Breaking Bad on AMC (2 Viewers)

I dunno, you guys - I thought this episode was fantastic. It may have been the funniest yet. Not quite sold yet on the Hank/Gomez reunion, but I'm rolling with it.

Everything else was pitch-perfect to me.

My apologies if someone has posted this thought...

While we are all focused on Jesse's gasoline pouring rage, his attempt to potentially burn down the White house, and who (or what) stops him from doing so, I think we are overlooking a huge potential effect of this:

From flash forwards, we obviously see that the White house doesn't burn to ground, but it appears that the kitchen area might have fire damage, and looks scorched.

I think there is a strong possibility that Jesse's fire, while not taking completely, does manage to do damage. The most important of which is it destroys Walt's lottery tickets with coordinates to the buried money.

Without the coordinates is Walt able to relocate the buried money? And if not, is that the driving factor to him to have to start cooking again?
wow...good point
Or maybe Walt does some cooking for Todd and Co. in exchange for getting someone(s) taken out.

I also noticed the "Deadwood" box set on the Shaeder's shelf. Wonder if they ever ask Skyler if she thinks she looks like that chick from the show. Oh, and I also wonder if a drug kingpin would really leave his back door unlocked.

But, mostly, I really, really, really, hope that there's a future episode of the "Better Call Saul" spinoff in which Saul resumes taking classes at the Dojo.

My only 2 issues with this episode. Minor yet they bug me for some reason.

I have never seen a cell phone that just lets anyone listen straight to voicemail as Hank did. I havent seen a pay phone or a bank of pay phones in probably 5-8 years.

I think Gomey is a mole some of the looks he was giving jessie was pretty revealing. I think the Marie/therapist scene is setting us up for something.

Great episode. Jesse is really the only one on this show that is smart enough to foil Heisenberg. He freaked a bit, but it was understandable when he saw the other guy standing there. He's put himself squarely in the crosshairs now though so it's going to be a showdown.

My phone automatically plays voice mail if I press and hold 1. Of course its a Blackberry so it may not count.

According to the website for Albuquerque Civic Plaza, there are pay phones available on site.

Now this thread has Tim and people criticizing RN posting the Sep review. Jesus. I've really seen it all now
I have complained about RN and his girlfriends reviews in every tv show thread. For what ever reason I loathe Sep and his ilk. Even though I know its stupid I can not help myself. :bag:
I'm with you. A link would suffice. People gripe about the length of Gekko's posts, which I don't read either, but that's ok?

I stand corrected then thanks

The episode was lacking until about halfway in when they showed Jessies point of view with the gas.

My wife loves this series as much as I do, but she wants to know why, ever since the very first episode, we have been subjected to so many scenes featuring Bryan Cranston's white underpants?
That was a regular thing on Malcolm in the Middle too.

So the scene with Todd and his dad and the other guy at the diner at beginning of the episode after they raided those meth guys. Todd's dad, wipes blood off his boot. Was that maybe not from the meth kill, but maybe Jesse's blood? and some foreshadowing?

Nah. They were pulling the meth lab behind them still.

Plus, at this point the show is a few years behind the current date. Series starts with Walt turning 50, the dinner scene from presumably right near the end is Walt's 52nd birthday.

and toddcalled walt to tell himthere was a change in ownership. Do some people even watch the show?

Did Hank change Walt's voice message?
Think there were two messages, right? The first one he played when Jessie was sleeping and the later one when they were at the table.

"Say just for the sake of argument the kid's not in the mood for a nuanced discussion of the virtues of child poisoning." - Saul

So, what is Jesse's "better way" of taking down Walt? Could it have something to do with Skyler? Jesse knows how unhappy Skyler is with the whole situation...see: the dinner scene, which was referred to last night (possible foreshadowing?), and how displeased she was that time they were dropping stuff off at the car wash. I wonder if there is a way Jesse thinks they can use that to take down Walt. Just spitballing here...

While I tend to agree last night didn't have the same WTF ending as most and thus seemed weaker - more about moving the chess pieces around.

But this is a testament to how great a show BB is - last night was a good episode - and it feels like less cause the other episodes are great.

No telling what Jesse thinks he can do - but I doubt he assumes he can turn Skyler. And I don;t think it's Todd either as mentioned by someone else.

Could it be Saul? What about Jesse's statement that he is going to hi Walt where he really lives (or something to the effect)?

I think some posters had it right earlier that he's going to go at Walt's ego. Ruin Heisenberg's reputation

Great episode IMO

Also, the Sepinwall articles are just about the only things worth reading in this thread. Keep posting them please. TIA.

Can last night's episode put to rest the idea that keeps getting thrown around here that Hank is somehow the one "good" character on the show?

Hank is so hell-bent on bringing down Walt that he sends Jesse into a situation that could get him killed with absolutely no concern for his safety. Hank is not a "good" character. Hank has elevated the pursuit of his goal of catching Walt above concern for other human life -- a parallel to Walt's own immorality in his affairs.

The only two "Good" characters left are Flynn and Holly. And it is still my gut feeling that they both get caught in the crossfire and die a needless death

See you guys Sunday. This #### is brutal. Sorry if I ever contributed to ruining things.
Ditto on all accounts. This was a good thread up until this year, when the shticktards decided it's time to ruin another FBG TV thread.
Huh?What makes this thread awful is the terrible predictions about what everyone thinks will happen and the way that most posters don't even seem to pay attention when watching so they have to get everything explained to them multiple times.

Good shtick is almost always appreciated in any thread.
Don't forget the douchenoodle that keeps posting about the college football pick em group. Unless you consider that shtick.

Haven't heard from in awhile have you?I think he took a trip to Belize.

Jesse spent so much time looking at family photos at Hanks that I have to assume that he's going directly after them.

agree 100%

Hitting him where he really lives is a reference to one of three things:

1. The money - Jesse doesn't know where it is.

2. The family - no way hank goes along with it and considering Jesse is upset about the Brock thing still, i doubt this is what he's thinking.

3. His ego / power of Heisenberg. Only thing that makes sense and the only reason for any of the Declan / Todd stuff this year.

He's either going to tell the white guys that Walt flipped (which I doubt because that puts his family in danger as well) or he's going to appeal to walts ego somehow in an effort to get Walt killed.
