CBS SPORTSLINE DRAFT ANALYZER (1 Viewer)

Has anyone of the FBG staff taken a look at the CBS Sportsline Draft Analyzer product for the ripe price of $30?

If it utilizes opinions from the CBS fantasy gurus then it probably can't be very good. Those guys are not very good IMHO!

But I was curious if Ole' Black Eye Joe himself had evaluated a competetive product.

This sounds interesting. It's at least worth a bump for the answer. I'm going to look for it, but if anyone has a direct link it would be appreciated.

our league ditched CBS a few years ago and I have never visited their site again - not even for sports news

No, have not checked it out, though as I recall from when our league was with them, their in-season FF advice SUCKED (big time)

I like the site for a FF league,
you don't find it just SLIGHTLY overpriced???
It's more expensive than other sites, but IMO it's the easiest to navigate by far and is very friendly on the eyes. I've used myfantasyleage, xpertsports, yahoo, espn and aol and I like CBS more than any of them, enough to pay the extra $.

Levin...which sites would you recommend? We've used CBS for about 5 years and have found it to be an easy site to use. Compared to ESPN and especially Yahoo....I think it's much better. Just curious as to what other sites to consider for next year.

Yes, I would be curious to. And I agree that the CBS site appears the most pleasing as far as layout. Marc Levin was less kind than I, but he was more accurate - their fantasy advice does suck!

we've been on CBS for years and it works well. The advice has gotten better than it was but it's still pretty bad.

What is it? Basically, you plug in your draft results and they tell you who has the best team? Seems to me that the Draft Dominator can do that and more - all you'd need is CBS' projections.

i love MFL - I think it is easy to navigate, but a lot of folks don't like the no frills approach - there's nothing pretty, but it is very low cost - and it is very easy to draft online.my main money league uses fanball - i don't like them, and I find that they often have tech probs at the beginning of the year - but their sortable stats are easy to use and it is a "pretty" site that is very easy to navigate. - I like their news feature on your team and on your opponent - and their tracking of fantasy stats makes it very easy to pick a team each week - fanball is most comparable to CBS, but their analysts are WAY WAY "smarter."

Yahoo suxor big time for running a league, though I am involved in two long standing leagues that use Yahoo b/c it is free - and it is not too bad to draft on Yahoo.

 exactly - never choose a site to run your league based on their draft analysis - instead, use... ummm... some li'l site from whence you are presently navigating.

So you like CBS' projections, but not the advice?Sort of differnt topic, but I can't seem to find my exact scoring system on the FBG cheatsheets, though we run a pretty basic scoring system

10 team, PPR, 1/25 passing, 1/20 run/rec., 6 pt for all tds...standard D scoring.

Could have missed it.

I'll use the CBS projections to loan into the DD this year and see how that works.

No, my league uses CBS as its platform, but I don't pay attention to their projections or advice. What I was saying is that if you have the CBS projections, you don't need this $30 module to "evaluate your draft" - you could simply plug their projections into the Draft Dominator, fill in your draft, and let the Dominator size up the league.

Yea, the trick with MFL is how creative and savvy with HTML/CSS your commish. Can be great or very boring.

I've used a few and would have to put in the following order those I have experience with:

1. MFL - Easy of use is top notch. If you have a savvy commish you can have the site as simple or complex as he wants to design it. Cost is pretty good.

2. Xpert - pretty solid site, decent price, ease of navigation

3. Web League Manager - pretty no frills site but flawless operation. good price

4. CBS - extremely pricey. good layout. horrible "Guru" info. LOTS of lag on sundays

5. Antsport - custom leagues only (publics blow). cheap. server issues abound. Steve may go belly up at any minute if you believe the msg boards

8029 and 8030. ESPN closely followed by Yahoo. Terrible. Just Terrible. Yahoo is expensive even at free.

GNus

If you had tried Fox Sports' FF last year, you would have had one to stick below Yahoo! on your ladder.

FWIW,it doesnt evaluate a draft. The name is misleading. It is a draft tool. The projections are from other pay FF sites, they dont use sportslines at all.

Sportsline pimps it,but its not their product.

Some of my leagues are on sportsline and I looked into it last year.

Since I was a subscriber here(and still am) paying the analyzer people for a DD ripoff wasnt/isnt an option.

Anyone else have a problem with the home page layout of CBS? Your league is squished to either the left or right column while you are forced to display their crap in the main column. For 129 I would think that you should not be subject to sledgehammer advertising.

I just can't get over the adjectives like "extremely high" used to describe the cbs pricing. is it too hight? yes, but at $3-4 more per person in a 12 team league it really isn't that big of deal. not enought to worry about if you like the site.

You can edit the layout. Get rid of or move their crap and put what ever you want in the main column.

Take a look at rtsports...I think they have an excellent site

We started at cbs at $129 a season, then last year someone suggested rtsports, so we tried it. You can't beat the $80 tag. We won't be going back to cbs.
Sorry I read this after my post. Obviously I agree. Their customer service will get back to you as well in a reasonable amount of time and they always follow through. I have used this site for 4 years and have rarely had an issue (during the week in scoring games occasionally there is a mistake for an hour or so - but tis is not often and am sure it is from heir stat provider)

I downloaded the sample to take a look at it. It's basically the DD but a couple of features were added in the area that CBS calls "Dynamic Drafting".

You can preset a penalty to deduct fantasy points for Backup players

The system will also allow you to configure the number of points you want to deduct from skill positions if you draft with overlapping Bye weeks. This penalty kicks in as you draft players.

Both penalties are configurable and could be set to 0.

Interesting idea, but I'll stick to DD & FBG. :)

BTW - Our 12 team league does use CBS during the season. No complaints so far.
