Bridgewater suffers potentially serious knee injury (1 Viewer)

Maybe I'm wrong in this but from what I remember reading in other cases, we may be rooting for a break as apposed to a tear, correct?  Isn't it better to break a bone than to tear a ligament?
Not if he totally shredded the knee joint/bone.  A clean break below the knee, maybe.

Depends, what if it was a femur break that clipped an artery or there's nerve damage?

Given the ambulance and the fact they cut practice so short, that would make sense.
Yeah...that was my question.  It's not "normal" to cut a practice short after an injury is it?  Even to the starting QB?  I feel like it would have to be a "traumatic" injury to those who saw it, which would lead me to think of either bones sticking out (a la Thiesman) or some serious blown-out knee.

Total rumor, but I've seen it twice in the giant Reddit thread from people claiming to know someone in the organization,  might be a dislocated knee which could "tear everything" if it doesn't go back in cleanly. That'd also explain the immobilization and ambulance,  not wanting to risk more damage before it can be treated.

Teammates reportedly "freaking out" and throwing helmets, sounds like they knew he was done. Can't continue a practice with emotions running wild like that.

Sorry for Vikings fans and football fans in general. This was a young, talented, exciting QB - definitely one of the guys I was most interested in watching this season. The move he put on that Chargers guy in his downfield scramble last week was vintage Vick. I thought he and Diggs were going to be a very enjoyable combo.

I never understand people who crap on NFL players for trying to get every dime they can. Careers can change and even end in an instant.

Interesting. Must be still for accurate MRI images, which take time. Possible Bridgewater in too much pain.

Bridgewater was sedated at hospital. In MRI now, Zimmer says.

Joe Webb in Carolina seems like a reasonable solution.  I'd like to see him get a shot in the NFL now that he has more experience.  Doesn't make sense for Carolina to carry three QBs that are better than a few team's starters.

We've seen him in mn before. No thanks.

If you want to dig up former Viking QB Tarvaris Jackson is looking for employment.  He seemed to stick around as a backup quite a while.

I was surprised the Seahawks let him walk until I saw Boykin play in the preseason.  I think he'd be my top option of the FA QBs.

What I don't get on this is that I thought it was almost always the case that there is too much swelling right away to get an accurate MRI.
