The time for the sender is irrelevant. They dont have any time window at all. I mean sure, get proper sleep, rhythms, etc... but for purposes of societal politeness we dont have acceptable time windows in place for the people committing acts. It is for the people on the receiving end.

that is my experience with waffle fries. Too much potato and the ratio is off.

Carls Jr were the best. Just perfect. I have had bad ones but when they are good they are really good.

Went to a work conference today. All conferences MUST follow these rules with respect to badges. I will brook no dissent:

• The largest item on the badge must be the person's name. Don't give me a giant conference logo and then the name in microscopic type. This is especially important for a) people like me who have trouble placing faces and rely on nametags to jog my memory, and b) men who want to learn the names of female attendees without having to lean in and squint as they scrutinize the women's chests
• If you're using a lanyard to secure the badge, you need to print the same thing on both sides. Nametags don't do much good when they inevitably flip around. If you're using clips to affix the badge, one side is acceptable. But then you're making it hard on attendees (especially women) who don't have a lapel or breast pocket to clip the badge onto. So stick with the lanyards and two-sided printing
• Put a bin right at the conference exit and encourage people to leave their badges as they depart. Not all badges will be reusable, and I have no idea if the plastic is recyclable. What I am sure of is that a badge is far more useful sitting in a bin with a bunch of other badges than it is sitting on the floor of my car for the next month

Went to another conference today. They handed out the swag bags at the entrance, which meant everyone had to carry them around all day. Why not just position someone at the exit to hand them out as people left?

Then, on the way home, there is a four way stop. The amount of people that don't understand how a four way stop works is ridiculous. I pull up... three cars- one in my lane going northbound. A southbound and then a eastbound car. The car in front of me goes. The southbound doesn't move. The car in front of me clears the intersection.... and then we all proceed to sit there for a ridiculous time until I finally just went even though it was not my turn and cut the eastbound car off as they started to go right after I went.

Neither of these are that complicated. Why is it so hard for people?!

we have a 4 way intersection near us , which actually becomes an 8 way due to having 2 lanes in each direction. wife's car was totaled at it when a person did not stop at their stop sign

The larger roundabouts with multiple lanes are nightmares. Not because of the design but because people are morons and don't know how to drive.

The small roundabouts with one lane should be easy peasy.... but then you have ding bats like this person who stops on the roundabout to let the incoming cars go..... like what do you think that built this thing for? (this particular roundabout went from a four way stop to roundabout roughly 3 or so years ago.) There is a roundabout in access road for a hospital and gym. I have, one several occasions, seen people going the WRONG way on the roundabout. Thankfully, it is not a high traffic road since it is more about connecting the various parking areas for the hospital and gym and proving access form the actual roads but man.... why do you think it makes sense to go left on a roundabout?! Most were elderly which I have more patience for but not all.

I will say that people seem to generally be able to operate a roundabout better than they can a four way stop.

They didn’t put the pinstripes on, gave me the wrong tire and tried to hide it on the other side of the car, didn’t replace a door handle, didn’t replace all the rubber crap that keeps the water out in the door, jam and numerous other little items.

The worst part was when I went to start it - it wouldn’t start.

I had to go through every single line item with them today. I’ll have to do it again next week when they think they’re finished.

Couldn't disagree more. They put in 2 roundabouts within 2 miles of my house. Completely useless ones IMO. At first I thought it was just lack of familiarity, over the last year I've realized people are just morons.

BTW... I'd agree that if people used them properly, they would be more efficient than stop lights/signs, but I have never seen an extended efficient use of one.

My Acadia light headlights went out (they go out WAY too much but whatever). You can change it pretty easily if you don't have a fat arm like me that can't quite make it all the way up. I tried having my son do it but it was too hard to explain how to get the old one out and put the new one in for him to understand (9 year old at the time). Instead of bothering my brother in law again who did it for me the previous time, I figured, what are they going to charge me? Like $15 for a two minute job? Ok.... so I started calling places. The several first ones I talked to were going to charge for the bulbs as well as putting them in even though I had my own bulbs... around $80ish give or take from several places. I call this one place and he tells me $1500! WHAT?! I was like, no, you don't understand, I just need you to install two headlight bulbs. He says yes, I have to pull the whole front of the car off to do it. Noooooo, I have seen it done from the wheel well and would do it myself by my arm is too fat. He starts yelling at me that he knows what he is talking about, had the book right in front of him and that is what needs to be done and that he is the owner of the shop. I told him he was a moron and would be out of business soon and hung up. Finally had to go to my brother in law again. 10 minutes later, I was on my way with working headlights.

The two near me are at intersections of 25 and 30 MPH roads. Utterly stupid. But the city couldn’t pass up the federal funding they got for putting them in.

I agree with you on pergolas in general. I have one that came with our house (not my favorite but also low priority to replace). It’s on my deck attached to house and it’s got a plant across the top to fill in the gaps in the slats, so does provide decent shade with that.

Ultimately I get they are a cost savings structure. The roof is what makes a structure exponentially more expensive. Still doesn’t make them any less annoying.
