 pt lead, with Drew Brees still to play, heading into week 2 of this combo matchup.

Finals feels pretty close right now.

Set league scoring record to clinch division, bye next week, and $100 for division title.

McCown -31 pts

Charles - 17

Bush - 22

Lacy - 3

Jeffery - 48

Gordon - 52

Walker - 0

Walsh - 11

Giants D- 22

Total - 206

Previous league record was 202 last year the week Doug Martin went stupid.

:moneybag:

the onslaught continues....after starting starting jordy and streater against murray on thurs I am up against patterson, fitz today. I had to pickup walker to start for julious thomas and he got injured. I am doomed this week.
Still pulled out the win! Peyton decker combo saved the day. Earned a first round bye

Not trying to start anything here just genuinely curious, but how did the giants defense get 22 points?

In my league they got 8. No TDs no INTs one fumble recovery and 5 sacks and gave up 323 yards and 17pts.

Wouldnt the chiefs defense have scored like 60 in your league earlier this season in a game? They had 3 picks, 9 sacks, a td, 7 pts against, and maybe a FR.

I only had to beat the bottom team (2-10) to win out the regular season and get 30% of the pot.

Of course he has Ben Tate and Josh Gordon.

Even then I still would have had a chance had i not a) benched CJ Spiller for Eddie Lacy and b) left Jordan Reed in my lineup. I saw he was going to play in the morning but didn't have time to swap him out (was at church).

These are the times when I say to myself I'm done with fantasy.

Highest scoring team in my league but also the highest scored upon team and barring a miracle tonight about to miss the playoffs. This game can truly suck sometimes.

I all but virtually had most points locked up for the season, which comes with a decent prize $$$... The team 90 points behind me had Josh Gordon, Alshon Jeffrey, Demarco Murray, Justin Tucker, & a few others play (not a dud on his entire team). He put up the most points ever scored in our league and still has Jimmy Graham to go.

Jimmy needs to stay under 31 points tonight!

Got smoked going against Josh Gordon in two money leagues. One of which I needed to win to make the playoffs. That team started the season 6-2 and will end up 6-7 despite second most points this past week. Couldn't overcome injuries to Aaron Rodgers and Julio Jones :kicksrock:

Yes I went 6-7 and was the second highest scoring team in the league but had the most points against. Lost that last 3 games of the season to miss the playoffs and all to teams I was favored to beat pretty easily. I just had one of those years where no team had a bad week when they played me. Just horrible...

Mostly vents here, so I'll add a brag. After starting the season 0-and-2, I've gone 9-and-2 since then (the losses were less than 6 and 5 points). This week I scored the most points in the history of the league, and still have Marshawn Lynch going tonight. I even overcame losing Reggie Wayne and Justin Blackmon during the season.

Playoffs start next week, so reality will probably strike me between the eyes and I'll put up a stinker.

I've had Josh Gordon in my FLEX pretty much all season long... :tebow:

He's only put up 132 points in that league the past 3 weeks! That's 44 ppg over the last 3. With Brandon Weeden and Jason Campbell

I've seen some #### in FF but Gordon's rise to dominance this season has surprised me. I figured he'd be a solid FLEX guy... NOT pushing to be the #1 WR with a 2 game suspension (2 0's factored in to avg) under his belt

Our defensive scoring is pretty aggressive. For the Giants yesterday;

  • New York Giants 5.0 sacks (10.00 pts)
  • New York Giants 17 total points allowed (4.00 pts)
  • New York Giants 139 net rushing yards allowed (2.00 pts)
  • New York Giants 184 net passing yards allowed (4.00 pts)
  • New York Giants 1 fumble recovered (2.00 pts)
The Chiefs defense is the #5 ranked overall "player" in our league - in the game you are referring to, they had 46 points:

Kansas City Chiefs 1 INT return TD (6.00 pts)

. . . Kansas City Chiefs 44 yd interception return TD

Kansas City Chiefs 9.0 sacks (18.00 pts)

Kansas City Chiefs 7 total points allowed (8.00 pts)

Kansas City Chiefs 121 net rushing yards allowed (4.00 pts)

Kansas City Chiefs 153 net passing yards allowed (4.00 pts)

Kansas City Chiefs 3 interceptions (6.00 pts)

Had the first round so I decided to give all of my starters a rest and start my bench players, besides not realizing that Ridley was a scratch it turned out to be not so bad. Haven't started CJ Spiller since way early in the season and he decides to have his best game of the season, whoot.

Last week of the regular season, with 4 teams fighting for the last 3 playoff spots. Going into the weekend, I had the best chance of the three. Now, after Thursday, I am the one in need of a miracle. The 6-6 team is up by 40 points, I am the only one of the 7-5 teams that is losing. Based on tiebreaker, the 6-6 team beats the 7-5 team that is the only 7-5 team that has the tiebreaker on me - and the worst 7-5 team that would lose all tiebreakers is playing a guy with no qb, no kicker, and two IDP guys not in the lineup.
It gets worse....in the 20 years history of this league, I scored the 4th highest season points scored (the Peyton owner set the new overall mark). So 4th place ALL TIME and I will miss the playoffs. Crazy. Talk about bad luck in scheduling. What is worse is that I was middle of the pack in points against...it just so happened I consistently lost all coin flip games.

Had Josh Gordon going, opponent had Alshon Jeffery...and he proceeded to drop him shortly before 1pm to pick up the Buccaneers DEF because he forgot to put the Steelers into his lineup on Thanksgiving. Oh and he started Boykin too. Up 21 now with Jimmy G. left to go. Gotta love local leagues sometimes

Eleven leagues ... all PPR dynasty ...

Finished 1st, 1st, 1st, 1st, 1st, 2nd, 2nd, 2nd, 3rd, 3rd and 6th on points.

Cumulative all-play record of 69.4%.

Made playoffs in every league, and am guaranteed the semis or better in seven.

JUST missed the playoffs in four dynasty leagues.....on TIEBREAKERS IN EVERY ONE!

It's over in my $$ league. Amen.

<rant>

I'd like to thank:

-Dalton: For keeping me in the hunt until I had to get desperate and trade him...for an injured Rodgers.

-Forte: For being who I thought you were.

-Allen: For at least showing up after I picked you up. To think I sat you vs the Chiefs.

-Orange Julius: for going OFF! Until you got hurt.

-Crosby: For doing what you do.

-Chiefs D: for showing up big time. Well, until you got exposed.

The Walking Dead?:

-TRich: That was rich, alright.

-Wilson: Thought you could've been a fine RB3 with upside.

-Tate: Traded in desperation for help- before you became the starter.

-Ellington: Thought you might stop the bleeding. #### you Arians.

-Roddy: My multiple year keeper- I fear that it's time for us to part. Those 22pts on my bench that cost me the playoffs?...

-Bowe: Thanks Alex...

-Welker: Concussed the week I trade for him.

The IR:

-Rodgers: A gamble to help a flawed team in the playoffs...

-Bradford: QB2 in QBBC...

-Locker: That didn't pan out. QB2 jinx?

-Blackmon: SRSLY?

-Williams: "Thanks." You gave me an injury move...

-Finley: You were beginning to put it together. I hope you are okay.

Special fantasy "thanks" to:

-Arians: For your use- or lack thereof of the aforementioned Ellington

-Kubiack: For ####### with Keenum who I brought on board to hold things together with that sweet stretch schedule.

-The owner who accepted the OJ for Witten trade I offered before the week 9- after the lineups were locked. Cost me two W's.

And the clincher:

-Peyton/Decker: WHO PAID YOU GUYS OFF!??

</rant>

:exhale:

Edited to add that that was truly cathartic. Everyone should try it.

Finished up 12-1 regular season in my 16 teamer with Most total points (half the $$)

All play record was 171-24. 88%. That is crazy.

4 weeks this year I played against an opponent who put up their highest point total of the year and still won all 4 match ups.

Already clinched a division title in one league: 9-1 record

Will win another division title and first round bye with a win this week in another league: 9-1 record

Fighting for yet another division championship in another league with a three way tie for first place at 7-3.

May I remind everyone that I ignored RB for the first three rounds in the leagues where I am 9-1. I drafted Doug Martin in the first round in the league where I am 7-3.

25-5 combined record.

If only I ignored everyone's advice and drafted Calvin instead of Doug Martin in one league in the first round, the result would have been even better.

The new paradigm in fantasy football... Ignore RBs in the first three rounds.
Update: Another 2-1 week but suffered a tough loss in the league that I, you guessed it, drafted Doug Martin in the first round.

27-6 combined record

10-1 and clinched #1 seeds in the playoffs in two leagues

7-4 in the other league
With that catch by Welker, I have lost a tough matchup against a team in our league who has clinched the 2nd seed (Josh Gordon was primarily to blame for that).

Nevertheless, another 2-1 week.

29-7 combined record

11-1 and clinched the #1 seed in one league

10-2 and clinched the #1 seed and a first round bye in another league

8-4 in the final league... still in contention for the division title and a #2 seed.
In the final week of the regular season, I was confident that I would finish strong with a 3-0 record except that Drew Brees crapped in his pants. No matter, my 2-1 final week concluded one amazing regular season.

31-8 combined record

11-2 and #1 seed in one league

11-2 and #1 seed in another league

9-4 in final league and #3 seed... missed #1 seed by 48 points scored

This sets me up perfectly for an early exit from the playoffs!

It always seems to work out this way - the year Brady and Moss went nuts, the guy in our league who owned them both went 25-1 in the regular season (we play doubleheaders,) then had his bye and lost his first playoff game. FF is a cruel mistress.

Broke the league's single-game scoring record (league is 4 seasons old) with 184 points last week, breaking the record I set in Week 1 with 177 points. Also well on pace to break the total season points record.

It's been a good season.

I missed out on Edelman on waivers because I'm a flaming maroon.

Went with my first gut, presuming he'd regress as Dobson and Thompkins and Amendola before him.

I didn't really take the time to evaluate until this morning, after waivers had run.

I am regretful now.

I coulda had Minitron.

I am sad.

2 things this year. Had Daryl RIchardson in dyno... was offered Stacy for pretty reasonable. Said NO THANKS!!! :bag:

My one league we do rotisserie scoring. I am teh number 1 seed. I am the number 1 seed by 31 games. Yes I dominated..... BRAG

GUarantee I get knocked out next week!!!

I've faced Andre Johnson 3 times this year. He's scored 49.9, 20.1, and 28.4 in those 3 matchups. His stats in those 3?

30 catches, 604 yards, 3 TDs.

98.4 pts in 3 games v me. 154 in the other 10 games.

That's f'n ridiculous. Oh, and he was on my team 2 weeks before the 49 pt game. Traded him, and he was then traded to the team in question. Die.

My team is 8-5 and my first round playoff opponent is 6-7. We've already played twice this season and he outscored me 390 to 184. They represent his two highest games and my two lowest games of the season.

He started Andre Johnson.

Effen DISH Network got into a pissing match with our local FOX ownership and now I will not be able to see the Niners/Seahawks game  :hot:
