Chad Johnson on Brett Favre (1 Viewer)

Where's this coming from? The list of guys who haven't made fun of Favre's indecisiveness is shorter than those who have.

I think you meant Ochocinco.

And he's right.
To me he will always be Chad Johnson.
Do you still use Lou Alcinder and Cassius Clay regularly?"His momma named him Clay, I'm gonna call him Clay."
Big difference in someone taking a name for religous reasons compared to being named after the number 85 in a different language.
It was all about money and fame....which is Chad's religion.

Totally agree about "Ochocinco". I try to avoid blanket statements and broad generalizations, but I propose that it took no time at all for Ocho to succumb to the demons of greed and wealth. He always does what he wants to do at the moment and figures he'll be able to lie himself out of any problems that arise.

Griping about Ocho will not make him stop trying to infiltrate and then dominate and control the mass media. But even if it did, he would just find some other way to push his "me me me" agenda. If Ocho is victorious in his quest to destroy our youths' ability to grow beyond the temptations of greed and idiocy, then his crown will be the funeral wreath of humanity.

I honestly had to think about who Chad Johnson was.

How long does he have to keep his legal name as Ochocinco before JohnnyU will accept it? The logic of referring to him as "Johnson" seems to have a poor foundation.

It's about rejecting the foundation of greed and wealth that he bases his entire existence on. His birth name is Johnson and he lets his idiocy and lust for attention dishonor his family name.

Actually, it should be Johnson. Chad promised that he'd change his last name back to Johnson if Revis shut him down in Week 17 last year. Revis then proceeded to shut down Chad in Week 17.... and then again the following week in the playoffs.

very odd thing to write.

seriously, it took four posts to completely remove whats his name from the subject matter. Chad Ochocinco knows whats up, hes an entertainer and is one of the great elements in the NFL today.

Favre is a d-bag and should be mocked more.

Rejecting greed in NFL players? Seriously? Do I need to list the number of people who have made contract demands while still under contract? Do you reject all of them? Might as well stop watching the game because they're all greedy and you would be too if that was your career. And when did this place turn into Atlanta circa 1856? Dishonoring the family name :goodposting: You feel the same way about all these people too?

I am not sure where he lands on the giving to charity scale for NFL players but Ocho remains the most accessible & generous NFL player to his fans. And how much of the charity giving by NFL players (while doing an important service) is based upon tax incentives and making themselves more marketable because of their charitable works? Cut Ocho some slack.

:lmao: The guy just has a hard time deciding whether or not to retire. The media is already making way too big of a deal out of it.

So Ocho's main goal in life, towards which he funnels the majority of his energy, is making sure little kids grow up to be greedy idiots? And here I thought he just liked being the center of attention because its fun. I'm glad we have someone like you on the forums who can see through the smoke and mirrors.

I am sure some of it is about money. when he changed his name to Ocho Cinco, he was able to jack up his revenue from Jersey sales. It was like a free cash windfall.I cannot speak for the rest.

I think it was the opposite. A lot of revenue was lost based on all the #85 Johnson jersey's that were not sellable once he changed his name to eightfive.

 The guy just has a hard time deciding whether or not to retire. The media is already making way too big of a deal out of it.
:banned: You hear many of the analysts blasting on Favre. I wouldn't say he just goes along with no criticism and isn't called a diva on a regular basis. The way I have looked at it is this: He wants to come back, but isn't sure if his ankle is going to be ready. If there were no ankle problems he would be in a purple uniform, but since the ankle is not healing as planned that is why the "merry-go-round" has started.

technically it should be johnson, and i will refer to him as such. he said he would change his name back if he was shutdown by Revis...................back to the subject. im sick of favre, but he isnt the same kind of "look at me" as chad johnson. favre is a lunch pail kinda guy. chad is more of a hollywood spectacle kinda guy.in my book favre gets some leeway for being a tough football player. chad gets some leeway due to his kindness off the field. BUT, chad with his tweets, and his comments, and his over the top attention getting are more annoying, imo.

With Favre's history, if it wasn't the ankle it would be something else. Even his agent calls him a diva. The media just makes it worse. Eisen should just #### with his Favre watch crap. I turn the NFL Network off as soon as any mention of Favre comes up. Needless to say I don't watch a lot of NFL Network these days.

Couldnt have said this better. To comment on the topic on hand rather than the current derail, I do agree with Johnson somewhat that Favre is the same brand of media sycophant, but Johnson is in a whole other league. And it'll only get worse if Johnson finds a way to further infiltrate and then dominate and control the mass media. (ie: Twitter/Facebook). Johnson has only one goal: to demonstrate an outright hostility to traditional values.

Even if his ankle was perfectly healthy he has every right to take time making a decision. People make such a big deal over him changing his mind. Lots of people go through this when their career is coming to an end. My boss recently retired and he'd been waffling on it longer than Favre has.85 does TD celebrations, posts a lot on Twitter, keeps telling the media how great he is, has a reality TV show, and made a huge deal of a name change. I think he's just jealous that all Brett has to do is supposedly send a text to a teammate and he gets more attention than him.

Chad's antics on and off the field entertain loyal NFL fans and attract people that might not typically throw a game on. He works his ace off, and at the end of the day his teamates get along with him, he is not a locker room cancer and his tweets/interviews/TD celebrations do nothing to hurt his team.

Favre's constant offseason waffling can be written off as being 'deserved because he's Brett Favre", but IMHO does way more harm to his team (disrupting a sense of unity, sending mixed signals of how to act to the rooks by creating a double standard of whats expected of them and undermines the team's ability to plan for their upcoming season) than every single tweet and dance (on the field or a tv show) that Chad has ever done.

Brett's waffling didn't seem to hurt the Vikes last year. If it did, the team should just let him go right away. But that's on the team, not on Brett. If he wants to think it over, and a team is still willing to have him after the though process and decision changes, he has every right to do it.Brett's said he loves his Viking teammates, but he's also got to consider what's best for himself and his family.

Just checking. Would you say you're a religious man?

Personally, I'm glad he changed. That's one less "C. Johnson" to keep track of on draft day.

I just wish Favre would be honest and say "I am going to play this season but I'm not showing up until after training camp. The owner, coaches and my teammates are fine with that so shut the hell up and leave me alone."

The way Favre has been doing this for the past few years feels very similar to the way LeBron handled "The Decision", except Favre prefers to let people twist and then stir things up every now and again. For some reason LeBron was vilified and Favre pretty much gets a pass beyond a few diva comments.

Good point. I was put off a little at first but once I found more about what a good guy he really is I changed my opinion.I don't understand why some people seem to dislike the guy so much just because he loves the spotlight. It's not like he is pretending that he doesn't want the spotlight and it's just foisted upon him (I am looking at you Mr. Brett "Aw shucks" Favre). He is a good teammate, a very solid citizen, he doesn't drink and he gives more of his time to his fans than any player I am aware of. But for some reason people just hate the guy.

seriously, it took four posts to completely remove whats his name from the subject matter. Chad Ochocinco knows whats up, hes an entertainer and is one of the great elements in the NFL today.Favre is a d-bag and should be mocked more.
 The post of the clueless football fan. Favre has one of the best if not best statistical seasons of his career at 39-40 and he's a d-bag for waffling about playing since about 33-35 years old. Most QB's can't get to 35 and post a good year. He posted a great year at 40.

He can be great statistically and still be what unckeyherb so astutely observed, a "########" which in this case is a clear certainty. Once you cut through the bravado, misconceptions, and ignorance, you'll find that the problem of most masters of deceit (ironically Chad "OchoCinco" Johnson serves as an example here) serves as an excuse for Brett Favre to express his own greed and frustrated need for power. He is indeed a diva, albeit a talented diva.

Jay Cutler had a great year two years ago. Ben Roethsliberger had a great year last year. I'm sure they're both thrilled to learn that having a great season exempts them from "d-bag" status.

Yeah - the difference is that Chad changing his name was marketing genius.

Anyone changing their name for religion is brain-washed idiocy.
