Chiefs looking to deal Dorsey? (1 Viewer)

You really think Pioli/Haley will put up with CJ? I don't...unless he does a Randy Moss-like turnaround in performance and attitude.

I would agree that I don't see Pioli dealing with attitudes. There is a very good reason why he and Belicheck were so successful in NE for years. It wasn't just Belicheck, folks. With that said, I don't view CJ nearly as bad as some of the prima donnas out there, but I still could see KC avoiding him. This is why I'm a bit surprised they haven't officially dropped Larry Johnson yet.

You answered your own question, actually. Did you think Pioli/BB would put with Randy Moss?CJ was hurt last year, so there performance could boucne back. I think his attitude is better than Moss - he's a spotlight lover, but he shows up to play.

Pioli traded for not only Randy Moss, but Corey Dillon as well when Dillon was viewed as a cancer.

If I were Detroit, I'd be on the phone offering 1.20 ASAP.
I agree completely. With part of his contract taken care of, and with one year under his belt, he is worth taking a shot at for the 1.20. What may be the stickler is if KC would be asking for like a 1st and 4th or something. If that's the case, Detroit should hold off. But other teams, with a late 1st, might be willing to look at take the risk...
I agree as well. Dorsey would easily grade as the best DT in this draft and was highly debated as being the best player in the 08 draft. If Det could get him now, at a discount, then it would be a steal IMO. The only problem I see is that Det is taking Stafford and IMO, they really could benefit by taking the best OT available at 1.20.

They took Corey Dillon and Randy Moss, cant get any bigger than those two premadonna's

The most amusing thing to me in this wild speculation is that people seem to think KC will be running a two-gapping 3-4 system ... based on nothing.

I read every article, Q&A, etc., and the best that I can come up with is that they'll be running a 4-3 system, predominantly in an under front, also mixing in some 3-4 looks -- basically with the weakside end standing up, to give a 4-backer look.

As others have alluded to, the previous regime butchered his rookie year. He didn't line up in a shade technique ONCE all season. Not ONCE! Albert Haynesworth probably shaded a guard's outside shoulder 10-12 times per GAME!

The other point I'd make is one Darnell Dockett, a guy who's equally unsuited to a 3-4. He still dominates. Why? Because the Cardinals let him attack. They have him play in a single gap. They actually utilize his ability. Who is "they?" Clandy Pendergast -- KC's defensive coordinator. I'm not particularly pleased with him running the defense, but one concern I don't have is him finding ways to get Dorsey playing at a high level.

Cunningham didn't use him well in KC last year so I wouldn't expect much more with him in Detroit. hard to say whether Gun is still high or soured on him after last year.
Slow your roll there potna. I wouldn't go blaming Guns too quickly. From what I've heard here in KC, Guns was forced to run Herms Tampa 2 version of a defense...and Guns hated it. When given the reigns to run a defense Guns has been solid when he's given the pieces to play with. But since Herm didn't give Guns free reign, Guns had to do the best with what he was told to do. Guns is all piss and vinegar and loves getting after the QB. I blame the ineptitude of the defense last year solely on Herm and his conservative game planning.
