Brandon Marshall Ruled Out For Sunday (1 Viewer)

Marshall is not worth the hassle. He is very talented, though his numbers have been inflated due to the system
Eh? I am pretty sure that McDaniels is not running the same system that Shanahan did, and Marshall flourished greatly in both, so no offense, but your statement doesn't make a lot of sense.
If Marshall goes to the Ravens or Miami etc you are going to see a drop in his numbers...esp receptions. Both Bates and McDaniel's systems are heavily pass oriented.

Shanny's system was never heavily pass oriented until 2008, and that was only because they had so many injuries at RB, they almost had to throw the ball a lot. Marshall will put up big numbers almost anywhere he goes. If Davone Bess can catch 76 balls with the Dolphins, I think Marshall can catch 100. And the Ravens, with Flacco, throw the ball more now, so he would do well there, too.

The Broncos were 9th in passes attempted this year.

I have been trying to connect the dots and finally have what I believe is a plausible scenario of what happened here.Sunday - Broncos lose to the Eagles 27-30. McDaniels is livid that his offense could not get a first down in the final minutes to seal the win.Monday - McDaniels meets with "team leaders" who give him the green light to hold underperforming players accountable. McDaniels lays into the offensive line for their soft play as of late and demotes Scheffler to the scout team.Tuesday - Brandon Marshall is upset with the Scheffler demotion. He let's slip that he might "pull a hammy" this week.Wednesday - Marshall pulls a hammyThursday - McD accounces that Marshall will be inactive for final game for disciplinary reasons.Saturday - Team announces the same for SchefflerPlausible?
No.You can only be a team leader on the Broncos if you're a McDaniels guy. "Team leaders" were put on the field to replace Cutler, Scheffler, and Marshall. On Sunday 2 of the 3 of those leaders failed (Orton and Graham); only Gafney did well. McDaniels isn't holding Orton and Graham accountable right now. He didn't want better performance. He sacrificed that because he wanted loyalty.

:goodposting: He wanted loyalty and he wanted a scapegoat. I think he was already giving up on the team and looking for a couple of Shanny players to hang the failed season on. Guys who air dirty laundry in public and who as the head man don't take responsibility usually do not succeed.

Orton: yes man. Backup on other teams. Says what he thinks Mcdummy wants to hear so as to continue as a starter.

Graham: says what is needed to rid the team of his superior competition (Scheffler). Apparently someone let out that Scheffler said he 'couldn't wait for the season to get over'. Wonder who.

These guys are not stupid.

Graham pretty much plays a different position. Scheff is a TE in name only. Graham is the blocking TE and Scheff is a WR in a TE body. I won't disagree that McDaniels was stupid to go through the media, but I highly doubt Graham and Orton had their jobs in mind when they and the other vets went to McDaniels.

Someone ratted out Scheffler. Graham is the likely one. He has the most to gain. He becomes the fulltime starter blocking and receiving TE. I think that's exactly what thy were doing. They have to say whatever pleases the HC.

I'm pretty sure the OM is 100% crazy.
