C'mon parents....stopped with the EFFed up names.. (1 Viewer)

When I was in elementary school, there was a kid by the name of Nosmo King Smith. Nosmo King. No Smoking.
OH BULL ####
That was his name. Parents were African, like straight from Africa. Didn't speak a whole of English.
Well that's proof enough I guess.
I mean I don't know what else to say. I was in like 2nd or 3rd grade. We didn't have yearbooks.

Timely bump here. I'm currently drafting a pleading that causes me to type out a name that is spelled funny a few dozen times. Of course, my autocorrect finds the spelling so ridiculous that it immediately autocorrects. I'm about to send a separate bill to this person's parents for the wasted time of having to constantly fix the autocorrect.

Haven't contributed to this thread in a while. Here are the Kindergartners and 1st graders that stuck out. (I didn't even go with "quirky" spellings of established names.)

Girls:

Jovie (yes from Elf)

Aurina

Keeley

Kinsley

Willow

Graciela

Averyona

Arllentia

Boys:

Sanle'

Lochlan

Rinks

Ave'ion

Olaff (poor *******, thanks a lot Frozen)

Came across a child with the name "Dexter Morgan" not that long ago.

ETA: That's not his full name. "Dexter Morgan" is his first and middle name. So totally intentional.

Did Frozen come out 5 or more years ago?

My boy was born this past July - but had to spend his first 6 days in the nursery of the hospital. The Mrs. and I were there for maybe 12-16 hours a day so we got to know the nurses very well. While they couldn't tell us the names of the other babies there at the same time, they could tell us the names of prior patients.

Two of my favorites:

Boy - Truck

Girl - Gem

Nice job inspector clouseau.

What I was saying was, that thanks to Frozen this kid will get teased for the rest of his elementary days.

We named my second child Carlie. My wife liked the "ie" at the end. I didn't, but let her have her way because she wanted it to start with a K and I wanted it to start with a C.

I didn't see a real issue with the spelling until somebody on this board pointed out that Car-Lie could be used to make fun of her by other kids.

Of course, I hardly think Car-Ly is any better and Car-Ley is WAY worse.
