women NEVER do this. What probably happened here, IMO: the woman wigged out, over-reacted, and probably said a few things to the police last night that she shouldn't have said.

Today is Spellman's birthday. Coincidence?Drafted by the Bears, but did play in DallasI was thinking Alonzo Spellman but he was on Dallas, right?Beat me to it. Didn't he stab himself in the back a couple times?Demitrius UnderwoodWho was that defensive cat that the Vikes drafted and then flittered around the league for awhile, before flaming out in a big way?

That was exactly what I was thinking, sting.JIsn't rule #1 when speaking in public to take the ####### gum out of your mouth? Kim must haved missed that in Public Relations 101.He was unresponsive. She couln't have known that is what it was. I'm in the camp that she panicked and babbled. .. probably doesn't even know what she said. Not impressed with her p.r. capabilities. It still sounds like somebody called the police in for a possible suicide. However, I find it hard to fathom such a call would be made if a woman who claimed to have seen everything kept rambling on about how he was having an allergic reaction.
Couldn't it be that DPD just f'ed up? To me, that's the simplest, most logical explanation.I'm not one to put cops above lying, but why is it that one side or the other has to be lying? Not saying the Police never lie, but why would they lie about what she said. What would they get out of that?? Her story is obviously full of holes..She definitly lied. No way in hell the police would EVER lie.His publicist is full of crap...Yeah the Police lied..Yah right..She made a fool out of herself...The police report is public information, would like to see the press get ahold of that..I just don't buy TO and his publicist's story.
You're supposed to comb your hair, too. (just watched the replay)btw, she did say "t was a long night, guys......I don't remember everything." This will make it hard to deny that she said anything in particular, i.e. her denial that she did not say he was depressed.Isn't rule #1 when speaking in public to take the ####### gum out of your mouth? i thought she said he has 25 million reasons to "be alive"?This is almost as irresponsible as...well...most of this thread. His publicist flatly denied telling police that TO was depressed, which is part of police record. In the high point of the press conference, she added that TO had 25 million reasons not to be depressed. Perfectly classy way of wrapping this up...Not to be overly blunt, but how many "reasons not to be depressed" did someone like Kurt Cobain have. Depression doesn't know the size of your bank account.
Wait a second: you think the DPD F*ed up? That's the most "logical explanation"? Seriously? Did you watch the PR person skirt the questions? Yeah, I remember a friend of mine in college who was found wandering around campus by Campus Police, wasted. They didn't want to arrest him, just take him home, so they asked him his name repeatedly. She obviously didnt have enough horse sense to realize an empty bottle of pain killers doesnt mean you slammed them all. Especially as a PR rep it might have occurred to her to see if his symptoms more closely meshed with a guy looped up on pain killers or a guy about to go into a coma from a sever overdose. Ok, its one thing to err on the side of caution, but to suggest to the cops (not the doctors mind you) that he was depressed... what kind of PR rep does THAT? Kinda suggests she might not be the sharpest bulb in the shed.Should I be surprised that Terrell Owens' publicist, Kim Etheredge, doesn't have enough public relations sense to take the gum out of her mouth before addressing the media at a press conference?

That was my favorite. I had to rewind to make sure she really is that dumb. We get calls from the dispatch center all the time that don't match up to what is actually going on at the scene. The call screeners are, I believe, basically taught to look for worst-case-scenarios when they're taking the call. They listen for certain buzzwords, and will categorize calls appropriately, or sometimes inappropriately. They may have heard "Pain killers" and "unresponsive" and "empty bottle". Bingo...you have a call going out to a firehouse:Medic 3, Engine 24...Box 789, Overdose, Possible Attempted Suicide, 32 y.o. Publicist is definately an oxymoron here. The chewing gum, appearance and the "25 million reasons" comment are not doing anything for TO. She should be paying him......I also noticed that she said "when Terrell came home" NOT "when Terrell got home/went home etc....Quite possible she could be the first live-in "publicist"....Well, a couple of pages back I asked if she was his gf Never occured to me she could be the publicist. but this may partially explain his crappy public image. That was my favorite. If I didn't kill Bret Favre, it certainly wouldn't have with TOI don't believe TO or his publicist. Now, I'm not saying he tried to kill himself. Maybe he just thought it would be fun to take 35 Vicodin and see what it did to him. Whatever.
It this truly was a bad reaction to pain pills and supplements, and the whole suicide thing was a complete police/media fabrication, anyone's sincere response would be one of anger--not the whole "happy go lucky" response that we saw from TO or the "deny everything at all cost with a smile on my face" response we saw from his publicist. Think about it, fabricating something like that is serious ####--wouldn't you be pissed as all hell? I know I would.
Whatever happened, TO is clearly embarrassed and just wants to put it behind him. It is truly sad, but the bottom line is they are both full of ####. I wish him the best.

HIPAA.Will they release information from the hospital about what they did? For example, if they deny he had his stomache pumped or something like that, then we could be sure he didn't exactly pop 35 pills, right? Also, I think they are probably the only source we can trust, anyway. Who knows what happened at the scene, I'm sure it was hectic, to say the least. You can never really trust the "victim" whether it's TO or not. And, you sure as heck cannot trust the media.I think hospital reports could be the most telling bit of information, if it officially comes out.
