Calling all football history experts...
Looking for some help settling an argument. There was a 6 year span of instant replay from 1986 - 1992 before it was done away with until again being reinstated in 1999. During this time period (1986-1999), whether or not plays were reviewed came from the booth and the call was made by a referree in the booth. What were the rules during this time as to what plays were "reviewable?" I'm looking for clarification specifically on pass interference penalties.
Between these years ('86-'99), was the booth able to overturn a referrees call of pass interference???? What other plays were reviewable, such as face mask, offsides... etc.????
Thank you

Anyways, No it will never happen. Not sure what kind of evidence you're looking for. This has never been done before in the past and it will never be done in the future. Can't really "prove" something will or will not happen in the future. If you find a way please let me know Saturday's Powerball numbers
