Breaking Bad on AMC (3 Viewers)

All kind of BB stuff going on down at comicon. Aaron Paul just posted a pic. Can't bring myself to drive down to that nerd cluster though.

As much as we are supposed to hs e sympathy for Jesse now, he really did #### up a lot in the first few seasons. Had Walt just left him out when Gus said so at their very first meeting, who knows how things go. Pay Jesse his 600k from the first 38 pounds, and then just work for Gus wth Gayle.

Season 2 was really good. I just completed my rewatch last night. I will say though, the whole plane crash thing and how it was built-up the whole season still falls flat for me. Yes, Walt's actions/inactions have longer consequences than he realized, but that's a little much/far-fetched.

I think Season 2 is the weakest of them all. The first season wasn't very long, and it seems to me that perhaps being given almost twice as many episodes of season 1 left the writers scrambling. They quickly resolve the Tuco bit in the first three episodes and then are kind of left searching for a plotline. I think the whole plane thing was a silly attempt at having a culminative event. They could have had a plane crash along with Walt's epic speech at school and pretty much everything else that went with it WITHOUT the Dad being the guy that crashed the planes. At the same time, Season 2 is where the show finds its voice and declares that it is both dark and funny. When "Peekaboo" (ATM episode) happens the whole show takes off and hasn't looked back since.

I don't quite get the hate for Skylar. I am pretty sure most women would do a 180 if they found out their husband of nearly 20 years starting selling meth and eventually started killing people. However, it is certainly a shame how her looks really went after Season 3.

There is nobody named "Skylar" on this show.

(Sorry, part of my thread shtick... welcome aboard.)

I agree. She was really pancaked by the truth when Walt dropped it on her. And she did waffle for awhile, even with a lot of egg on her face.

corrected

Yeah, I think she had convinced herself that, as much as she hated what Walt was doing, he at least was just making it, but once he all but admitted to killing Gus and the others in the nursing home ("I won."), she realized what he had truly become.

I always hoped Walt would get some with the HS principal just to show Skylar she wasn't the only one who could slut around town.

She ####ed Ted.If Sky accepts what Walt did for the family, acknowledged his talent and doesn't go off ####### ted; Walt may not have gone back to cooking. They have $500k and are good to go. He's happy etc. he gets booted from school, gets pissy with Jesse, and is all emasculated because she ***jed Ted and didn't accept what Walt earned.

She really shoved it in Walt's face. That's what made me hate her as a character. Walt's done a lot of messed up things but he never went out of his way to intentionally hurt Skylar. It's been the exact opposite. But she wanted to hurt him and did. As bad as a guy as Walt has become, I've never felt like Skylar was a lily white princess by any means.

Not to mention the fact Ted was an even bigger muck up than Walt. Skylar was quite the hypocrite. She despised what Walt was doing but had no problems banging her boss who was stealing money from the company.

You have to remember what preceded that though. She wanted him out of the house and he couldn't respect that. She even called the cops to get him out, then backed off on telling them what he was up to. Her spiteful Ted-banging felt totally right.

No way would Walt have stopped cooking. He was already in too deep with Gus.

Totally agreed.

I'm not Team Anybody. I watch for the entertainment, not to root for any one specific character; not in a show like that. Both Walt and Skylar have made some mistakes, but his are far more egregious and damning. But he was presented as the protagonist for the bulk of the series thus far, so I get that most will root for him. It's like how everyone was rooting for Tony Soprano over Richie Aprile, even though both of them were piece of ####s.

I was having fun.

I watch for entertainment too. As far as this show goes, Skyler's a character I stopped caring much about right when she started f'ng her boss. I'm not trying to paint Walt as a saint because he clearly isn't but one thing he's never done is go out of his way to intentionally hurt Skyler. Skyler, however, didn't have any problems crossing that line. If her actions were justified in the eyes of some fans, that's cool. For me, it made me dislike her as a character.

People make mistakes. Marriage is tough. He ended up confessing to her and she was unwilling to even talk about it. If she really wanted a divorce, she could have left and been more aggressive without ratting him out. ####### your boss and telling your husband out of spite while the cum is running down your leg or for a power move is despicable.

If we're gonna compare this show to The Sopranos, I will say the Skyler-Ted thing was a helluva lot better than the Carm-Furio storyline. I F'ING hated that. So horribly done although it did lead to arguably the greatest Tony-Carm scene ever. That was sensational but still not enough to offset the horrendous craptitude of the Carm-Furio storyline.

But that did lead to the uncomfortable scene with FULIO's moobs when he was tending to his garden.

Walt - Responsible for numerous deaths directly and peddling probably the most devastating drug all around the southwest.

Skyler - Had sex with her boss

Hmmm.
