One of the only things I collect these days are off-brand Chinese in-ear monitors. I order a bunch of different IEMs from Chinese e-commerce sites based on what the

at head-fi.org are currently touting as the price/performance champs. It's fun when they magically appear at my doorstep 2-4 weeks later. There a re a variety of small unknown companies who pack a lot of technology into tiny form factors for very little money. I've gotten IEMs with dual dynamic drivers _and_ two balance armatures for 15-20 bucks shipped. The sound quality measures favorably against my Sennheiser Momentum over ears. Cans will always give better soundstage but IEMs offer intimacy and convenience. Plus I don't look like a huge dork when I'm walking the dog.
Classic rock is still better though when played through a killer sound system with big woofers and tweeters.
