Bragging, venting, crowing, grieving. (1 Viewer)

Hauschka missed 2 PAT's in week 11 as well (one was blocked). He just isn't getting many FG chances lately; hard to trust, but it's a kicker, so what can you do? I'm not gonna sweat it personally.

I grabbed Hauschka as an FA after he was dropped during his bye. Thought my woes at kicker were done.
You are me and I am you. Still, has a soft schedule to close so I'm riding it out.
Hauschka isn't someone you can realistically bench.....at least in my opinion.

He seems to be top 5 or so year in and year out.

Now that aside, I know he had an extra point blocked yesterday, didn't he get a FG or another extra point blocked last week as well?

That is terribly fluky and something no human can predict.

To boot- Its not like the Seahawks offense wasn't firing yesterday from what I saw.

The opportunities should be there.

I own him in one league, and I don't like his recent results but thats just part of the game.

oh I agree 100% with your analysis.

I'm just venting and grieving!

I'm not that lucky
Skill plays a part - but luck is the biggest factor. I can make three easy cases just in the last 3 years. Three years ago, was 1st in scoring by over 140 points (league average score = 90 per week) - yet was 7-6. Evened out because went on a roll in the playoffs and wound up finishing 2nd. Last year was 3rd in points scored by a much narrower margin but lucked into a much easier schedule, and wound up 10-3. This year am 3rd in scoring but dead last in points allowed by almost 200 points and have a 3-9 record. The thing is though I have scored more points this year than I did last year through week 12 - but have given up significantly more points as well. All comes down to match ups - this year I just got unlucky. Makes me wonder if all play is more indicative of skill versus luck. But, in 22 years of playing this game my good luck has offset my bad luck - so you have to look at a longer view than just one season.

Luck can't possibly be the biggest factor when the same people consistently win/place year in and out. It's tiring hearing the same people say I just get lucky year after year, and I see them making the same mistakes year after year.

Luck is definitely a factor in this, however the game should always be hedged where skill prevails over luck.

If it were predominantly skill you are wasting your time chasing the peanuts earned in fantasy gaming - instead use your prognostication skills to destroy the market. Yes there is skill - but to think skill outweighs luck is foolish. Now if you suck, no amount of luck will change that long term.

When I sit Stafford, he goes off and throws every play even with a huge lead. When I play him this week the Lions jump out early and they shut down their offense for the rest of the game. Missed Calvin twice on easy TDs with a little touch. I think I have made every wrong move this year I could have.

I would have started Rodgers last night if I hadn't picked up Luke Willson in waivers. Stupid Jimmy Graham. :sadbanana:

Not too stoked.

Week 13 madness is upon us, and I'm already going through the "gut check" of knowing fantasy is almost over.

I am fortunate in that I made the playoffs in all 4 of my leagues, but the ever growing darkness known as "no fantasy football" is slowly but surely coming.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I am already dreading waking up when week 16 is over.

The entire morning ritual will be gone.

No waking up with caffeine, and looking over all my lineups for news.

No checking for injuries.

No looking forward to the games on Monday night, Thursday night and of course the full weekend slate.

No making lineup decisions.

No fantasy football.

Forgot to add in a little "venting" part to my last melancholy post concerning the end of FF soon.

Damn hail Mary Thursday night may actually prevent me from getting a bye in two separate leagues.

Facing Aaron Rodgers in one league, and Richard Rodgers in the other.

FFS, playing against a 5-7 team, currently 6-6 with a points lead over everyone in the league.

Running into the best possible team this week for #### sakes.

Update: noon games still not over, opponent has hit 200 pts... Mariota and Allen Robinson combine for basically 100 pts - he still has three guys to go.

Was 6 and 3 4 weeks ago and feeling good about the postseason. Flash forward to today.

Romo gets hurt

Lacy gets benched

Cutler and Jeffery lay eggs today

Lose 3 of 4 and lose tiebreaker for season total points.

Karma is a #####. I guess that's what happens when you repeat as champs.

I'm going to end up with either the highest or 2nd highest point total in the league but there is a very good chance I finish in 7th place and just miss out on the playoffs. I came into this week in a situation where a win gets me in and a loss eliminates me. With about 10 minutes to go in most of the games, I had a healthy 30 point lead and projected to get the highest point total in the league. Then, Hopkins, J. Allen and Marshall happened. Now I will end up with the first or second highest point total and probably miss out on the playoffs with the 2nd highest point total of the week. I hate this game.

My team that started off 1-6 has rattled off 6 straight wins to find its way into the playoffs.

Hoyer

Draughn

David Johnson

ODB

Allen robinson

Greg Olsen

Tucker

Bills D

Just curb stomped the team I played today.... ;)

Still leading my matchup, but after benching Richard Rodgers on Thursday night for Luke Willson, I also benched the Philly D in favor of Minnesota.

:lmao: I currently have 97.5 from my starters and 110.1 on my bench :lmao:

ETA - and we don't even count special teams TDs, just defensive, or I'd have 2 more TDs on the bench.

After an 0-3 start, won 9 of 10 to finish 9-4 and get the #1 seed for the playoffs. Killing it this week, with the league's high score (by a huge margin). Amazingly, only a single player that started for me week 1 was in my week 13 lineup.

These are all the things I am looking forward to. No more of all that stuff, the commercials, the bad officiating. Off season can't get here quick enough...but it will have to wait. I'm in the playoffs.

Here here. Fantasy is too much like a job for what you get out of it.

My "main" dynasty league, wow what a season. This is our 5th year. We have a separate message board we all post on for the league and I was recently voted the best team in our leagues history through five years so far: tied for most championships (1), championship game appearances (2), and playoff appearances (5); most regular season wins (51); highest single week score ever (214.7), and most division championships (4). This will also be the third year I've earned a bye.

Anyways, tonight's game sealed my 4th straight division championship (made the playoffs year one but as a wildcard) and earned me a bye. I went 12-2 on the regular season (we have a double header week 1, that's where the extra game comes from) and am rolling into the playoffs in two weeks on a 9 game winning streak. If I can make it to the championship game, it will make it 3 out of the last four years. And if I win it will make it two out of the last four, with almost complete roster turnover.

I'm pretty pumped.

I like that my opponent changed his lineup at the last minute from Ingram to Buck Allen.

And I lose by 9.

Luckily it didn't cost me a bye. Thanks to Cam and Allen Robinson for beating the team that could have taken my bye.

Highest point total in the history of the league was 218.30

Now it's 246.55!

QB-Newton

RB-Williams, Freeman

WR-Brown, Jeffrey, Aiken

TE-Walker

Flex-Allen

K-Nugent

D-Denver

On my bench, Roethlisberger, Draughn, Ginn, Chandler

Crazy Week.

Making the playoffs in both leagues with a 5-8 and 6-7 record. Woo hoo.

My solid backfield of Buck Allen, Thomas Rawls, TJ Yeldon and Shaun Draughn has kept me going.

Could of rebroken the all time single week scoring record in a standard league if I had played cooks over landry. Set it earlier this year with 170, was at 167 with landry. would of had 183 with cooks, or 189 with cooks and denver D.

Ready for it to be over, getting about time to go fishing
