By CHRIS McPHERSON

Head coach Andy Reid announced that three players will begin training camp sidelined on the Physically Unable To Perform list - running back Correll Buckhalter, and rookie wide receivers Jason Avant and Jeremy Bloom.

Reid said he will re-evaluate each player's status on a day-to-day basis.

Buckhalter re-injured the patellar tendon in his right knee during last year's training camp. The injury sidelined him for the entire 2005 campaign. After beginning his career with a rookie rushing record 586 yards in 2001, he has lost three of the past four seasons due to knee injuries.

Buckhalter successfully returned from a torn ACL in 2002 to finish with a career-high nine touchdowns in 2003. For his efforts that season, Buckhalter was voted by his teammates as the recipient of the Ed Block Courage Award, given annually to the player who exemplifies commitment to the principles of sportsmanship and courage.

Avant was one of the Eagles' fourth-round draft picks in 2006. The former Michigan star hyperextended his knee during organized team activity and underwent knee surgery to clean out cartilage on June 20.

Bloom, a fifth-round pick in 2006, tweaked his hamstring muscle and underwent an MRI Thursday evening. Reid did not have the results at the time of his press conference.

Every other player is scheduled to practice. The rookies and selected veterans will begin the practices Friday morning at 8:45 a.m. Practice is open to the public.

Well I expected Buckhalter, but Avant and Bloom are a surprise.. Hope at least the rookies are up and going by preseason. Not putting up much hope for Buck.

So who stands to gain the most from this? Tapeh or Westbrook? Gut says tapeh becomes the main goaline option but could westbrook see more red-zone carries now?
