Bristol Palin - Still single, Still pregnant (1 Viewer)

Sinn Fein

"I wanted you guys to be the first to know that I am pregnant," Bristol Palin's Thursday blog post said. "Honestly, I've been trying my hardest to keep my chin up on this one."

"I do not want any lectures, and I do not want any sympathy. My little family has, and always will come first," she wrote. "Tripp, this new baby, and I will all be fine, because God is merciful."
Thanks Obama

I do feel bad for Bristol Palin. I guess she was engaged this spring and then broke the engagement off, so the speculation will run to the conclusion that she stepped out on her fiance. Which probably isn't our business, no matter how much of a goof her mother is.

This whole thing is stupid. If you're not abstinent, don't talk about babies out of wedlock. If you're divorced, don't talk about the perils of divorce, etc. It's enough for one to be cynical about her intent and motive (REALLY???)

It's nauseating.

No idea why people care.
She runs around telling everyone how to behave. She rants about gay marriage destroying America and here she is unmarried and pregnant, again, the very thing she got paid to be against. So that's why people care. Appoint yourself a moral arbiter and you will get grief when you don't walk the walk.

It's not even the getting paid, which simply implies a cynicism that comes along with it -- I think that's understandable. There are millions of paid hypocrites in the world that say one thing and do another because they're getting paid. It's the entwinement that necessarily goes along with moralizing about human fragility when one endeavors in exactly the opposite direction one need take in order to fulfill the moralizer's position.

It's irritating.

i disagree a little. Isn't she trying to be famous for being famous? I think when you hold yourself out in the public spotlight you take the good with the bad. If anything, I think this story helps her more than hurts.

She made it everyone's business all by herself. No one told her to go on Oprah and say she was never having premarital sex again. No one made her go out and lecture other women on how to behave. No one made her go out and talk about how gay marriage was destroying "real" marriage. Live by the judgemental tweet die by the judgemental tweet as it were. No sympathy for her at all.

Man, if Palin had gotten elected it would have been like the real life Beverly Hillbillies. Only in DC instead of Beverly Hills.

The Capital Hill Hillbillies?

I've vowed to never get fat again. I've participated in weight loss threads and offered nutrition advice and even disagreed with others' nutrition advice. And I'm fat again. Which means its perfectly valid to ignore my thoughts on nutrition and weight loss. But I still think it would be kind of ####ty to revel in my personal failure

I'm sure she was sincere when she was on Oprah. I'm sure she's given her opinions on social media and regular media. I think its hard to resist the impulse to speak when someone offers you a microphone. I'm not sure that justifies the reaction.
