Build a FRANCHISE draft (2 Viewers)

im sorry i havent been around. i anticipated making the picks up yesterday but got caught up at work. if someone would care to finish up the draft for my team thatd be great.

round 34: Cardinals select Jerraud Powers, CBEagles select Demorrio Williams, MLBPanthers select Lestar Jean, WR round 35: Cardinals select Isaiah Pead, RB Eagles select Joe Lefeged, SPanthers select Rob Jackson, OLB
There really are a lot of good line backers...

RD 35

Giants select -

Andre Ellington , RB

productive RB in an explosive offense has surprised some draft scouts ....in the right place he could be very productive.

RD 35

Chargers select -

Matt Scott , QB Arizona

Scott provides a nice combination of running ability and productive passing. Could pressure Weeden for the backup role.

36: Cincinnati Bengals select Bront Bird, ILB
Huge (6'4" 250) inside linebacker with coverage ability. Probably best as a special teamer but can play/start decently in a pinch.

36: Oakland Raiders select Everett Dawkins, DT
High-motor DT with decent talent who could contribute in a rotation right away.

36: Cleveland Browns select Emmanuel Lamur, OLB
Undrafted FA who showed up for the Bengals. He's 6'4 230, can cover, and plays strong or weak side. Yes please!

Colts: Michael Jenkins, WR. Steady veteran who is among the best blockers at the position. Will help spring CJ2K on the outside runs.

49ers: Tashaun Gipson, S. 2nd year player who showed some promise last year for the Browns. Looks to be the starting FS for them this season.

Jaguars select Derek Sherrod, OT
I took him in round 33.
C'mon man, spell his name right, please

A little bit more effort, would cause a lot less problems in the future.
Search by last name. That is correct.

EDIT: I search by last name, first name, and total name to make sure someone is not gone. Odds are that even if the first name is spelled wrong, the last is correct, or vice-versa.

Hey, it is on the person picking to make sure he is not gone. Mistakes happen, and will happen. We all have a set time for the picks to be in, so we are all effectively on a 23:59:59 clock now. Plenty of time to make sure a guy is not on the sheet, misspelled or not.

I admit that I misspelled his first name, but the last one was correct. You know, the one you should be searching by to begin with?

Did someone spell Charlie Johnson wrong too ...? Mistakes happen.
Yes, actually they did, and I deleted it, within a minute of posting, which is the reason you couldn't quote it.
didn't try to quote it.... but nice catch of your own selection....

some of these guys have crazy names .... makes it fun...hahah

When you are searching for a bunch of names in a draft with over 1,000 picks and some of the last names are Johnson, Smith, Jones, etc. you get into a rhythm of putting in the whole name.

You should spell the name right. Kind of makes you come off like an idiot if you don't...it's really easy.

Broncos select Cameron Bradfield, OT

Chiefs select Quentin Groves, DE/OLB

Saints select Steve Gregory, S

Groves is a backup edge defender for our 3-4 look.

Gregory is a versatile backup who can play both safety spots and has good starting experience.

How many rounds are we going? This is becoming a pain the balls.
I can just feel the collective interest for this plummeting. I wouldn't be opposed to upping the pace or reducing the rounds to get this done quicker. I'd prefer upping the pace though to maybe 2 picks per day.
Last week everyone complained about 2 rounds a day. We've only done 5 rounds since then. Has so much really changed?

I'm fine with doing that, or we could just stop at 35. Everyone should have their starters and key backups at this point. Players picked now will be mostly special teamers and many won't even be on a real team when the season starts.

I was under the impression we were going to 42 rounds. I am down for a couple more rounds and then just calling it, it was a fun run while it lasted =)

There has been a pretty big change in mood I feel. It seems like many people have become pretty disinterested since shifting to first come first server. I'm fine either way though. I do think we need at least a few more rounds so teams can finish out their remaining needs. For example, my Saints still need a punter and returner. I'm sure other teams have some remaining needs to fill out also.

And totally fine with capping this whenever 36, or 37, or if others want to go 42 then fine....at this point its backups of backups, I think we have made our points.

 at this point, I'm just filling backup gaps and not impacting my team much. The time it takes to see who is still available is more than the benefit of actually drafting the guy.

round 36:

Cardinals select Josh Brown, K

Eagles select Jeff Cumberland, TE/FB

Panthers select Fred Evans, DT

I would at least like to finish out this week for picks.

I'd be up for another full week ......at worst Finish this week at least then see where we are headed on Monday.

Alright folks, let's wind this thing down. If we do 2 rounds today and 2 rounds tomorrow we will be at 40 rounds, which seems good enough to me.

So today we'll draft rounds 37 and 38.

Friday we'll draft rounds 39 and 40.

37&38:

49ers:

Pat Sims, DT. Veteran who can still help clog the middle.

Matt Birk, C. Yes, he is retired in real life, but in this fake league, Brees and Richardson will convince him to come out for one more go-around. Still played at an EXTREMELY high level last year in winning a ring with the Ravens,

Colts:

Amobi Okoye, DT. 7 year veteran is still only 25 years old. 4 sacks as recently as 2011.

Kyle Vanden Bosch. Still can be productive in part-time role.
